We had our picture taken on 3-5-25.The photographer was ok and seemed to know his job. Unfortunately, we feel that we were taken by the price. There was no price sheet presented and we asked for one only to be told he didn't have one. We paid $212 for 3 5x7 pictures. We didn't even know the price until our credit card was run.Buyer beware!!Universal Church Directories, LLC

We are deeply sorry for any inconvenience this has caused ***** and her husband. Universal Church Directories has been in business for over 20 years. We proudly serve ******* families each year, 4000 families a week. We have 100 photographers in the field and operate in 32 different states. This is not how Universal operates and we do not condone this type of behavior. When Universal was notified of this incident, we immediately took disciplinary action against the photographer. He was written up and taken off schedule for additional training. We have spoken with ***** in an attempt to make things right, and refunded her order. Again, we are deeply sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.Review fromRic H

We had our pictures taken on 11/9/23. No price sheet would be given to us. The photographer spent more time on his cellphone than talking to us after pictures were taken. The pictures were not good (super dark background, did not like the poses). Have tried many times to call, had to wait long times on phone. When we did talk to someone, they told us they called and left messages, but we did not have those calls listed on our phone and did not have any messages. At one time we were told we would get money back, but that hasn't happened. The customer service is not good, and they don't seem to care about the customer. I wish I could give zero stars.Universal Church Directories, LLC

Universal has been in contact with ******* several times. When she contacted us in December 2023 about an issue with her order, we immediately fixed the issue and reprinted her order and sent it to her. After talking in April 2024, she asked if there would be any compensation for the inconvenience in December. After many attempts to credit her, we were able to get the information needed to credit her account. We are sincerely sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.Review fromSharon R

When we received our photos we found we needed to order a couple more. We also received the photos "postage due". The post offices confirmed that the postage meter was the companies not the Postal Services. So I sent one day trying to call them (telephone was not answered), going online (their system would not take my password and order number). Sooo I sent them an email- that was 6 weeks ago- they have still not replied to that email. I finally got a hold of them and ordered the additional prints. Received them today- guess what "postage due". If I need more prints I think I will have to get another photographer to take them. I do not understand the nonexistent customer service they offer. It is my understanding that their meter needs to be updated with more current information- but even after being notified the first time- they still did not fix it. We spent quite a bit of money- to have to get nickeled and dimed by things like postage due shortages.Universal Church Directories, LLC

Universal contacted ***** by email, we stated that we would like to reimburse him for the issues he had. In response from *****, he stated that he had his pictures and that he paid the postage due and that things happen. Throughout the country there are certain post offices that will charge our envelopes as a small package. This only happens every once in a while and we will reimburse the customer when this happens. I am very dissatisfied with our experience with this company. The photographer has no clue what she's doing. It took way too long to have our pictures taken. You don't pose people for pictures. It's unnatural. Any photographer especially professional knows that. We just received our pictures we had taken for our church's directory. The lighting in our family photo is horrible. Where are oldest son is standing in the picture it's very dark and you can't see his face clearly. The free 8x10 we received isn't any better as far as lighting and the bottom of the picture was cut off due to not centering the picture correctly. I feel like our time and money was wasted. If you are a church looking to have a church directory done look elsewhere. I hope and pray our church never uses this mediocre company again. I will make sure our church staff knows how unhappy I am about this company. If I could give 0-1/2 a star that's would I'd give them.Universal Church Directories, LLC

Universal was able to get in contact with *********, to address the concerns and issues with her order. We were able to get the issues resolved. Our order was marked as deluxe by the photographer. This meant the picture had a hard backing. For 6 pictures it was $15 each ($90). It was never discussed with us or approved by us. I know we signed the order, but did not expect the order to be different then what we discussed. Very disappointed in the entire process. I called customer service and sent an email. Received an email back stating customer service was one of their top priorities and to call them back which I did. I was again told that irregardless of what the photographer DID NOT discuss with us, if it was on the paper and I signed it they could do nothing about it.Universal Church Directories, LLC

The photographer was as professional as he could be, but was not honest with his prices. I was charged $141.77 for a retouch to my glasses, because I have tint to them, they cut and pasted my eyes from another photo and didn't bother to fill in the black cast from where they cut, my mother asked to have her cane removed from the photo it was not. They had notes to do ALL of this before it was sent to our homes, and they did NOTHING we asked. SO, yes, I will get my refund, and you can have this mess your company took. Be honest with your business practices, this man was not. We took him at his word and he did not deliver, you all need to close this business.Universal Church Directories, LLC

Universal Church Directories has reached out to ****** and upon further investigation we found that a new Photographer with our company failed to properly fill out her custom portrait order form. We immediately issued a full refund. Further this photographer is no longer employed by Universal Church Directories. We apologize for this error and for the inconvenience to **************. My family took our pictures on 10/28/23. It was a super fast process, no price sheet was ever shown. We picked out a framed picture with 3 photos, 4 pictures at the 3.5x5 size, one 5x7, and the “free” 8x10 which is actually $15. The total was $296.44. After we left, I decided that this was too expensive, sent an email, and received a response to call them. I called them 10/30/23 to cancel the framed picture and one of the 3.5x 5 prints. After receiving a charge card statement, there was no credit to the account, I called Universal Church Directories again on 11/30/23. They said there was a credit issued for $14.87, the representative told me that the prints were $40 each for 3.5x5 and 5x7. With my changes, that would be four prints at $40 a piece that would be $160+$15 for the 8x10, that should be $175. Which honestly is still a lot of money. That would be approximately a refund of $121.44, not $14.87. The representative had to check to see why this didn't add up and call me back, she left me a message to say that I was initially undercharged, so this is the correct amount. Basically, they changed the prices on me, which is very dishonest. For $14 less I am getting a lot less pictures, which makes no sense at all. It is now 12/5/23, I still have no product, and was charged a total of $281.57. I would like to be refunded.Universal Church Directories, LLC

**************** family were photographed at their church St. Barabus Catholic Church on 10/28/23. ****** called our office on 10/30/23 to change her custom portrait order. There was a miscommunication regarding exactly what she wanted to change initially resulting in a credit of $14.87. Our customer service representative thought she wanted to cancel a portion of her order and add additional portraits. She did not wish to add additional portraits. We have credited her an additional $138.12 for our error. We apologize for the error and hope **************** family enjoys their custom portraits.
