I contracted with The Fence Company (TFC) to install 135 feet of vinyl privacy fence for $9,600. On 5/8/23 I delivery a $4800 deposit and signed contract. The fence was installed on 6/6. On 6/7 I received an invoice for the balance plus an add'l $80 for extras they claim to have performed. On 6/8 I spoke with a manager at TFC stating I would not pay the $80 as I believe the add'l work was neither warranted nor performed. On 6/9, I sent a check for the $4800 balance. By July, I began seeing gaps in the fence. After further examination, I found that the installers neglected to secure any end channels to the posts that are required and clearly shown on the manufacturer's written instructions. On 7/11, I emailed TFC about the gaps and the installation. On 7/13, the mgr asked that I send photos, which I did later that day. He said he would contact me "early next week" with a plan to resolve this. Eleven days later I had heard nothing. On 7/24, I emailed asking for a status update. He responded later that day saying he would get the work scheduled and let me know the date. 5-1/2 weeks later I had heard nothing. On 8/31, I sent yet another email asking for an update. Finally, on 9/22 he responded that a crew would be out on 9/25 to correct this. The crew showed up a day later on 9/26 but did nothing to correct the gaps; said they could not correct this, and left. On 10/3 I sent an email to TFC stressing my disappointment and frustration and asked that they contact me to resolve this. No response. I sent another email on 10/12. Again no response. I called on 10/16, and the mgr said they would need to rebuild the fence, and he hadn't been able to find a crew to do this, and wasn't sure when he ever would. I said this is unacceptable, and appeared I needed to take legal action in order to get them to do anything. He said the TFC owner would call me later that day. Two days later, I have not heard from either of them, hence this complaint.
