I purchased 3 garage doors from *** ***** doors in 2018. They are series 600 HAAS steel insulated doors with a limited lifetime warranty. I contacted the company in 2020 to state the paint/ finish was deteriorating and peeling from numerous spots on multiple doors and panels. Now the finish is almost completely gone in spots. HAAS per *** ***** has denied the claim.Business response

The warranty is defined as limited liability and void with corrosive environments (saltwater regions). We stand behind our dealers assessment and the claim is denied. No further discussion needed.

I am filing a complaint against *********************, a national manufacturer of garage doors. In 2016, I built a new home and upgraded to insulated garage doors from ****, which came with a 10-year express warranty and a lifetime limited warranty on the finish.Recently, I noticed that the finish on the garage doors was wiping away with nothing more than soap and water, down to the bare metal. A representative from the distributor inspected the doors and confirmed the issue.The distributor contacted ********************* on my behalf to file a warranty claim, but the claim was denied without any explanation. When I inquired further, I was informed that no reason had been provided by ****, and no further information was sought or offered. Instead, I was given the option to replace the doors at my own expense, which would cost several thousand dollars. I am disappointed by ****** lack of engagement in resolving this issue, especially considering that I am still within the valid warranty period.Given that the 10-year express warranty is still in effect, I believe this denial violates consumer protection laws that require manufacturers to honor legitimate warranty claims. I have engaged legal counsel to explore my options but am filing this complaint to formally address ****** refusal to honor their warranty obligations.
