On August 9th, 2021. My wife and I were traveling down SR 159 at Delano Road when we observed a zero turn mower mowing towards the road. When we were beside the mower our car was struck by an unknown object. We immediately turned around and stopped at the mower. I observed a large dent and scratches going down the side of the car on the passenger side. I stopped and talked to the male that was operating the mower. He advised me that it was the second time he hit someone’s car by mowing into the road. He provided me a business card and advised his owner would take care of the damage. I contacted their HR Department and she advised me to get a quote. I obtained a quote and sent it to them. I was told by the HR that the owner would be in contact because he was only going to pay for part of the damages and no rental car. I then asked for their insurance information and refused to provide it to me. The owner has since refused to contact me back.

Coleman Lawn and Landscaping is fully aware of the accident that occurred on August 9th, 2021 with Mr. ********. At the time of the accident, we were contacted by the Mr. ********. We agreed that he would send pictures of the damage and supply us with a quote to have his damages fixed. Mr. ******** did provided us with a quote that clearly included more damages than what occurred during this accident. He also requested that we pay for a rental car, in which we did deny.  Our insurance information was not given to Mr. ******** due to an agreement that it would be payed for by the company. We are still willing to pay for the damages that was caused by our employee. Mr. ******** is seeking more.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********* and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below.

I did not supply more photos in attempts to gain more money. His employee who hit my vehicle took the same exact photos. I care for my vehicles very well. This is a 2018 with 60k miles, the vehicle has never been involved in an accident until the day his employee hit my vehicle.  I am a law enforcement officer and have no reason to attempt to do something like that. I make good money and easily have the funds to fix it. If this vehicle was damaged prior it would’ve been fixed. If I would have known they were going to back out on fixing the damages I would’ve filed a police report  He is correct  I requested a rental car because that is what his insurance company would’ve had to supply to me. I have three children and this is my wife’s everyday vehicle. Two of our kids are in school and must be picked up and dropped off. The business should’ve filed a claim with their insurance and had them pay to fix it. But I’m guessing he doesn’t want to pay his deductible and have his rate go up. I even went to a highly suggested shop that I know well and explained to them the situation. The shop cut me a better deal than what they normally would because it was being paid out of pocket. I don’t appreciate Coleman’s attempts to put me out as a person seeking money. It’s simple his employee damaged my vehicle and I should’ve contacted local law enforcement to gather his insurance information. He’s trying to spend the least he can to fix the problem and that’s not good enough. I’d like his insurance information or for him to fix all damages in full.

      Regards,

      **** ********

Attached above is the quote from ****** ********. **** is a very professional business owner and would not tack on additional things. **** actually gave me a better quote due to the circumstances of what happened.
