This is the worst road crew I have ever encountered. But I guess you get what you pay for. These people don't properly close roads, they don't post signage when there's new traffic patterns or detours, they have traffic backed up for 25+ minutes but saying the road is "open." They are blocking off residential driveways and denying citizens driving access to their homes. People are late to their jobs and appointments because of their lack of communication. They shut down water on an entire main road and said nothing to anyone not even the city knew about it. They have a few guys working while the rest are hanging out like they're at a buddies house and they only work 4 days a week. The foreman would rather treat people like dirt than explain to them what their alternate routes are. STAY AWAY FROM FABRIZI TRUCKING! They will take the lowest bid because they know they aren't worth more! PS if you guys reply to this telling me to talk to my city and that the BBB isn't the place for this like you did to the other reviewer, you're just proving our points. We will be bringing up the extremely poor project management at the next city hall meeting!Fabrizi Trucking & Paving Co., Inc.

Ms. C*****, We apologize for the inconvenience that you are having during construction. Large projects like what is happening out in Geneva can be difficult, especially if it is occurring in front of their property. Please know that Fabrizi follows the specs and directions that are provided by the project owner in terms of traffic control and detours. At no point were you told you did not have access to your property. You treated our employees with little to no respect when you had to take a detour to access your home, yelling and swearing to the point that the police department had to be called to calm the situation. Our crew is currently working 4 - 10-hour shifts, so we are only there Monday - Thursday. This is done to allow for weather related makeup days and to minimize the overall length of the project. We work diligently with the city, engineer, and inspectors on the project to get things done in a timely manner. Fabrizi was determined to be the lowest and best bidder for the project. This is how all municipal government work is bid and awarded. We apologize for the inconvenience this project is causing you, but please know that in the long term it will be good for the city and the homeowners in the area.Review fromDamien S

Very poor methods and project management. Un-necessary delays to the people affected by the project on Webster and Albion rds. Hit the natural gas line in multiple locations including one requiring the evacuation of a number of homes after the main was hit. Ironic that the gas line was exactly where it had been marked. Multiple close calls with the backhoe and vehicles going through on their green light based on the portable traffic lights. Stopping traffic while on their green light long enough that the opposite direction was already coming forward on their respective green. Estimating timelines that were not al all reasonable. You don't tell people that you are going to pour concrete and have their driveways available by mid to late day the following day. Even fast set does not cure that fast. So planning to pour on a Thursday, with rain in the forecast, and have the road and driveways open by mid day Friday is not even feasible. Even with fast setting materials. Not to mention the lack of signage and direction, then having employees curse at drivers for driving down the wrong lanes. Lastly multiple instances of not complying with the initial scope of work. Dust control????? Rude in general. I actually stopped and yelled at a backhoe operator that was throwing his garbage out of the cab of the backhoe into the hole that he was back filling. Plastic bottles, aluminum foil, the works. Unfortunately, they will continue to get the city bids because they are cheep. You get what they pay for. I do construction project management for a living in the private sector for a large company. Would never hire them based on their performance. I'm sure they will respond with all kinds of excuses about markings not being deep enough, unforeseen circumstances, and the disruption that is unavoidable due to construction in tight spaces, weather, etc. However, they are all excuses. It truly does come down to planning and being conscientious of what is being done.Fabrizi Trucking & Paving Co., Inc.

Mr ****** I see no reason to argue with you as you have your mind made up about our company and our methods. I will respond to your Construction projects can be difficult for the residents as there are inconveniences involved with having the work done. Most residents are understanding as they see it's in their best interests long term. It's not possible to please everyone. Fabrizi follows all traffic control procedures based off of the plans that are provided to us by the city and its' engineer. This is something you should know from based off your background in the private construction industry. If you have an issue with this, it should be brought up to the city or your council representative, not on the BBB. As to the scope of work not being followed, again you should take this up with the city as there is an inspector on site from the city while we work. If there was an issue from their viewpoint, they would have us make corrections. In regards to the utility hits, we do our best to avoid striking underground gas lines. Sometimes incidents will occur even with the best of caution being employed. The elevation/ depth of the lines can vary making hand digging for them difficult. We hand dig within 18” to the left and right of markings to locate lines. We have gas company approved locating services remark lines as frequently as possible to maintain freshly marked locations. We additionally train our field trades in the proper locating and avoidance of utilities. We utilize utility locating tools to assist in finding either steel lines or the tracing wires for plastic lines. We do regret the inconvenience a utility strike causes, it is not our intent to do so. Safety is our priority. You are correct that in the public sector that the lowest and best bidder is awarded the project. That is how public bidding works. We have been in this industry for 70+ years and price ourselves on doing quality work. I believe if you reach out to your city representative they will echo the same comments as we've been working in Strongsville for many years. We appreciate your feedback nonetheless.Review fromA. J.

They flung gravel all over my car and caused thousands in damage, the safety guy was supposed to have the company pay to have it fixed and he put the sticks to me. It’s okay I have videos of your guys without proper PPE Neel, I got videos of your guys flipping people off because they were honking the horn, I even have videos of some of your non EPA complainant trucks rolling coal down the road. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone, I wouldn’t even recommend being in the vicinity of wherever they’re doing work.Fabrizi Trucking & Paving Co., Inc.

Mr. ******** initially spoke to our safety director about this claim. Once he submitted the bill for repairs, he was made aware that based upon the amount (over $11,000), the claim was sent to our insurance agent for review. They reviewed the pictures, estimate, as well as the statement he provided that a loader "traveling at mach 10" (a loader doesn't exceed 15 MPH at it's fastest) sprayed his car with stone, and they felt the damage wasn't possible based upon the statements. Per his report to the repair shop, he indicated many cars were sprayed with stone, yet we had no other claims of damage on that day. He did not stop on site when the alleged damage occurred, which would have been typical considering the amount of damage he claimed we caused. There also was not a police report filed which would have also been typical for a damage like this. We'd also like to stress this was rejected by our insurance agency and should be handled as an insurance matter. After seeing this complaint, we discussed with our insurance agent and he reached out to his insurance agent on 6/14/23 to discuss the matter. Our agent indicated that since it was initially declined, he should file a claim with State Farm (his car insurance company), allow them to handle the repairs, and they would work with our insurance company via a subrogation process to determine validity of the claim and the costs. This is not atypical of many insurance claims. As of today, over a month after the alleged damage, for some reason he has not done this. We'd be happy to provide the BBB the pictures of the claimed damage and his report to the company providing the estimate. As to his other claims regarding PPE, "flipping off drivers", and trucks hauling "coal" in non-EPA compliant trucks, this statement is not in any way related to his damage claim and is slanderous. Fabrizi has a long reputation as an upstanding company that does work correctly, treats residents fairly and follows OSHA standards. This can be seen from our A+ rating with he BBB. We'd are requesting this review be removed and that he make a claim with his insurance company so this can be amicably worked out between the two insurance companies. There is no reason this should be posted to the BBB.Review fromSandy E
