Nathan H***** presented himself as a furnace on February 28, 2024. He replaced two furnaces for me on March 8. As of April 5 these furnaces still did not function properly. I replaced these furnaces on April 6. The new installer noted: 1. The air return from rooms to furnace intake was cut too small, restricting air flow. 2. The fresh air intake and exhaust to both furnaces were situated too close together on the outside walls, causing CO fumes to be pulled into the fresh air intakes. 3. A former exhaust vent rising through the center of the house through a stud wall had been “sealed” with a plastic fast-food cup. 4. The original exhaust of the larger furnace was left open, unsealed. 5. Gas pipe plumbing both through the basement and within each furnace was untrue. 6. No pipe dope was used to seal the gas pipe connections. 7. No GFCI protection was added to the furnace wirings to protect their electronics. 8. Vinyl tubing carrying carbolic acid from the condensate pumps was inadequate and improperly routed. 9. Carbon monoxide detectors were not installed. They are required by code. 10. Gas inlet orifices were misaligned, contributing to gas leakage. 11. The electronic settings were wrong, also contributing to gas leakage. 12. Instead of modifying the filter housing to each furnace, H***** Complete left open the door of the existing filter housing and placed a minimal filter on the basement floor to cover it up. It was unattached to the furnace itself, assuring that half of the air taken in by the furnace was unfiltered. 13. The sheet metal modifications were horribly sloppy, posing a cutting hazard.
