1 starThey tried to sell me a Mini Cooper that had a bad tire, and major engine issues. I took it back, they agreed to cancel the loan, but over a month later, I'm still waiting for my $500 down payment to be refunded, and they are no longer answering my calls or emails. I see now why they were trying to get a bigger down payment out of me in the first place. They tanked my credit score by about 30 points by sending off so many inquiries; after that, I went to another dealership and was able to lock in a 7.25% interest rate, while the best SVG could do was a 14%. Do not go here, under any circumstance.Review fromSteve S

Failure to complete GM warranty issues. WE HAD TO GO TO A GM approved facility, to get the truck repaired. Had truck serviced at an SVG dealership including an oil change and a certified inspection. 160 apx miles later, the engine light came on. The dipstick registered zero oil. SVG sent some one out and put 3.5 qt of oil. No one is willing to discuss long term damage to the engine running low on oil for 160 apx miles.SVG Motors Dayton

1 starTook our Truck in to trade on two used cars. They were fair on the trade value but the cars they have are all auction vehicles and they do NOTHING to them before they sell them. They’re typically very dirty, stink horribly and have major repairs needed. Avoid this place at all costs. Steve Van Gorder, the owner, obviously ok’s this. He runs terrible used cars lots. We’ve made several trips to their location in Urbana only to be told the promised repairs weren’t done after all. We’re done at this point. SVG the owner seems shady as heck to operate like this. I text the manager to tell him that I wasn’t going forward with the purchase of the vehicle and after 12 hours, I have heard nothing. Sad.Review fromStephanie P

1 starSVG brought a 2011 Toyota Sienna from Beavercreek for us to test drive. We went to test drive and loved it despite a few repairs that needed to be done. The purchase price was $12,500 which was over my budget. Mind you the Kelly Blue Book for this vehicle on the actual sale page for this van was between $9k-$11.6K I made an offer of $10K to start. By the time we finished, our deal was done at $11,150 plus taxes and fees. We shook on it, I made a down payment with check of over $7k and went home with the purchase order to send over to Wright-Patt Credit Union, which we already had a pre approval loan through, to get the rest of the money sent to them. The deal was done! The next day, I not only had the dealer that sold the car to us, but the manager that made the deal with us try to get us to fill out a pre approval loan application. I was extremely confused as I already was pre approved for the loan, we only needed them to sign the purchase order and send it over. I told them I did not want to do that as I already had a loan in place for the rest of the money. I sent over an email to the dealer Scott to print the purchase order and sign and send back over to us via email for us to sign and send to Wright Patt Credit Union. ***** was in agreement over the phone and I never received anything back from him. By the end of the working day I had the manager *****, which I never had met, call me and tell me they needed to back out of the deal because it didn't make financial sense for them to sell me the car at that price. He said they made a mistake and should have never sold it to me at that price. He told me to come get my check because they couldn't sell me the van at that price. I told him this was not best practices, it was extremely shady business, and unfortunately couldn't recommend SVG to anyone or come back to do business. full review on their Facebook and Google ReviewReview fromsummer g

1 starWOW! We have never had an experience like we did with this dealership. Worked with them for several days to purchase a vehicle from them, finally reached an agreement. We told them we’d finance through them if they would take 19500, they would not go lower than 20 so we accepted the deal and got financing through our bank. We also had paid over 200 dollars for a mechanic to inspect the vehicle for us since we live in another state. Everything was signed, money for down payment was about to be wired, we’d paid over 1k for transport, and they were already scheduled to pick up the vehicle, and the sales manager called my husband and said he “wasn’t interested and the deal was off.” My husband said he was confused, he thought everything was good to go; the sales manager just said again he was not interested and hung up on my husband. Seems a bit shady to me.Review fromrobert L

1 starWill not ever buy another car from them again. They were supposed to fix a crack in the hood of my car and they now refuse to do it. I’m very disappointed and would not recommend them to anyone. The owner is a complete piece of shit. There cars are junk and I would not recommend anyone buying a car from them.Review fromTerri W

1 starMy 83 yr old dad purchased a vehicle from SVG Motors in Urbana in September. After I reviewed the paperwork, I noticed that he paid full price for the vehicle, was sold an expensive warranty, and then received an extremely low trade in for his vehicle that was in excellent condition. My dad was given $21,500 for a vehicle that is now on their lot for $33,000. I called the sales manager Brandon Lowe to discuss why my father received such a low trade in, plus paid full price for the vehicle, and then ended up getting the most expensive warranty. Brandon was very rude and had numerous excuses for why my dad received a low trade in. Then I later found out the warranty that my dad purchased was cancelled the same day as the sale and the money sent back to SVG. I called to let Brandon know but didn't receive a phone call back for days so I decided to go in person to the dealership. Once again, sales manager was rude with finger pointing and blaming everyone else about why my dad wasn't treated fairly. He asked me what we wanted done and I told him I just wanted a fair trade for my dad's vehicle which was $28,500. He agreed and we set a date to pick up a check. When I took my dad to the dealership to pick up the check Brandon informed me that he couldn't do what he had told us. Lots of excuses. We sat in his office for over an hour when he could have informed me over the phone but instead wasted our time driving to the dealership. I told him if he couldn't give us a good trade then we wanted to keep his old car and just pay for the one he purchased. He agreed and said he didn't have anyone there to draw up the papers and would call me the next day. Got a call two days later that once again, he couldn't do what he said because it was past 30 days and we would have to purchase the car at MSRP if we wanted to keep it. Total dishonesty and/or incompetent. This dealership takes advantage of people when they can. Buyer Beware! Stay away from this dealership!Review fromBillie C

Purchased a 2016 Chevy Cruze LT1 from SVG Motors on 8/16/23 from Ken Bailey, no issue with him. *Drove out of the dealership parking lot, it was raining, the blades flew off. *Later on during that week, tire pressure lights for both of the right side wheels came on, I was putting air in the tires multiple times a week at $2 a pop. *8/26/23 The car would not start, I got a jump, went to the store, came out 20 minutes later, and the battery was dead again. *The battery was tested at Auto Zone, battery could not hold a charge, bought a new battery. For the next few weeks, I was putting air in the tires every other day. *Took car in, tires were checked, and they assumed it was a bad tire sensor and I think I was told they replaced them. PSI lights cam back on. *Week of 9/24/23, the indicator light showing "A/C is turning off" due to engine overheating came on at least two times that week. *9/29/23 Car overheated and all the warning lights came on, the car was smoking. car was towed to the dealer about 7:30am, dealer was not open, but I did leave a VM to inform them why the car was there, I did not receive a call from them, so I called the about 10am, and I was told by a Chris very rude, that he didn't call because he didn't know who's car or why it was there as if it didn't have a VIN# or plate, they have had the car since. *Multiple calls were made, no one answered the phone there ever. The two or three times we have talked to someone, we were lied to about the status of the car or we were told some would call us back, they didn't. We were told the car would be ready on 10/11, 10/12, 10/13, it wasn't. *10/14 Went to the dealer to inquire about the car, I cursed and the manager tried to weaponize Beavercreek police against me because that is the threat that is used with people of color and stood up in a threatening manner and told me that I wasn't a man for cursing at him, his feelings got hurt. He told me I should have bought the extended warranty. Zero stars!SVG Motors Dayton

We are sorry to hear about your experiences with SVG Motors and the issues with your 2016 Chevy Cruze LT1. It sounds like you've had a series of frustrating problems and difficulties with both the car and the dealership.
We also apologize for the discomfort caused during the interaction and understand your frustration with the manager's response and the overall experience. We regret if there was a perception that the call to the police was related to skin color. In today's world, ensuring safety is a priority for all individuals, and we take this responsibility seriously. Our dealerships have, on previous occasions, needed to involve authorities for various situations, irrespective of individuals' skin color.
It is important for SVG MOTORS to handle customer concerns with professionalism and empathy, regardless of the circumstances. We appreciate your feedback and will use this complaint as a learning tool to improve how our sales and service teams handle similar situations and we will strive to improve our service to ensure a better experience for all customers. 1 starI accidentally clicked on a star, but I wouldn't give it half a star. I try not to be a negative person. The young lady who I have been dealing with is actually a VERY nice person, but I feel like I was mis-lead to sign for a car that the dealership was trying to off-load. I know for a fact it has been there at least since 8/5 & I signed for it 9/20... I was presented with a paper that said "amount owed" was $18,000 on a $14,000 car so I was pretty happy with that since I've been working hard to rebuild my credit & have been a faithful customer of the finance company for 5+ yrs. NEVER missed a payment or was ever late. Then I get a letter from the finance company saying that the dealership (SVG) omitted something & that the actual amount I owe is THIRTY SIX THOUSAND dollars on a $14000 car. I was devastated. Buyer beware.....do the math before you sign ANYTHING from SVG
