I applied for a rebate in June 2024 and have yet to receive it. Ive followed up multiple times and have not received any response. Very disappointed with the lack of communication and follow-through. Claim # ****

This rebate is handled by a third party. Clopay has communicated with the consumer and gave him the correct contact information to follow up on his rebate.

Thank you for your response. However, I would like to clarify that while Clopay states they have provided the correct contact information for the third-party rebate provider, I have reached out multiple times and still have not received a response or resolution. Simply redirecting me without ensuring that the issue is actually resolved is not ************* the company offering the rebate, Clopay has a responsibility to ensure that their customers are supported through the entire processnot just passed off to another party. The lack of follow-through and accountability has been extremely frustrating.I would appreciate direct assistance in resolving this issue rather than being asked to chase down a third-party company with no results. My claim number is 2778, and I expect this to be handled promptly.

Bought a door from Clopay door from **********. Installed by a local company and 4 days later the spring that opens the door broke. Received a replacement spring but had to pay the installer AGAIN to replace it on my door. ********** told me to contact Clopay for a refund, Clopay told me to contact **********. It was a manufacture error but I get stuck with paying the installer twice???

Clopays warranty is for product only, labor is not included. In this particular order, Clopay is reaching out to the customer to discuss her experience.

I am going to make this short. I had 2 garage doors and one had a dent. They were great garage doors and never gave us any problems. Since one had a dent I purchased a new set of doors for appearances sake. The doors came from this company and were installed by contractors. We had one hard rain and a lot of water somehow came through the door. It took quite awhile to clean up. This was a surprise to me as this had never happened before the new doors were installed. I called the chain store I purchased from. The contractor was sent back to inspect doors. I was told doors were fine no problem. I stated yes it was a problem and I needed it fixed. I was told several things I could do to help seal the leak-caulking and buying a larger bottom seal and adding a stiff insert. I told them I never had this problem with my old doors therefore the new doors were the problem. Eventually they sent someone to caulk and do insert. This slowed and did not stop leaking. I told them and sent pics. After a time they sent a door maker ***resentative out. I showed her how the water came through when I put water near the bottom seal. It was recorded by the **** I finished doing the water, hung up the hose, Went in through the house to the garage and was *** hinted I sprayed water directly at garage door. I did not. I could hear water hit the door when she ***layed recording to prove it. A small amount and due to an old attachment some came out sides. As we were listening the recording and discussing it You could see water continuing to seeping into garage. I said look I am not spraying now and it is still coming in as we speak. No answer on her part. I was told the team would meet and discuss it and they would get back to me. This was Dec 9. It is now Jan 14 and I still havent heard anything.Check others peoples experiences. I would have never purchased from this company if I had read previous reviews. Now I have leaking doors I have to figure out.

I purchased 2 Clopay garage doors installed by a contractor in 2016; invoice has been sent to Clopay and available upon request. Hardware, including rollers, were upgraded with ********* extended warranty, which covers "limited lifetime" warranty for the rollers (warranty detail document is available upon request). The rollers have been worn out with loud noise and wobble; Clopay has not honored the warranty and closed the case on my claim as of 11/20/2024.

Clopay will be sending rollers out at no charge to the consumer. Typically, Clopay only warrants parts that break and we require photos to start the warranty claim. When the consumer first reported he mentioned the rollers were not actually broke and no photos were ever sent in for us to process the warranty claim.

If there was a negative option, I would have chosen it in a heart beat. We did a Garage Build Design project and ***** **** Garage Doors is the company they go through which is part of Clopay. They sent two different springs for the garage door, even though they were the same company that sent the garage door in the first place so they knew the weight and size. Contractor tried installing the springs given and after multiple adjustments was not able to get it to fit and function according to the instructions given with the door kit. We had to hire a professional specialty garage door installer to diagnose and fix the issue which was due to ******Clopay sending the incorrect springs for the weight and size of the door. They were two different sizes and weights. This resulted in us having to go back to ******* and figure out the correct ones on our own, and have the specialty service come back out to install the correct ones. Both ******* and ***** customer service was non-existent and the worst we have ever dealt with. We tried reaching out to Ideal directly to remedy getting a refund for the incorrect springs and sending them back. They continued to waste our time with more and more requests through email for the same information and order specifications that we provided when we reached out in the first place. This is the worst company to attempt to communicate with and try to get to actually perform their job at all. Save yourself the time, money, and headache and go with a local and reputable company for your products don’t go through ******* or ***** Door Garage Doors or anyone that does business with them for your build plans.

This is not a normal practice for the incorrect parts/springs to be sent out. A Clopay representative has reached out to the consumer to remedy the situation.

Does not honor warranty. After 1 year the track for the door that the roller sits on became warped. I contacted Clopay and was told it was not covered after a year. The manual states that there is a 3 year coverage on Hardware. It would seem if a problem arises the customer can forget about getting help from Clopay and to take care of the problem themselves.

      Clopay Building Products Company, Inc.

Clopay emailed the consumer to get more information to be able to investigate the complaint. The customer responded they already have service scheduled and would not give any information for Clopay to investigate.

Clopay ripped me off for $466. I purchased two garage doors from **** ***** that included all materials and all labor. I measured the doors and ** provided a quote. CP conducted a site inspection and confirmed the measurements were accurate and indicate the order would be submitted. Without the promised notice during the site inspections, CP's inspector, claiming 30+ years' experience, said everything was covered. Several days later I received an email from CP that the order was on hold, and I needed to call **. I was told that someone at CP decided I had to have a piece of wood mounted on the wall behind the spring. From a picture CP sent, ** said it looked like just a "scrap of wood". CP's installation manual indicated it was part of a normal installation, but contrary to ** contract it was not part of the included materials or labor. CP & ** refused to compromise and ending up pocketing +23% more for their pockets.

Clopay along with the **** ***** had a conference call with the consumer to explain that they will be installed retrofit doors, as his existing old garage doors has extension springs and the new order for Clopay doors has torsion springs. A spring pad is required for mounting torsion springs to the header. After the site check is completed, Clopay notifies **** ***** of any additional changes/charges to be able to complete the install of the garage doors that the consumer had ordered. As a customer goodwill Clopay offered the consumer a $100 reduction on the pricing for the spring pads for this order. The consumer seemed happy with this and will be proceeding with their order.

In addition to Clopay/**** ***** misrepresenting my purchase of two garage doors, torsion spring systems and labor expenses, Clopay is misrepresenting the conference call with me. I made great effort to make it clear that I was not happy and at the end of the conversation and closed by passing on my disappointment with Clopay's manipulation. During the conference call I referred to Clopay's torsion spring system installation manual's description how the springs were affixed, how the person conducting the "site inspection" claimed to have 30+ year experience, how the purchase document (3 pages) from **) indicated I would be advised of necessary changes and possible additional charges during the site inspection (which never occurred), and the fact that the site inspector was within 18" of the area in question but left my home saying everything was great. Clopay referred to a 6-page sales document that I was never made aware of. WATCH OUT FOR CLOPAY'S BAIT AND SWITCH TACTICS!

Does not honor terms of its warranty. Very shady company. Garage door broke after install and took 8 months to come out and look at it.Then denied any wrong doing and tried to make us pay them to fix it.

Per inspection by our installer, the damaged top section of the garage door has undermined root cause of damage. Installer has confirmed that garage door is installed correctly and installer operated the door manually without any issues except that it has the damaged top section that should be replaced. During the installation of the garage door in November 2023, our installer did not reattach the existing garage door opener as there are no safety sensors. Installer indicated that when he went to site for the service inspection, it was determined that the customer reconnected and is operating opener with no safety sensors which may have contributed to the damage.

That is the furthest thing from the truth. No we will not be proceeding with the order. We hired a new company to look at it and give us an estimate. Take a look what they said! It proves you are a shady company and lie to customers. This is their invoice: ******************* Call. This is a newer 16'x7' door and is not installed properly. This has caused the door to self destruct. The door tracks are the wrong radius and the door strut has been bent to make way for flapper or cheater brackets. The J-Arm was mounted to high on the top panel as well. The door opener adjustments were set to high and bent the top panel when the door got jammed. All problems are due to a poor installation of the new door. We would need to replace the upper tracks, bend back center style, replace opener reinforcing bracket, replace 16' strut (use heavy duty version) install upper A-frame roller carriers and rollers, adjust rear hanging hardware.Upper tracks radius 10 radius 7' door Metal bracket that attaches to top section of door.Strut for double wide door A-frame Fixture that holds roller on top section

I ordered a garage door opener on the **** ***** website using clopay on June 2, 2024. After about one month of waiting with no updates, I started calling regularly. I called throughout the month of July. When I called in early August, they told me that it had been shipped to the installer on July 17 (6 weeks after I ordered it). Apparently the installer then installed it in the wrong house. Somehow this error was never picked up. The only reason they figured it out (2 weeks after the fact), is that I called both parties and connected the dots. They then had to order a replacement opener, which is now taking weeks longer despite being a very standard model. It is August 22 and I still have not been able to schedule an install date.

      Date: 08/23/2024

We are sorry for the delay in your order.  We have confirmed that our installer has received your garage door opener and installer will be calling you today to schedule the installation.

Completely Junk company. The CEO should be fired. The customer service ****** We ordered 2 doors. We got the doors in 8 weeks. One of the panels had scratches and we had a cracked glass. *** the installation company, was dodging calls to come fix it. I had to call Clopay countless times to get an answer. We got the broken glass fixed after 2 months. They still will not address scratch on panels. The install company committed fraud by charging my card for complete payment without proper signatures. I would stay clear of this company to buy any products.
