Have a car loan thru abbey credit. I hadn’t shown proof of insurance they added their insurance and my payment went up to $200. They said it was my responsibility to have it paid. it’s automatically taken out so I made sure the money was in there. 8/1 they only took out $115 then reported I was late as of 8/31 30days. I called them they said I had to come in sign for them to take out the $200 cuz it was a change amount. They kept telling me it was my responsibility to have the money to pay it which I did but not that I had to come in to sign something for them to do it. Since I hadn’t sign (not knowing I had to until 9-17-24) they flagged my account on credit report being 30 date as of 8/31 I tried to dispute it but I could only write 210 words so they didn’t get all the info I would like them to correct the credit report technically I wasn’t late on the payment I had the amount I needed but they didn’t take it out. That was on abbey credit for giving the info about signing new document

This was the fourth time we added Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI) because she does not maintain insurance. She has had $1,295 in late fees. The CPI was effective on 6/28/24; she had not made her June payment. We began contacting her on 7/2/24 and made contact on 7/16.  She made two payments (7/18/24 & 7/24/24) to get caught up to be due for August 1st. So, in short, the CPI or wrong auto pay amount didn't have to do with her being late. The auto payment on 7/1/24 only transferred $3.90 because that is all that was available. The CPI letter does state that it is the member's responsibility to change the automatic payment, not just to have enough funds in the account.

Abbey Credit Union uses Transunion to obtain credit reports.  Once Abbey pulls a credit report, Transunion shows that we pulled a credit report.  Abbey has no control over how long Transunion shows to subsequent credit inquirers that Abbey pulled a credit report.  This is an item that the consumer will need to take up with Transunion credit reporting agency.
