1 starIf I could give negative five stars, I would! This was, without a doubt, the worst customer service experience I have ever hadand Ive had some bad ******* first, everything seemed fine. This company was referred by my home warranty provider, and they responded quickly. The technician diagnosed the issue and said I needed two parts: a fan and a control board. A week later, he returned and installed the fan, but when I asked about the control board, he said it was still on order and that they would contact me once it arrived. Two weeks passed with no update, so I called to check the status. To my surprise, I was told that my job ticket had been closed. I explained that I was promised a control board and had never been contacted. The representative assured me she would look into it and get me back on the schedule. After two more days of silence, I called again. This time, I spoke with the original representative who had first reached out to me. After explaining the situation yet again, she placed me on hold to contact the technician. When she returned, she said the technician had no record of the control board and had confused my job with *************** that means. She then told me to call my warranty company and request a recall order, claiming that my AC wasnt working. I pointed out that this would be dishonest and could constitute insurance fraud. I made it clear that all I wanted was the part I had been promised. Her response? Theres nothing I can do.Frustrated, I asked how she would feel if she were in my position. Her reply? I dont know since Im not in your *********** advice? Stay far away from this company. If you check other reviews, youll see plenty of similar horror stories.Review fromAlberto M

1 starCompany needs to be shutdown. Absolutely joke. Reason why I am cancelling HomeServe because they recommended these fools for hot water tank replacement. By the way, waited for a week just to replace a hot water tank. Then when you call these fools, they never answer. Do not use Mcatee Plumbing for anything. If ********* recommends them, refuse to have them service anything.Review fromJames S

Hired to do a job at home that had three problems...1) slow drainage in kitchen sink 2) toilet slow drainage in master bathroom 3) water coming from baseboard in guest bathroom They came out June 28, 2024 and temporarily stopped problem 1. It was determined that parts were needed for problem 2 on June 28, 2024. McAtee came back out on July 8th to fix problem 2 only it turned out to be a temporary fix. On August 6, 2024 McAtee came back out to fix problem 2 and 3. Unfortunately from the inadequate work that was done on July 8, 2024, sewage spilled out in my crawl space and master bathroom toilet and shower drain... McAtee repaired problem 2 but Not problem 3 on this final day...the sewage that spilled out due to the inadequate work done on July 8, 2024 was left for me to hire and pay for from McAtee company because the supervisor ** says his workers stated that the sewage was previously there ...I took them to court in which I was awarded on January 9, 2025 $1,105.68 in which McAtee hasn't paid as of January 29, 2025McAtee Plumbing, Heating & Air

On 6/28/2024 McAtee LLC responded to ******************** via a work order through a third party warranty provider to address concerns of drainage issues. McAtee successfully cleared a blockage in the kitchen sink drain line, and attempted to cable from a pulled toilet as well as the shower drain to clear an additional blockage. The McAtee ********** then proceeded to enter the crawlspace as the attempots to clear the blockage were unsucessful. Once in the crawlspace the tec hnician found there was a crack in the sewer lateral within the crawlspace, allowing sewage to leak into the crawl. Due to the nature of the needed repair the ********** was forced to reschedule the repair so that a second ********** could be on site to assist. On July 8th, 2024 the original ********** as well as a second ********** arrived at the address, and provceeded to repair the drainage issue in the crawlspace using a pices of PVC pipe and no hub coupling per code. On August 6th, ****************************************************************************************** the bathroom. THis ********** being the senior ********** in that market. The ********** determined the bathroom wall needed to be cut open in order to address the leak, this being a seperate issue from the previous visit. The homeowner refused to sign the waiver required before any cutting of walls or repairs of this tytpe can proceed. THis waiver is required by McAtee as well as the third party warranty provider. DO to the customer refusing to sign and acknowledge the access waiver, and the policy of the theird party warranty provider requiring it we could not proceed with the repair. McAtee also had a seperate work order for a external sewer blockage. The ********** cabled and cleared the external sewer line by removing a no hub band to access the pipe. Once the sewer line was cleared, the no hub was reinstalled and tested with zero leaks. The ********** also verified that the crawlspace had zero need for remediation, nor was there any remediation equipment on site.James S

On June 8, 2024, the technician didn't see any sewage leak in the crawl space as indicated in McAtee response. The technician took pictures on that day of the crawl space in which I have that proves this point. On August, 6, 2024, the issue the technician was scheduled to fix was DIRECTLY related to the unsuccessful repair done on July 8, 2024. The sewage that backed up in the Master Bathroom shower and toilet was due to the INCORRECT INSTALLATION of the *** pipe and no hub coupling per the technician on site on August 6, 2024. The waiver that I was asked to sign on August 6, ************************************************************************ the Master Bathroom shower and toilet and the Guest Bathroom leakage. The technician on that day refused to work on the leakage in the Guest Bathroom which prompted me to NOT SIGN the work order. There was no waiver in question for fixing the Guest Bathroom leakage. Because of the IMPROPERLY work done, sewage spilled into the crawl space needing remediation after the work was done on August6, 2024. The work needed to remediate the crawl space started on August 6, 2024 by a remediation company. As of February 5, 2025, McAtee HASN'T paid a COURT AWARDED JUDGMENT of $1,105.68.Review fromKenya W

1 starI placed a service request through ********* to repair my HVAC. The heat was not working properly. (The heat will turn on for about an hour then the air will blow cool. Eventually hot air will blow again) They assigned me to McAtee. The representative contacted me and sent a repairman on Nov. 19, 2024. After a few minutes of looking, the repairman stated that the damper switch was not opening, it is not covered through Homeserve and the cost would be $500. I signed forms through an app on his phone and he assured me that I would be emailed a copy of the forms. They were NOT emailed at that time. At that visit, I thanked him for the estimate and I told him that I would be calling in the future to repair. On December 6, 2024, I called the main number ending with 3365 to get the written estimate from the company and possibly schedule an appointment. My call was returned by **** but showed up on my caller ID as *. ****** last 4 digits 9400. At this call, the repairman had my previous information and I was given another verbal quote of $600 for the same job and that it must be paid CASH on the spot. He knew the weather was getting down to 22 degrees that night, this was a family, and there was a great need. I stated that I needed a WRITTEN estimate. He finally provided the estimate on December 6, but there was no estimated COST just what he ASSUMED the issue may be. VERY UNPEOFESSIONAL, VERY DISHONESTSTAY AWAYReview fromMaurice T

1 starI am filing this complaint to address the poor service provided by the contractor ********* assigned to repair our broken hot water heater. Since September 25, 2024, my family has been without hot water, and the contractors delays and substandard work have left us in unsanitary conditions. The contractor was first scheduled to arrive on October 2, after several days of waiting due to employee illness. When they finally installed a new water heater, they left without ensuring it worked. That evening, I found it wasnt functioning at all. Despite calling ********* immediately, I was told we would have to wait until the next day for the contractor to return. When the contractor came back on October 3, they were unable to fix the issue, determining that the newly installed water heater required a control valve. The part would take several more days to arrive, leaving us without hot water for nearly 12 days in total. This faulty installation caused unnecessary delays and extended hardship for my family, including unsanitary living conditions for our children and pet.Once the valve came, it was installed on the new water heater however the tech determine the unit itself was faulty. They failed us for they shouldve replaced the entire unit as as requested and used the part if needed on the broken unit later. They did not provide professional service nor did they empathize with us. Home ***** finally granted my request,to replace the company. Tomorrow will be 15 days without hot water. It due to the storm but due to McAtees incompetence.I dont know about other areas but definitely stay away from them in **.Review fromConstance M

IF I COULD GIVE NO STARS I WOULD. THEY WERE SELECTED THROUGH MY HOME WARRANTY TO FIX MY AC. THE TECHNICIANS CAME OUT AND STATED IT WAS AN OLD UNIT AND THEY WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO GET THE PART SO I WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE COMPLETE UNIT. WELL MY WARRANTY COMPANY WAS ABLE TO ORDER THE PART. THE 1ST ESSTIMATE GIVEN WAS $910 OUT OF POCKET, THEN $760. THEY TOOK MY FEE TO COME OUT BY CREDIT CARD BUT SAID I HAD TO PAY THE REST IN CASH. BECAUSE OF A MIXUP WITH THE PART AND TAKING SO LONG FOR MY WARRANTY COMPANY TO GET THE PART, THEY CANCELLED EVERYTHING. FOLLOWING WEEK GOT THE PART AND WANTED ME TO PAY AGAIN FOR THEM TO COME OUT. I REFUSED AND ISSISTED ON A DIFFERENT COMPANY. THE DIFFERENT COMPANY CAME OUT, ORDERED THE PART CAME BACK AND INSTALLED WITH $0 OUT OF POCKET COST. I GUESS THAT'S WHY THEY INSISTED ON PAYING IN CASH. THEY WERE JUST GOING TO POCKET THAT MONEY.McAtee Plumbing, Heating & Air

The customer fileda work order through a third party warranty provider. McAtee submits its diagnosis and estimate to the provider and the provider dictates any out of pocket expense to the property owner. McAtee also has zero control over and service call fees as they are also dictated by the third party provider. McAtee submitted a diagnosis to the warranty provider, that in our professional opinion is the best course of action considering the age and condition of the unit, federal regulations controlling types of refrigerant that can be used, and the chances of another failure within a short time frame. It was our professional opinion the unit needed replaced taking these factors into account.Review fromSharon L H
