Consumers are advised that it is a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act to falsely state that a complaint has been filed against a consumer, to fail to disclose that a communication is from a debt collector, to make a telephone call without meaningful disclosure of the caller's identity or to falsely state and/or imply that the caller is with the attorney general's office.

This company sent me a text saying I have an outstanding debt with them when I've never done business with the company and I don't trust to open the link they sent as I've looked at Google reviews and it's filled with complaints like these. I've never done business with them. My student loans are through a separate company, my credit is through a separate company and my health bills are so there's no reason for this company to be contacting me. This was their first time contacting. I've never received physical mail, an email or any text from them before and I also haven't done anything to accrue any kind of debt in the last 3 years besides what I've stated above.

Spam dept collector. Lady was rude when I told her it wasn't a valid debt and I wanted proof. She got all (*rejected*) and said "yes it is". You have to prove it is if I ask and this company is refusing to do that so there for they can not collect from me! Plus it's not a valid debt anyway.Business response

On November 9 I won the jackpot at the casino. The lady comes back and states to call the number at the bottom of the paperwork because they intercepted your money because you have an unpaid debt.
Since that Friday was the holiday I called that Monday morning and spoke with a gentleman that informed me that I owed state taxes from the years 2007 ($800) and 2008 ($800). Remind you I file taxes every year and I’ve never owed any debt for state taxes. Then they added on another $1800.00 or so for interest.
I called back a few times because I had no understanding of where this debt came from. I asked did they send out any letters and the reply was yes back in February 2012 when you did home daycare we called but someone said you wasn’t home. Then we sent out a letter to (bogus address) and they were returned. I asked why wouldn’t you send the letter to the address on my tax return the reply was an awkward silence. Caught them in so many lies it’s ridiculous.
Fast forward yesterday received a letter stating i still owe the same amount of the total debt which was the same amount of my winnings which was ironic. Today I call and ask what is my balance and she states the same total. So I proceed to ask her what about the money that was intercepted she states it’s been pending since November 10 and it take 4 weeks to clear.
I know I am being scammed. I contacted the attorney general office and they stated they did not authorize this collection and I called the Ohio state tax department and they stated as well that I do not owe this Debt.
I asked for proof and they sent me a bill from their company.

I am rejecting this response because:None of this information matches the dates that I had with three representatives from this company in which I recorded. I asked for proof of this debt which would be letters from the state department of taxation. I spoke with the Ohio state department of tax and also the ohio attorney general office and neither one authorized this. I need a legit explanation and return of funds collected ASAP

I have no idea why my debt is with this company when I was paying on it with attorney generals office. Reliant tacked on over $100 in interest even after they told me there was no interest on it and they tacked on another $1000 in FEES they can’t even tell me. If the attorney generals office kept it and allowed me to make my final payment it would’ve only been around $560, no problem at all. Now they want me to pay for fees and interest with no explanation. I asked for proof of debt and they could give me nothing but it’s on my credit. They are a scam and the worst customer service ever. I have no grief paying what I owe without their fees and interest, but I ask what the fees they want me to pay are and I get hung up on.Business response

I was looking at my credit report and it stated that I had a collection from **** ***** for $1478 and that the collection was owed to Reliant capital solutions. When I called them it was stated that it was sent to them May 19, 2023. I did not receive a notice from them about this debt. When I called to pay what was owed they stated that I know owed them $1874.50 and the extra amount was due to their fees. I attempted to work with them and letting them know that I could not pay the extra fees but that I would be able to pay to original owed amount and they stated I needed to pay the entire thing. I have never received a notice from then concerning this debt and I have not received any messages on my phone or email stating from them that I had this debt. I am willing to pay what I owe but paying an additional $400 is a hardship and not something that I have agreed to or known about previously. I would like help in getting them to take their $400 fee off of this debt.Business response

I was told when I made a payment that I would get a receipt in my email. Called two days later and was told by someone else that I couldn’t receive a receipt for the payment I made. I’m very frustrated that they lied to me and I can not get no receipt or anything. Their response is to use my bank statement, how if they don’t update a bank statement until a new month. I have automatic payments set up and I am not receiving the correct credit on my credit report! There was a isssue with the paperwork. The first supervisor "emailed" me the paperwork after I spent almost $20 to print and special mailed it back to them. The 2nd supervisor "should have" mailed it to me but I never received it! The man just told I application is getting "REJECTED because I didnt put APARTMENT or #***!??? I dont know why this guy or company is trying to be so "detailed LEGAL about this!" I have been dealing with this collections agency for coming up on 45 days now. It is over a debt I don’t owe. I asked for proof of debt and they haven’t responded with anything. They keep telling me they are getting this proof but it has now been over 30 days and still nothing. Their people have also treated me unprofessionally. I was told by one of the people “if you just pay it we will no longer contact you”. I feel like they are trying to make this as difficult as possible in an attempt to get me just to give up. This is not the first time I’ve spoke to one of their people who has been rude to me. I started recording all their calls because of the way they speak to me. One of their people also said “sir it’s more likely that you made the mistake than a university”. I get no answers from this company just the runaround. I have asked multiple times how do I solve this people and they have no answers for me. They have threatened to affect my credit score even after I’ve reached out to them to solve this issue. It’s becoming clear they have no intention of investing this but to attempt to ware me down to pay it.Business response
