      On August 3, 2023, entered into contract with Schmidt hospitality concepts for rental of venue and catering. Paid 1,000 deposit. Contacted me in Nov informing me of new ownership when in fact they stopped leasing the venue and new owner was not in privity of contract with any existing contracts. They told me reservation was still good, just need to contact new owner. New owner had no idea of any contracts and is renovating venue so it won’t be available on the date booked. They canceled the contract less than 90 days prior to wedding, merely offering me my deposit back or catering with a staff of two (for 50 guests??) with no flatware or china included. Did not call me or respond to my many emails. Making me rush to make plans for my wedding less than 90 days. May file in small claims to resolve

      Ms. ******** was informed in November that as of January 1, 2024 Schmidt's would no longer be the management of record for the Reception House at Raymond. She along with the other functions holders who had deposits with us were given the option of a refund of their deposit and the opportunity to schedule elsewhere or reach out to the new management group to confirm date availability. Schmidt's is on the preferred caterer list for the new management group. Our sales coordinator called Ms. ******** and emailed as we had not had a response from her. Numerous emails went back and forth in an attempt to resolve this matter. Schmidt's suggested two options, a full refund or cater to the new facility she found at a 40% discount. Ms. ******** was not satisfied with either but did give us an updated address to send her full $1000.00 deposit refund to with the caveat that she was accepting the refund but was not satisfied and did not consider the matter resolved. Our attorney reached out to her and upon the completion of their conversation a second check was sent to Ms. ******** that she agreed would satisfy her complaint and make her "whole". It is our understanding that this matter has been resolved to her satisfaction.
