I've purchased many items with this name on them. They are roughly molded, sometimes with bubbles in the glass, however I've only ever had one item break on me. When contacted they immediately offered a replacement and informed me how not to use the item in question. It took a while to receive it but so far it's holding up as I'd expect their products to.Customer communication 2 stars Follow through 2 stars (item boxed feb 2nd, shipped out march 11th. Was sitting somewhere)

      Dear Better Business Bureau,

Anchor Hocking glassware products have been a reliable and safe part of households worldwide for generations.

We received an email from consumer on January 6, 2025, requesting a replacement measuring glass.  We responded on January 24, 2025,the replacement would be issued with our compliments, and she may expect delivery within 8-10 weeks.

Consumer recontacted on March 11, 2025, wanting the status of her replacement request.  We responded the replacement had not shipped to date.We then asked our ******************* to ship her request as soon as possible.

The request was shipped to consumer on March 11, 2025.  The *** tracking number for her shipment shows it was delivered on March 11, 2025, at 4:10 pm and was met by consumer,

If we may be of further assistance, please feel free to contact.

      Sincerely,

      ANCHOR HOCKING COMPANY

When I reached out to you innitially I never 'requested' a replacement. I informed you the glass measuring jar was cracking in a very odd manner (inside the glass with no physical feel on the outsides and no leaking). I followed that up asking why this might be happening. Your immediate response was to offer a replacement and not answer my question.

Like preceding customer complaints in this ********************** forum. I experienced exploding glass. I transferred a brand new square 3 3/4 cup Anchor Hocking glass container with about two cups of leftover pasta into a standard microwave oven for 110 seconds. I covered the container with a standard microwave cover bowl with exhaust port for steam. The explosion blew the container into very small, razor sharp chard and needle-shaped splinters. Removing the mess from the microwave felt dangerous. Anchor ****** its products to Petri as a comparable preference. After using Petri-brand glassware in high school labs for 30 years without incident, I was quite surprised by their confidence.

Thank you for taking the time to contact the BBB regarding your Anchor Hocking bakeware.Anchor Hocking bakeware products have been a safe and reliable part of households worldwide for generations. The material used in glass bakeware for over forty years is soda lime glass, which has been subjected to a manufacturing process known as tempering. It is the same process used to produce tempered safety glass found in many windows or glass shower doors, etc. A characteristic common to this glass is the manner in which it breaks. It will generally break into many smaller rounded pieces, some larger, which are less likely to cause a serious injury. If a problem occurs the glass releases a small amount of energy, which can result in a loud sound and travels outward. Although this method of failure can sometimes be unsettling, it is specifically made this way to protect the consumer. A warning on our care/use/warranty, bakeware packaging and Bakeware Facts on our website describes this mode of failure. Anchor Hockings glass bakeware products are manufactured in full compliance with industry standards set by Cookware Bakeware Alliance. For more information regarding tempered bakeware products please visit, *************************************************** If the damaged glass (as much as possible, unclean) is available let us know, include your address (NO PO BOX), and we will send a *** return label to return the glass for product analysis. Without having the failed glass for analysis, we are unable to determine the cause of the incident (pictures will not determine). Once the analysis is completed, we will be in contact with our findings. Also, when we identify the baking dish a replacement will be issued with our compliments. Finally, Anchor Hocking is deeply committed to manufacturing safe bakeware products. Based on our extensive research and testing tempered soda-lime-silicate glass bakeware has an excellent safety and customer satisfaction record.Again, we apologize for the inconvenience you experienced in this matter. My Anchor Hocking glass baking dish literally exploded in the oven. This was a glass rectangular 9x13 dish taken from the cupboard (room temperature) and placed with food taken from the refrigerator into an oven preheated to 350 degrees. After approximately 10 minutes, I heard a loud explosion and discovered that the dish with the contents had shattered in my oven. This could have caused serious injury if it had happened when the oven door was opened. People need to be informed that this happens even when the glassware is used according to their guidelines. Incredibly dangerous.

Thank you for taking the time to contact the Anchor Hocking Company. Anchor Hocking strives to understand and resolve all product issues. We have been in contact with Lorna Burns regarding the problem she recently experienced with her baking dish. We explained the method of failure for tempered bakeware products. If a failure occurs with tempered glass it will break into many smaller rounded pieces, some larger, which are less likely to cause serious injury. This method of failure is by design and is in fact a safety feature rather than evidence of a safety hazard. A warning on our care/use and bakeware packaging describes this mode of failure. Anchor Hocking’s glass bakeware products are manufactured in full compliance with industry standards set by Cookware Bakeware Alliance. For additional information regarding tempered bakeware we referred Ms. Burns to visit https://www.anchorhocking.com/bakeware-facts Ms. Burns has the damaged glass, and because we would like to determine the cause of the incident, she experienced we are sending a prepaid shipping label to have the glass returned for product analysis. Additionally, we would like Ms. Burns to continue to use Anchor Hocking products, therefore, we have issued a replacement baking dish and complimentary beverageware set with our compliments. Finally, Anchor Hocking is deeply committed to manufacturing safe bakeware products. Based on our extensive research and testing tempered soda-lime-silicate glass bakeware has an excellent safety and customer satisfaction record.
