      In March 2023, I went to Bettina to file 2 years of taxes and also submit multiple local return corrections from a prior CPA's errors. Most of these things were done, except I was missing 1 local correction, and several months later I learned she misfiled my HSA contribution amount. I've been asking for several months now for the federal HSA amount to be corrected and no action has been taken. On October 31, I finally got her to respond and I resent my W2 that she needed for the adjustment & I have not heard from her since then. I sent follow up emails on 12/1 & 12/8, neither of which were acknowledged. This is not unusual as most communications are completely ignored and I typically receive absolutely no response from her. I'm receiving threatening letters from the IRS that they're going to place a lien on my house due to this error causing me to owe money that I should not owe.

      After Tax Season, I am not on my emails or phone much. On top of that I had a numerous amount of family health things to handle. The first time I was contacted I did respond and the forms I needed were not given to me originally. Mind you this was about 8 years worth of city tax returns she needed done plus her husbands. The HSA was entered exactly how my program has me enter it.

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

      Bettina's rebuttal is not only incorrect but it does not even begin to resolve the issue of her not fixing her MANY mistakes. I requested & brought paperwork for 4 local corrections that were misfiled by another CPA, 1 prior year local-only filing, & 2 years of simple joint filings for myself & my husband. I found Bettina by posted on social media requesting a CPA that was experienced in multi-year corrections and Bettina reached out to me to recommend herself- if this was something she couldn't handle then she shouldn't have signed up for it. I do not care if what was entered is what the system advised, it is incorrect and needs to be corrected as I am receiving threatening letters about a lien being placed on my home from the IRS due to this error. I have reached out multiple times without any sort of response. Simply claiming "I don't pay attention to clients in the slow season" shows nothing more than a horrible business owner being bad at owning a business.

      There definitely were not MANY mistakes. And it is VERY common for a tax business to not have notifications on during off season. There’s no taxes done during May through December unless extensions. 

      the HSA was entered the way that the IRS requires. In order to suffice her request most likely would bring an audit. But I will send off the amendment. 

      the one city that hadn’t been done, I was NEVER sent the documents to complete.
