On 11/3/2024, I used the *** Store in *********, **** to ship 4 boxes of glass pool tile back to Blue Water Pool Mosiacs as a return for refund. The employee at *** advised me to ship the pool tile in the original boxes even though I had brought in a larger box and shipping tape to put them in. She said, "You can just ship them as is." She even offered to tape the boxes up to seal them for me. I spent $283.32 for shipment. All 4 boxes of pool tile were damaged during shipment so the *********************** company would not give me the expected refund of $549.03. I filed a damage claim with *** and they denied my claim due to improper packaging. Although the *** store employee helped me with packaging, she inputted "customer packaged" on the receipt so they are stating that the damage done is a result of the way I packaged the boxes. My packaging didn't meet the *** packaging guidelines. I have corresponded with the *** claims department and the store owner multiple times to resolve this issue and they are refusing to give me money back for the damaged items or the shipping costs. One of the 4 boxes of tile never even made it to the *********************** company. It was returned back to the *** store on Dec. 3, 2024 and the store didn't even call me to tell me they had received that box back. When I called and asked about it on Dec. 15, the store owner, ****, said that box of tile was also damaged. She said she couldn't do anything to make this situation right, even though her "young employee" made an error by telling me to ship the boxes that way, against the *** packaging guidelines. She just said that it was my choice to ship them in the original boxes. If the packaging did not meet *** guidelines, this was the fault of the *** store employee. At the very least, I believe I should be given my $283.32 back because they failed to do the service rendered.
