I am writing to express my deep concern and frustration regarding the ongoing violation of my rights by Miami Valley Career Technology Center. As a single mother of two children, one of whom has special needs, I have faced numerous challenges in pursuing my education to become a nurse. I have dedicated myself to completing the nursing program at Miami Valley Career Technology Center, only to encounter significant obstacles that have hindered my progress and prevented me from obtaining the necessary completion letters to be sent to the nursing board. First and foremost, it is essential to emphasize that I have not worked in over a year due to my unwavering commitment to this program. I have made significant sacrifices as a single mother to prioritize my education and secure a better future for myself and my family. However, despite my dedication and the considerable personal challenges I have overcome, Miami Valley Career Technology Center has failed to fulfill its obligations in sending out the completion letters to the nursing board. In my numerous attempts to seek information regarding the status of my completion letters, I have been met with an unhelpful and dismissive attitude from the school's administration. They have consistently refused to provide me with any information or proof regarding the submission of my completion letters. This lack of transparency and accountability not only adds to my frustration but also raises serious concerns about the school's integrity and commitment to its students. Furthermore, it has come to my attention that the school was specifically instructed to send all documents electronically. However, despite this directive, the school has persistently refused to comply. This failure to adhere to the board's guidance not only displays a blatant disregard for professional standards but also indicates a lack of commitment to student success and the overall enhancement of the nursing profession.

    Business Response

The individual who sent the attached BBB complaint, Ms. *******, has also submitted the same concern directly to the district and the staff at MVCTC has been communicating with her. She was informed that the completion letter mentioned in her complaint had been already sent to the Board of Nursing, as indicated by MVCTC, and that the BON would be contacting her with additional information regarding her testing. This information was shared with all adult education practical nursing students at the end of their program and was additionally communicated to Ms. ******* via email when she reached out to MVCTC about her concern.

With that being said, we have not heard back from the complainant since my last response to her on June 16, 2023. I would be glad to discuss the situation in detail with you, if necessary.
