    I rented a cabin from A Beautiful Life In Hocking Hills from Friday 8/11/23 through Sunday 8/13/23 and was charged a little over $400. The place was extremely tiny and we only paid the high ticket price because of a hot tub being in the backyard. When we arrived to the premises on Friday evening, we found a hose turned on in the hot tub overflowing it with freezing cold water. We immediately tried to call Cheryl but could not get ahold of her. The second night after hiking all day we assumed that the water would be heated enough for us to enjoy, only to find out that the hot tub was not working. We again tried to call Cheryl with no response. When I had finally gotten ahold of her a few days later via phone, she was extremely rude and hung up the phone on me.

    I had made a reservation for November 23rd 2022 and checking out on the 27th. I had questions about the reservation and sent an email and asked them to contact me. I didn’t receive an answer so I called and there was just a recording to leave a message. So I did and canceled my reservation via a voicemail to ###-###-#### on 10/28/2022 and again asked for them to call me to confirm my cancellation. I never got a return call. I called back 27 times and still no reply just voicemail. Their contract states that a deposit of $353.90 was due at time of reservation and the balance 931.54 is due 14 days before arrival date of November 23,2022. Instead Dewberry Cottages (now under the name of A Beautiful Life In Hocking Hills) charged my credit card the full amount on the same day I made the reservation October 27, 2022. I called my credit card company Barclays, but they couldn’t get a refund even though Dewberry Cottages didn’t abide by their own contract. I felt I had to make reservations elsewhere because I assumed they were refunding my credit card company. I have tried to work this out with Dewberry Cottages and finally spoke with a person at the phone ####-###-####, he didn’t state his name, but he said he wasn’t the one to speak to about this. He took my name and number, but again I have not received a call back. Now it’s been two weeks. According to the attached page of the contract that was supplied to Barclays from Dewberry, the most I should have lost was my deposit and the full amount should NOT have been charged to my Barclays credit card at time of booking. Also attached are my phone records of how many times I tried to call Dewberry Cottages and had to leave Voicemails which were never returned.
