Hello, Requesting not to be charged Rent for the month of December when we are month to month and have given notice to move out more than 30 days prior to 11/30/23. Our lease ends 10/31/23. We gave a 60 day notice which is what the lease indicated. We asked to go month to month for November and December but due to unforeseen circumstances, we no longer need December. They are refusing and saying we have to pay for both months. By Ohio law, month to month lease does not have an end date, it can be terminated with 30 day notice which we have now provided way before 30 days. We are seeking a resolution which is to pay for November only. We are also asking that they do not retaliate as they have done to other tenants in the past that wanted to move out. Retaliation would be making things up and trying to charge us for things that are wrong with the apartment only because we have filed this complaint. In the 9 years we lived here, they made NO updates to the unit. No new carpets, no new paintings, nothing. The only thing we ever got after several complaints was a stove. We would like this complaint escalated so we can complete our move by 11/30/23 with no issues. Thank you in advance!

We require a 60 day notice from the first. We do this to give us time to re-rent your apartment. On October 23rd you tried to change your move out date to 11/30/2023. This is not within 60 days. I'm attaching a copy of our lease that states this is a two-month-to month basis at the end of the term. You are still responsible for rent until 12/31/2023.

[If you do not say why you are rejecting the company's response, BBB must close your complaint.]

I am rejecting this response because:  the lease attached doesnt show my signature. Pleasr provide a lease where I signed on a 2 month to month lease. I never did so the attached is fraudulent,  need to see the complete lease.
