I made the most costly mistake of my life purchasing a new trailer from RV Wholesalers. I bought a 2022 Forest River Wildwood XLite 263BHXL, and have had nothing but problems. I had a major failure or breakage almost every time I took the trailer out. I was lead to believe during my purchase that if any failures occurred, RV Wholesalers would make rectifying it a breeze. That turned out to be a lie. I've sent hundreds of emails and made almost 100 phone calls regarding the quality of the trailer I purchased. Trailer repair became like a part time job. I had to micromanage, and in many cases fight tooth and nail just to get the new trailer I purchased repaired. Neither RV wholesalers or Forest River made any part of ownership and maintenance easy, each always claiming the responsibility lay with the other. · Summary of unit failures. o Shower Basin o Main Entry Door o Slide motor o Awning o Jackknife sofa support o Interior Bathroom Door o Galley tank drain pipe o Main Entry door (again) o Fireplace · Summary of time out of service. o 33 days at Hometown trailer (diagnostics) o 107 days at Hometown trailer (repairs) o 20 days a Campers Inn o 160 days total out of my possession due to repairs. Three of these repairs remain pending, and both Forest River and RV Wholesalers have refused any further assistance. Make sure you understand just how poorly trailers are made these days before you purchase. Also make sure you have the time and wherewithal to fight and micromanage every aspect of repair, RV Wholesalers and Forest River intentionally make every aspect of ownership and repair an up hill battle.

Mr. ******, I told you yesterday we were glad to help you, but you had to be cooperative and not verbally abuse my staff.  You declined and said you were taking legal action.  I also pointed out to you that your latest request for service was three months after your warranty had expired.  Even with it expiring we were able to get Forest River to cover some of the repairs, but you refused to cooperate or follow the process and again were verbally abusive with my staff.  The ball is in  your court. Be friendly and cooperative so we can get the issues handled for you under warranty even though your warranty expired.  We await your cooperation.  ***** *******

I am rejecting this response because: as we discussed, the promise to fix my open issues have been made a number of times, and that same empty promise again is not the resolution, but lip service. I will consider this matter resolved if either a) the unit is returned for a full refund of the purchase price, or b) I am compensated finacually for 160 day out of service my trailer spent in repair and for the time I spent following up and managing that service.

I am rejecting this response because:

RV Wholesalers is perfectly able to buy back the faulty unit I purchased purchased from you. You are simply refusing to do so, and refusing acknowledge my issues or your own fallings as a dealership to reasonably correct them. A dealership is the point of contact between the customer and the manufacturer. If you feel the issues I am experiencing lie more with the manufacturer, I encourage you to work with them to make it right. However, RV wholesalers is still responsible for misrepresenting the quality of my purchase, and also misrepresenting the ease of rectifying issues should they arise.  It is the responsibility of RV wholesalers to make it right.  I am not interested in adding to 160 day my unit has already been out of service, nor do i want to micromanage the repair process just to ensure you keep up your end of the bargain, you have failed to do so several times now.  I will consider this matter resolved if you, RV wholesalers, process a return.

All of your repairs have been made and any we were involved in have been paid by the factory.  The only remaining issues you have are the ones that occurred after the warranty expired and again, we are willing to help  you with those.  you cannot simply decide you want a unit bought back with no fatal flaws and get  it bought back.  Again, you are welcome to your opinion on who buys back units, but you are simply inaccurate.  We don't buy back units, the factory does.  We again are willing to assist you with your last list of repairs even though your warranty has expired, but not unless you follow the factory process and can be respectful to our staff.  Thanks- *****

In October of 2022 my travel trailer was brought in to be completely resealed, amd was there for a couple of months. Now in June of 2023 it needs to be sealed again because their sealant has failed. I was advised they would seal it and ONLY charge me for the sealant. There is a soft spot in my floor from water intrusion from their failed product and craftsmanship. I'm being told though (even though my camper has not moved since they sealed it a few months ago) that my cargo door is the cause of the water intrusion. In October there was no mention of any other leaks after they did their inspection and repairs. At this point I just want my money refunded so I can have the repairs done correctly. I no longer trust that their service department knows how to perform the repairs correctly.

Your unit was repaired nine months ago and went through a winter and now summer.  You are told by the RV manufacturer to check sealants every two to three months.  For the exact reason, heat and cold cause things to move and this sealants to move and even split.  We cannot and do not guarantee this work through a winter.  We told you we would reseal and pay for the sealant, you pay labor or vice versa.  We cannot afford to continue to redo work forever when seasons change.  I hope you can stop now with reviews and posts.

I am rejecting this response because:

What is not being understood is there are spots on the seams where there is no sealant. It not just moving. It's gone. The work wasn't completed. Sealant doesn't evaporate from what I'm being told by other RV repair facilities. So if it was pit on, it should be there. I have attached pictures to help with understanding.

On 3/6 they sent over paperwork for me to sign and pay a $1,000.00 deposit for them to hold a camper for me. After signing the paperwork and sending over my $1,000.00 I noticed a discrepancy in the price of the camper. I reached out to Tom about what I had noticed, and he told me that I already signed the paperwork, and the price was non-negotiable, and he wasn't going to take off the $1,000.00. In his original message to me he quoted the original price of the camper at $36,371.00 and that he was bringing it down to $28,621.00 which included DISCOUNTS totaling $7,750.00. After signing the paperwork, I found that he actually only gave me $6,650.00 in discounts and used the $1,000.00 deposit to make it look as though the price was still the same discounted price, he quoted me. This company has never once verified my identity or taken copies of my driver's license as it states they need to; to prove who I am at the time of signing the paperwork. They didn't hold up their end of the bargain as far as price goes and I simply asked that they give me my $1,000.00 back and they refuse to do so.

I am rejecting this response because: I had reached out to you when I noticed the discrepancy of $1,000. Attached is the response I received from you in regard to the $1,000. You said it was non-negotiable. I was coming from over 8hrs away and I was not driving all the way to you for a deal that wasn't what we discussed. You are untruthful and dishonest. This is not the proper way to do business. I asked you kindly for my deposit back considering YOU did not hold up your end of the deal and the PRICE we discussed! You never initially told me that the $1,000 rebate was up as of March 1st that was never discussed not once until after I noticed the $1,000 difference. I have asked you very kindly for my $1,000 deposit back which has gotten me nowhere. I will be contacting my lawyer and you'll be hearing from him soon. I will also be contacting google and letting everyone know to stay far away from your crooked business. July 2021 we ordered a Camper from RV Wholesalers. We put $1000 down. Invoice is attached. It was supposed to be completed the end of October. We kept asking for a VIN number so we could get a loan. We finally got a VIN number. We had a bank check for the amount due on the invoice. RV Wholesalers called and asked how we were going to pay for the remainder. We said by a check we have it right here. We were told that if we did not finance with them it would be $2000 more. We were dealing with a death of a loved on while this was going on. We asked for our deposit back and they said its non refundable. They put our $1000 on hold to use in 6 months towards something else. We would really appreciated it if they were upfront about the $2000 that is shown on the invoice. We would really like to get our deposit back as we feel that they were not upfront about the $2000.

Hello ****** *** *****, we have a finance discount which in your case was  $2,000.  The bank give us money when you do a loan through us.  If you don't do a loan the bank does not  give us any money, thus we would  not have $2,000 to give you.  What you are asking is for me to go to the bank and  ask if we can still have the money for you doing a loan, but you are not doing the loan.  Obviously, the bank is not going to do such a thing.  You changed the terms of the deal, said you would finance to get an extra $2,000 discount and then when the time came to close the deal, decided not to finance, but still wanted the discount.  I explained above why that is not possible.  Deposits are not refundable as ALL your paperwork clearly stated and even more so when a customer is asking for a deposit refund after changing the terms of the deal and being upset they cannot change the terms at the last hour.  We again as a show of  good faith will hold your deposit for six months.    Thank you and have a wonderful day!

I am rejecting this response because: I was not TOLD about the $2000 deduction UNTIL I had a check ready from the bank. I had asked several times for a Vin number for the bank. NOONE at that time stated it had to be $2,000 more.  I'm not asking for the $2,000.

I'm asking for my deposit back because it was not communicated to me about the $2000 less if I did not finance through you.

You said I changed the rules. I was not told about the rules so how can I change them?  RV Wholesalers did not put the reason for the deduction on the invoice.

RV Wholesalers needs to be more clear with invoice and be upfront with EVERYTHING.

Consumer stated that in 04/23/2021 he located the dealership online, and put a deposit down of 1000.00 for a travel trailer. Total price will be 28500.00, and the buyer wants to pay cash in the amount of 25000.00 and finance the remainder of 3500.00 for one year. I am rejecting this response because: RV Wholesalers originally told us it would be approximately 12 weeks from the time we ordered the trailer 4-23-2021 until delivery time of approximately July 23, 2021 and expected to get our VIN number about

two weeks before delivery.  We had planned my wife's vacation time around this date in good faith based on what the salesman told us, to go and pick up the trailer. That date came and went, my wife lost her paid vacation time, and the delay got

blamed on Covid-19. We find it hard to believe this dealership didn't already know about these delays but was trying to keep things under the radar to sell more trailers.  Were supposed to have price protection on the 3-4 price increases the factory has

initiated according to the salesman since our trailer has been ordered. My question with all the delays, customers opting out, losing their $1000.00 deposit, then the dealer could add on all the price increases and make a nice profit and this very well

could happen. Due to the circumstances that currently prevail, I would like to see RV Wholesalers honor their price protection they promised and let us opt out of their financing program with no penalties and pay cash or cashiers check. We don't want

a lien put on our trailer. A little help from RV Wholesalers from the losses we have encountered from these delays would be greatly appreciated.

Better Business Bureau: I don't think customers ought to be forced to do RV Wholesalers financing program, just to get their discount, when we want to pay cash for total ownership.  This is supposed to be a wholesale outfit, financing is great for those

who want to go that route, but cash buyers shouldn't be penalized with having to pay extra costs to have their trailer free and clear, if they choose to pay cash. There should be a law against this activity, this is not right!

I purchased a 2021 Rockford Roo 233s from RV Wholesalers in May 2021. When I picked up the RV in May, the delivery person pointed out that the refrigerator was shore power (120V) or gas. However, from my conversation with the sales person, he gave me the option for a larger 12v only fridge or a smaller unit with 12v and LP gas. Because I wanted a backup, in addition to 12v, I concurred with the 12v/gas option. The sales person never once said that the RV fridge would be electric 120v instead of 12v.Because I was anticipating using 12v more on a consistent basis to power the fridge and other items in the trailer, I had the camper fully equipped with solar to assist with this. If I had known that the fridge was shore power (120v) only, I would not have considered solar the way I did. I have attempted contact multiple times to remedy this issue but nobody returns my calls. I feel like RV Wholesalers has abandoned their support after they sold me the RV.

      Business response

      10/12/2021

Mr. ******, let me start by thanking you for your business, it is greatly appreciated.  As for your issue with the refrigerator, you have filed your  complaint against the wrong entity.  Forest River built your RV and Forest River is responsible for the refrigerator put into the RV. I will tell you however, that Forest River did not do this to anger you or make your life difficult it was simply the only refrigerator available right now.  So it is the one they are using.  They are not offering replacements because they don't know when or  if they will ever get the type of refrigerator you are wanting from their suppliers.  The RV industry like all other industries is affected by supply chain issues, labor shortages, etc.  So, I understand you are upset, we are upset as well, but there is simply nothing that can be done.  Acting like this  hasn't been explained and filing a BBB complaint won't change the restrictions we all live under.  I again appreciate your business, I wish we could get the refrigerator from Forest River, but again, we cannot.  they are also not going to change out thousands of fridges after the fact and lose hundreds of  thousands of dollars.  Hope this makes sense this time and have an amazing day.

****** I never said anything about a replacement fridge. The BIGGEST issue that I have with RV Wholesalers is that I have attempted to contact you multiple times to try to figure out what to do. However, nobody from your sales, service, or you ******* as an owner have even once tried to call me back.

My problem is the power source for the fridge. I tried to ensure that I ordered everything to make sure this fridge would be able to run while moving down the road. If the power requirement had been ordered correctly, I would not be making this complaint. Mind you, I am aware of what can be done to accomplish what I am looking for - and that is to setup a 3-way fridge. THIS IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO REACH YOU ABOUT!!! If you had just returned my calls then I would not be going this route.

I don't want a replacement fridge. I just want you to help me make this right to where I can operate the fridge in all situations. I do not want to use LP because it is dangerous.

You guys can do this. I know you can. I just don't think I should be responsible for fronting the cost of this customization when you ordered it incorrectly.

Sir, it was ordered correctly, there are shortages. Also, I cannot return a call if a message is not left for me. You have my email and did not email me even one time. Again, you need to file against forest river. This was not of our doing. Also, why go straight to the bbb without addressing your concerns with the owners as you agreed to do in writing? All you had to do was email. We cannot find what you need and wanted, it simply does not exist. Again, this is a forest River issue.

I am rejecting this response because:

You keep mentioning that the order was created correctly. It was not. When I picked up the trailer back in **** **** (our sales person), said he "ordered" the smaller fridge because he knew that we were wanting to use the 12v charging system from solar to keep the fridge running. The smaller unit also came with gas which was another backup. I agreed to this because my primary objective was to have the solar keep the battery charged while the fridge was running and we were going down the road. This was the understanding. So, regardless, the fridge was ordered wrong. This was not a slip-up from the manufacturer.

Now, as I mentioned before, I am not seeking a replacement refrigerator. When the issue was found when I picked up the trailer, **** said that I could reach out to the service department so I can try to come up with an option to help. He said that getting a replacement fridge was possible but the turnaround was going to take a considerable amount of time due to issues with the factory, etc. This is what I assuming that you are still experiencing. After this was discussed, I mentioned that setting up the fridge 3-way would be good for me. I wanted this to be accomplished via the service department so the warranty would stay in place.

Since May, I have been trying to get a resolution to this. I have contacted the service department in Ohio and Texas and nobody returns my calls. They cannot speak to me at the time when I call as well. I have also reached out to **** multiple times and that has become a dead end as well. I have also called to the Ohio RV Wholesalers office and left a message specifically for ***** ******* and not once has he returned my call. He is either too busy, is away, or on vacation. This last time I called the Ohio office which was about two weeks ago from current date, I even warned the person who answered the phone that if the owner didn't call me back that I was going to file a complaint with the BBB. I was never provided an email.

I would not be filing a complaint if ya'll had just answered your phone and/or returned my calls. I don't like doing this kind of thing but I feel I have been forced due to your terrible handling of this. I want this fridge situation fixed. Again, I don't need a new one...I just want it to operate when going down the road on 12v.

We are unable to change the operation of the fridge. Also, you did not leave a message with service and not get a returned call. Service nor I ever go home before ALL messages are returned. The only option here is Forest River. Send me an email with what you want, very detailed and I will forward it to first River for you. Finally you have our email, it was sent to you in an email offering our help. You never emailed it. Going this route does nothing but harm the exact people trying to assist you. Ask for help, before demanding it. Works better in my experience. ************************ is the email for the second ti.e.

I am rejecting this response because:

I am getting very tired of being accused of not communicating. If you had really responded back, I would not have created this BBB complaint. This complaint was only a last resort and like I said on the previous message, the last time I called RV Wholesalers, I mentioned to the person who answered the phone that if ***** ****** did not call me back within a few days after he returned from vacation, I was going to file this complaint. ***** did not call me back...and hence, here we are!

I have sent an email to "************************" like you requested in the response from you today. This is the first time I have seen this email. Until I get some sort of tangible response to this, I will not close this complaint.

I accept the business's response to resolve this complaint for now.  The owner has directly responded back to my email. If the communication to RV Wholesalers once agains turns into a dead end, I will re-open the BBB complaint.

I purchased a new travel trailer. I payed for an awning to go above the kitchen slideout. I have asked the company to make it right and I haven't been reimbursed, or for them to have another dealer install the awning. I've been in contact with the manufacturer, and I have the correspondence I could send to you and the invoice. Thank you. ****** *****

The camper purchased from this dealership arrived with a dent in the side, countertop peeling and screws missing. I have contacted them 38 times and still have not heard anything. Every time I reach out to the dealership I get told they will have to get ownership involved and call me back. I have kept a 13 page document detailing the date, time, person trying to contact and with what concern I was trying to resolve. I have sent the document to all parties involved at the dealership and nothing not a call, email, or text. All I want is to get the brand new camper we bought from RV Wholesalers fixed.

      1. We got a quote on 2021 Winnebago Micro Minnie 1708FB at $21,656.94 on 1/29/2021 from RV Wholesales LLC, its Ohio Office. [email protected] 2. Over the phone, the sales rep told us the RV will be ready in about 4 months. We were very happy, thought it would be just in time for our summer trip. Same day, we put a deposit at $1000 for a custom order. 3. We went ahead to book our trip such as campground and entry fees for a summer trip. 4. On April 13, I was told by the scheduler that the unit wouldn't be delivered to us on the estimated time. "end of summer or early fall" was all we got. 5. On 9/9 during a trip of ours, we received an email from RV Wholesalers that the unit was ready for pickup. 6. On 9/13/2021, when we returned home and called their office, the same sales rep, we asked to cancel the order and got the deposit back, because the unit far exceeded the estimate time and thus we do not need this RV anymore. The rep said no deposit refund will be issued to us.

Mr. ****, as you know all deposits are not refundable and you signed several documents stating such.  Also, ALL Rv's are delayed right now.  All furniture is delayed right now, call cars are delayed right now.  Everything in America is delayed right now due to Covid and it's new variants.  We are all in the same boat together, Covid has  affected the RV industry like all the rest.  You were not lied to or even misled.  We told you what the factory told us and you did get a unit built for you.  I have attached some of the paperwork you signed to help you remember.  Thank you- David

The delay is unreasonable. One or two month delay is reasonable and we could afford to wait. 4 or 5 month delay is way too much. The whole traveling season is over. The built for us is quite standard, we are sure you as a business have no problem to sell the unit to another customer quickly, even at a higher price, as the RV market has a big shortage. It will be a problem for us to re-sell due to the one year financing commitment. Why do we need two RVs? We had to purchase an RV for our booked summer trip because of your delay. Holding an RV for one year in our hand, regardless using or not using it, will depreciate the value quickly. We will be losing money resulted from the delay.

The solution we are seeking: 1. Full refund. Or, 2. Removal of one year financing commitment, without impacting the sale price.

Mr. ****, your deposit is not refundable.  You signed documents stating such in numerous places and I provided them to you.  I will let you out of the purchase, but we will not refund your deposit.  If it is so easy for us to sell the RV then it  would be just as easy to for you to sell it.  Again, we will make your deposit available for you for one year.  Thanks- David

      Customer response

      09/20/2021

The 12 month financing commitment made us to re-sell the RV impossible in 1 year. After this 1 year, the RV will depreciate even if we do not use the RV at all. David didn't answer our second proposal. If the refund is not possible, we have to seek to sell the unit to others ourselves, thus we requested as in proposal two "2. Removal of one year financing commitment, without impacting the sale price". Please respond. we want to pay off the financing loan in the first month, so we gain the full ownership of the RV from the financing bank in order to transfer the ownership to a new owner.

If as David claimed, we are on the same boat for the delay because of the RV parts supply shortage, the seller must make its own adjustment and compromise, it is not fair for the customer to eat up the entire inconvenience and sacrifice. BTW, I do not understand what you mean by "make the deposit available for one year."
