I put down $4200 March 7th 2025 at National Auto Sales for a 2020 **** fusion. I was told my throttle body was messed up so they needed to keep the car. They kept it for about 3 days and told me I could come pick it up. I picked up March 11, drove it home and on March 12th I went out to take my son to school and it did not start. I immediately called the dealership, and he had someone come tow my car.. a few hours later he texted me & said your car started right up, come get it.. they never attempted to look at it or figure out the problem. I picked it up that day on March 12th and drove it home and the next day it would not start again. I called, he had it towed again and a few hours later he was posting my car along with a few other cars that he was selling. I went to the dealership and he did not try to fix the problem, he wasnt trying to work with me and even told me he couldnt give me another car unless I brung at leave $700 more dollars. I told him if he didnt not fix my car I was not making a payment. His response was okay.. he told me he would get with his mechanic and figure out the pricing for everything that needed to be fixed & he told me he would call the next day. He has not called me and talked to me about anything, the only thing he keeps reaching out to me about is my payment but I told him I would love my car fixed before I make a payment. He refused to give me my money back and he refused to even put me in another car unless I give him way more money.Initial Complaint

On October 30th I put down $2,500 down payment on the car. As I was getting into the car I noticed a couple thinks that was broken it was 15 mins till closing I got frustrated and sad. I want my money back. The man said we are not about to do this right now so I just drove home because it was a long day as I was driving home. I started smelling burning when I got home. I called up there to let them know that I will be back in the morning because I didnt want the car, go by next day I called them and tell them that I will be coming to get a refund and they told me that I could not get a refund even though I havent had the car for 24 hours. I was stuck since I had the car, the gas kept running out within an hour of filling the car up I was putting in $70 every hour for a few weeks my first car no due date was supposed to be November 15 for $1000. They decided to come and take my car and lied and said that they didnt have my car on November 12 , I made multiple post on ********. I called them multiple times. Everyone was lying being rude. I have text messages of the employees cussing me out and every time I hang up the phone so when I made the ******** pose, thats when I got a text and said if you want your car back, you have to pay $500 and delete the ************* , so when I do that I go up there they are still being rude. They drop my car off two hours later. They stole papers out my car. The car start jumping the next day after that the car stopped working November 16. I called them to let them know about the car stopped working , can I get another car? They said I cant get another car unless I have another down payment. I asked them to fix the car. They said I will have to pay for whatever messed up. I had a mechanic come out and he told me this car been messed up for years. They knew not to sell me the car. They had water inside of my gas tank. I made a new post and over 150 people said they scam them to they are scamming the city its not rightInitial Complaint

BBB took a complaint over the phone. Below is the voice to text voicemail description
Hi, my name is ***** *********, T-A-V as in ******, I-A Carricker, ***************. The complaint number is ********. I am calling regarding National Auto Sales West. I have purchased a vehicle for $1 ,500 from them two weeks later before I can even make payment, they took my car. They took it back, reposted it, posted it on, they put it as a repo. They posted it on ******** as a resale basically. And people then test drive in the car, everything. I have messages from people, different Facebook people telling me that they had test drove my car, my kids' belongings and my personal belongings were in the car. Also, social documents, birth certificate, car seat, strollers, my kid's shoes was in the trunk. My kid's WIC card, everything was in the car. And I tried getting the car back. The manager kept hanging up on me, talking to me crazy. I ended up flying in town, came back here in town. And basically, I ended up going up there. My car is completely totaled. My hard place to my old car that was totaled back in September was inside the glove department. They said that basically they were robbed, and none of my kids' stuff was inside. Basically our property wasn't inside the vehicle no more. After about 15 different people then test drove the car since November since it was supposedly stolen back. So, I would like to, I basically complain. I am going to be following up with a police report, following up with a police report. And yes, I would like a refund or something, something, because I literally have three kids, woke up the next morning, my car is completely gone before I can even make a payment. When I called them to make a payment, they told me I have to pay them $1 ,500, which is ridiculous. But my contact information is area code **********. Thank you.Initial Complaint

Hi my name is ***** *****, 22. On February 19th 2025 I put $3,000 down on a mustang from this company. It shut off the same exact day while I was driving and it wouldnt cut back on. They came and got it and it took 1 day for work to be done. They suggested I get another car but demanded $1,500 more so I paid it just so that I could have a car for me and my babies and Ive already spent $3,000 I need to be driving. As a week goes by THIS car stops turning on. They came to get it and said I would be responsible for paying for repairs. I agreed because I just need my car. Ive been calling for 2 weeks checking on the car and they said theyll call back but never do. They have a total of $5,000 from me and theyre ignoring me. Not sure if theyve sold the car while supposed to be fixing it or not. But I am now without $5,000 and a car. No help. And I have a 3 year old and an 8 month old and I am about to lose my job if I dont make it back to work ASAP. In the images below you will see that the first purchase was made Feb 19th and the Second was made Feb 22nd . It has NOT been a full 30 days since I put the extra $1,500 down for the **** that is now not working. And that theyre holding hostage.Initial Complaint

I bought a truck from National Auto sales West. I paid the higher-end price according to Kelley Blue book. The four-wheel drive the transmission in the rear end was to be in working order. I agreed to the things that were wrong with it that we discussed and they disclosed to me. The rear window not rolling down the computer need to be replaced etc. I had the truck less than 3 weeks. Drove it less than 400 miles and was going around a turn and the rear end started to lock up and I almost had an accident. I parked the truck and let them know and they didn't want to do anything. They told me to bring it in they would give me estimates and they would repair the vehicle if I wanted them to do it for 50% of the labor cost and 50% of the parts cost. I wasn't happy about that. I discovered that they just put fluid in the rear end to hide the fact that it had an issue. It was undetectable on a test drive until the fluid ran out of it which was causing the rear end to lock up. I called National Auto sales East and spoke to the manager there Ian. That was on March 13th. He said he would see what he could do. On March 14th a tow truck shows up at my house at 7:00 p.m. I asked the guy what is going on and he shows me a text from Roger the manager at National Auto sales West. It says the pickup truck customer has rear end issue that needs to be looked at. I let him take the truck. On March 15th at 3:45 p.m. I get a text message from Roger saying the truck is fixed I owe them $500 and I cannot pick the truck up unless I pay the $500. I did not get a estimate a phone call anything concerning what they were going to do to the vehicle. On March 16th I went there and video recorded the mechanic telling me that the only thing they did was put oil in the rear end. The seal wasn't replaced or anything. They told me I owed them $500 to take the truck. And they were charging me a daily storage fee. That's against the law. Any repairs over $50 require an estimate. I have text messagesInitial Complaint

I am leasing a vehicle from the company. In which I was provided a 45 day tag. I was giving no paperwork when I left. I was told they would mail my title in the mail so I can change the plates into my name. The business still has the car in their name according to the BMV. I have called and left messages to the company , and still nothing has been done. I am unable to drive the car since 11-26-2023 due to the 45 day tags exciting. I keep getting put on holdInitial Complaint

I brought this vehicle on October 09 2023 my payments are once a month for $500. I arranged for that when I brought the vehicle I put down $2000. I came on November 9th 2023 made my payment of $500 and left. On December 7 2023 my car was repossessed for non payment. I was scheduled to pay December 9th 2023 in the amount of $500. Now they want to charge me for repossession fee of 750 plus my monthly bill of $500. They made the mistake and now expect me to walk away from $2500 I’ve spent on this vehicle. Not to mention once I got my first oil change at Valvoline November 4th 2023 I was made aware my vehicle has a bad oil leak.Business Response

On October 9th 2023 I went to National Auto Sales a friend of mine referred me to. In fact she was there the whole process. I put $2000 down on a vehicle that cost $7807.43. Before I signed my paperwork for the vehicle the guy who sold me the vehicle put in my contract that my payments were biweekly. When I addressed him about this and told him I needed him to correct it before I sign it he said that was the only way he could get the loan approved for the vehicle. That I would be in the system to pay once a month of $500. He had to put it in himself but that it had to say biweekly for the loan to process but that I was going to be in the system for once a month payments.
After that on November 4th 2023 I go into Valvoline and they do my oil change they proceed to tell me my vehicle has an 8 out of 10 bad oil leak.
On the 9th of November I got into make my first payment of $500. It was there I told him I went to Valvoline on the 4th of November and they told me my vehicle had an 8 out of 10 oil leak. He tells me well we sold you the car as is but we can fix it for you but we’ll have to charge you. I made my $500 monthly payment right then and there. Not once was I told I was late for a payment or that I had any missed payments on my account. In fact my tags were set to expire November 23rd 2023 so I went in to the office once again November 24 2023 and spoke with the same guy about getting my papers to take to the title office to get my hard plates. He proceeded to tell me his title lady is out for the holiday and she won’t be back till Wednesday the 29th of November. He advised me to go to the BMV and pay for 45 day tags and that should hold me till the lady gets back and I can get my title papers to go get hard plates. I did just that went to BMV and got 45 day tags.
Now on December 7 I was working in front of my house. I was in my vehicle doing Uber when the first time a red tow truck pulled up and I was on my phone and realized the car was lifting up but I backed out of it. I honked several times and he ran off.
Second time around 315 am a guy came and attempted to do the same thing while I was again at work in front of my house. I kept honking at him to stop he proceeded to lift the vehicle jumped out his truck and yanked my door open threatened to pull me out the vehicle and yanked my keys out of the ignition. Very aggressively threatening to take my vehicle and physically threatening to remove me from the vehicle. He threatens to take the vehicle regardless of what I had to say. This guy did not announce who he was what he was doing or who he represented. Finally after going back and forth with him he calms down and tells me he is repoing my vehicle for none payment. He showed me something on his phone with my vehicle and name which is when I knew he was repoing my vehicle. The same vehicle I pay $500 a month for. He told me he had been chasing me all night so by the time he finally got with me he was upset and went a little too far. I never knew he was following me though. I don’t understand why he didn’t announce himself the first time. So I can hand over the vehicle and keys. He was gonna remove me physically from the vehicle without explaining anything. Coming at me with his hands. I proceeded to get out the vehicle and got my house keys and came into my home.
Now my next car payment was not due until December 9th 2023.
On December 7th I go straight into the office when they open at ten am and speak to the same guy who sold me the vehicle. I told him hey my car was repossessed last night roughly 330 in the morning I need an explanation. He proceeds to tell me I’ve missed two biweekly payments of $250 and that because of that my vehicle was repossessed. When I reminded him I asked for once a month payments but that you put me in there for biweekly and that you said you would put it in the system manually. He tried to apologize and tell me he will call his boss and see if there is something they can workout for me. I specifically told him I can only do once a month payments and I had my witness there the girl who referred me. Not to mention he put me under biweekly because that’s the only way he could process the loan for the vehicle.
Once he gets off the phone with his boss he tells me they can help me but I would have to pay $750 repossession fee right now and my regular $500 payment on the 9th of December.
At this point I asked for their BBB paperwork and they refused to show me where it was when I seen it on the wall in another room they proceeded to tell me I can’t get in that room. In fact one of his works walked over me and shut the door in my face as I was outside that room trying to zoom in on a picture of BBB frame on the wall.Initial Complaint

I owed my first car payment on August 11th of 500 dollars. I do make money on instacart so I had to wait to receive my deposit to make my payment. I called two different days once on the 12th & once on the 14th. I reinformed them that I did plan to pay my full payment today the 15th & I was told over the phone it’s going to be fine. I then wake up today on the 15th to go to a job and a man and a women come behind my car and tell me I have to give them my keys because it’s being taken back. I called my car company and they didn’t explain anything they just took my car without a tow truck. The man I spoke to today over the phone just simply told me to give the people my keys and go about the issue later when they contact me. I felt ambushed and all they kept saying is there might have been miscommunication. I already wasn’t satisfied with some of the ways they did things and this would’ve been my first month even having that car and it was already smoking and I put down 1100. I would like to find the legal way to handle this because I don’t like how I was blocked in and they were waiting for me and watching me until they could get my key.
