I filed bankruptcy because I was foolish enough to cosign for an apartment for people I thought were my friends. They stopped paying rent and I began getting phone calls from an attorney. I decided to file bankruptcy and hired Mr. ********* I explained my situation, told him they had a judgement and threatened to put a lean on my home. I was assured that when everything was discharged that I was free and clear from the debt. I sold my home and found out no one took care of the lean. I lost 4300.00 that I could not afford to lose. I'm complaining from a campsite where I now lay my head because I don't have any options. The lawyer told me they "technically " have no right to the money because it is listed on my bankruptcy but it's been taken anyway because my attorney never took care of the lean.

I was in the process of negotiating the lien away when Mr. ***** permitted the closing to occur prior to settlement with the lienholder. I had contacted and was working with attorney **** ***** of Tiffin, OH on compromising the lien when Mr. ***** allowed  the closing (in which I did not represent him) to occur. Thus the full lien amount was deducted from his net proceeds, unfortunately. The lien could have been avoided in bankruptcy by re-opening the case, which Mr. ***** was aware of.  Neither Mr. ***** nor I as bankruptcy counsel were aware of the lien at the time of his bankruptcy filing.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: Mr. ******* was well aware that the attorney had threatened to put a lean on my home. This is the reason I filed the bankruptcy. He neglected to do his job and have the lean removed at the time I filed bankruptcy well over a year ago. Because of his negligence I'm out the money he was paid and the amount of the Lien. I live on disability and could ill afford the financial hardship and strain this has put upon my family.

    Sincerely,

    ******* *****
