Associated Materials should be shut down. After several months, dozens of emails and call and being assured all information was received, They now want me to pay 85% of the cost of the faulty windows that are under warranty! The unfair business practices of this company should be looked into immediately. All you get is a run around to delay your claim until you forget or pay for new windows yourself. This is, bar none, the worst experience I have every had dealing with any business. They deserve a negative five star review.

I wish I could give them a negative rating. Absolutely awful company to try to deal with for window warranty, which you unfortunately will need on their "lifetime" products. Filed a claim for a leaking window/ seal issue on a simple transom window April 26th 2024 and they could not be any less responsive. The portal they use is awful and so incredibly crude, it is laughable. If you email you get an automated response, never anything more. When you call, you get agents who clearly are working remote and like to dump the calls randomly when they put you on hold to check a claim or information. Which you get to start over with a new person when you call back. If you survive the repeat holds they will tell you they need some piece of information, which you likely have provided already by updating your claim on their terrible portal. When you tell them you updated it on their portal (did I mention, its terrible) they will request you to also send it to their warranty services email as well, which you get an automated reply and no response to. It is so incredibly frustrating. As of today I am checking the afore mentioned terrible portal and see my claim is randomly denied. This is for a leaking seal on a "lifetime" warranty window that was installed by the home builder in a newly built home less than 3 years ago. I suspect they will say I didn't provide some random piece of information, since that seems to be the game so far. I having provided pictures of the window during construction of the home with their information on it, serial numbers, proved ownership of the home, etc.I should note the builder already replaced/ repaired the 2 other transom windows under their 1 year builder warranty in the first year. I wish I would have fought them to replace the 3rd. Do yourself a favor, buy someone else's products. I tell everyone I know when they talk about purchasing windows or patio doors, stay away from this company. Talking to neighbors, its all the same story.

No stars although theres no option to do so. In 2011, Total ************************ ******** NY installed AMI Preservation Perfection shingles, color Arbor, on our house and garage. The original siding was replaced 2 years later, again after 5 years, and we contacted AMI again 4 years later. The problems are manufacturing defects and color deterioration, not fading; the siding is turning a chalk white all over the house and garage. This siding is inferior and defective. The color was discontinued. Our recent claim has been denied because the 10-year warranty on the 2011 original install expired. The warranty is based on siding that was on the house and garage for only 2 years. Each time the siding was replaced we lost years on the warranty. AMI/Alside is not responding to us and does not stand behind their product propaganda citing its the industry leader in performance, guaranteed to perform for the lifetime of the product, of the highest standards, certified under VSI for color retention, a color that stands the test of time. We asked that a local rep visit us to see the awful appearance of our house. Radio silence. Also Total Home Construction is not standing behind the product. Owner emailed us stating that fading is not the issue. His house has the same discoloration and it happens to so many homes. Really?!?! Not helpful. If the contractor admits this, then stay away from AMI/Alside products and DO NOT choose AMI/Alside Preservation Perfection shingles!!!

Claim open since March 14, 2024 and at time of review on June 12,2024 I do not have a status or next steps to resolve claim. I continue to call and speak to a new Associated Material rep who will not provide an extension or my claim processor contact information. The best they do is advise they will escalate the case to the processor which hasnt done anything. Calls placed by me to Associated materials dated 4/30, 6/4, 6/10, 6/12 with the call on 6/12 yet again advising I should receive a call from my processor within a week. Ive heard this since 4/30/24. Unacceptable I can not receive a meaningful update on scheduling with window repaint of faded vinyl which is to be done by Blue Ridge Coating

This is the worst company I have ever had to work with. I have been calling since January 2024 to resolve an issue with my window. I put a claim in they finally sent someone to fix my window but did not send them enough material. He sent pictures of the problems with the window and I never heard back.. I have called them repeatedly and they always say they will get back to me. I finally got a message from them today, saying that it was not under warranty. When I looked at my warranty, it said it was under warranty, so when I called back, they hung up on me! Horrible customer service! Never deal with them again!

We have had over 10 Alside windows fail, all warranty-serviced via Associated Materials. Alside itself has had a window failure rate of over 20% with warping or cracking requiring warranty replacement of 10+ windows in our home in 8 years. Unfortunately, Associated Materials is as incompetent. ***** systems appear deliberately rigged to hang up on customers seeking information about their warranty status. After 5-6 phone calls you can sometimes get someone on the line who is vague and indeterminate about the status of the claim and when the contractor might get to the window. This has happened on over a dozen call dates over the last year. Furthermore, we have had the contractor out 3 times over the last year for one single window, and each time the new window shows up cracked, defective or in some way un-installable. This is then blamed on Associated Materials/Alside. Whatever the relationship between these two companies, both the product and the service is low-bid scam artistry. I would avoid at all costs when building a home or purchasing windows.

Associated Materials installed windows and sliding glass doors to our house several years ago, including warranty. One of my windows (large double slider) that has warped, the 2 ends of the window have bowed down by a 1/2 inch on each side, making it difficult to open and can no longer remove the window sashes to clean. I opened a claim 10/2023 and I have yet to have resolution. They first sent new sashes - and I told them that was not the problem and I would not be able to remove and replace due to the warping. I have sent pictures several times with proof of warping. I have now called 12 times since the claim was open and I am told every time I call that someone will get back to me by end of day or first thing tomorrow. Obviously that has not happened. I have received NO communication from them either way. I know are wanting me to 'just go away' - but I am going to keep calling. After reading all the reviews - I am so surprised they are still in business. I do want the BBB to get involved and hold this company responsible for their warranties and lack of communication. I have worked with 2 different people and getting the same behavior from both. No one has reached out to me after 6 months of calling every other week. One of them placed the blame on the manufacturing department, however, still no resolution. I would like the BBB to help, especially after seeing all the frustrated and angry customers. I agree with all the others - DO NOT BUY ANY PRODUCT FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Associated Materials installed windows and sliding glass doors to our house several years ago, including warranty. Oct. 2023, one of our windows broke and we called Assoc. Materials to replace it. They said regardless of whether the window was under warranty or not, I still had to go through their claims process. I filed the claim, completed the forms, all documentation, and sent several pictures of the broken window with its’ serial number. They told me my claim was incomplete, and they needed more information. The information they requested was the same as what I had sent before, but I resent anyway. They responded again by e-mail stating they needed additional information. I called and spoke with a representative that was clueless. I asked to speak with a supervisor and they said one would get back to me, but I never heard from anyone. I continued to receive e-mails stating they needed additional information. I called again, and they told me the serial # I provided did not match the window. How can that be? I took a picture of the serial # from the broken window. I said if the serial number did not match the window, then a quality issue occurred in the manufacturing process. I asked repeatedly to speak with a supervisor and they said one would call, but never did. This endless series of useless e-mails and phone calls continued from Nov. 2023 thru Jan. 2024. My attorney reach out to them, and I finally heard from Tim, the service tech, on 1/16/24. He left a vm message stating he wanted to come out to measure the window and to reach him by phone or text. After playing telephone/text tag for several weeks, we agreed on Tim coming Feb. 2, 2024. Tim confirmed the date & time, but he was a no show and didn’t even call or text to let me know he was not coming. After 3 months of these unprofessional & puerile behaviors, I was done with them. I was able to find a window company who came out immediately to measure, and within two weeks had a new window installed.

I started a claim with them in early July of '23. At the end of January in '24 I got an email that the claim was approved an would be taken care of in 6-8 weeks (weather dependent)The problem was that I had repeatedly asked to fast track the claim due to a pending sale. There's no way in h*** that I would ever do business with this brand again.

I bought my house in 2008 with siding made by associated materials company. Not very long time, I found some pieces of siding having problems with fading colors. I claimed to replace all of my siding but they refused to replaced but only replaced some pieces with fading colors. However the fading problems still continue to appear and I have been making claims and calls again and again but they still have not replaced any of them. I have such pattern siding for over 15 years and they still could not solve the problem.
