On Dec 19 2023 I paid for an inspection of my vehicle because of a ticking/ slapping noise. I was advised that I was in need of a timing chain replacement. On Dec 21 2023 I dropped my vehicle off for the work to be done on it. Was told it would be ready by Dec 30 2023. It was not ready to be picked up until Jan 2 ****. I picked up my vehicle, and paid my bill. Within 24 hours I had to have my vehicle towed back to the dealership, because it broke down on the highway. After 5 days had gone by with no updates from the dealership, I had to call them to find out the status of my vehicle. At that point they informed me I needed a whole new engine. When i gave them my vehicle it was running fine other than the noise I was hearing. So at this point I had to think about buying another vehicle. When I asked about a trade in value all they offered was $2000. The blue book value of my vehicle was approximately $8000 to $9000, not to mention that i had already paid $196.16 for the inspection and $3627.09 for the timing chain. I now do not have a working vehicle, I'm out $3823.25 and all they can offer up is $2000. I feel that the compensation they offered is not condusive to the fact that i gave them a running vehicle and got back a vehicle that is in need of a new engine at a cost of $13,000. I also feel this was their mistake since the inspection was done at their facility.Initial Complaint

4/22/2023 I had planned on trading in my vehicle at another dealership. I was told by ******************* at the dealership to just bring it back to Nissan and ground my lease there. No fees or anything. They would actually give me a $500 check to cover any possible fees. I talked with ****** there multiple times. On 4/15/2023 I texted ****** to make sure if I brought it in next Saturday 4/22 I would still get that deal with no fees. She replied yes absolutely. I got there that day to be told I was going to owe and they couldnt do that deal anymore. I fought with them to honor the texts and info in writing I was told. He finally reluctantly agreed. I got paperwork saying I turned in the vehicle. I left. Posted a ****** review about my entire experience. Within 20 minutes ******************* called me leaving a voicemail threatening me to remove the review or he wouldnt pay off my car. I also received a text from him saying this also. I sent two emails to the general manager about this threat from him employee. I am filing a complain and documenting everything because they are threatening to not pay off the vehicle even though they took the vehicle and I was under the impression they were fully paying it off.Business Response

We would like to apologize for any miscommunication with our staff. Boardman Nissan is not the lien holder or lease holder of the title. **** or Nissan **************************** is the lease holder on this transaction. If a leased vehicle is turned back into **** they have third party inspectors, those inspectors provide information to the clients and to **** when a vehicle has excess wear and tear and/or damage on a vehicle. Until we inspect a vehicle, we can not get an idea of the charges that **** may charge a client. Boardman Nissan can purchase the vehicle from **** and the client, so that no charges are forwarded to the previous client. This vehicle has been paid off with ****. If the client would like any additional information, please have them contact us directly. Our executive assistant name is ***************** and her email address is *********************************** she is the best point of contact. Again, we are sorry for the miscommunication.Initial Complaint

Boardman Nissan replace my 20 Murano driver side window on 12/17/2022. I went to pick my car up as I was starting leave I notice my window visor was scuff up. I went back in to ask the service writer what happen to my visor. Service writer seen the scuff marks and some kind of powder on the visor he told me to call Monday the 19th and talk to the Service manager. I called, talk to the service manager he said to his tech and he did not scuff up my visor. I explain the visor was not damage when I brought the car in. I told the service to look at your service writer phone who took a picture of the window before being replace and you can see that the visor was not damage. The service manager said his tech did not do it he don"t know what happen and people are always trying to get something for nothing. I told there"s also white substance on the top of the window. The service manager kept saying they did not damage my visor removing the window. Later on when I got off from work I called to talk with the Nissan manager to complain about my damage visor. The call went to his voice mail I left my name and number. I have not receive a phone call as of 12/21/22.Business Response

Mr. ***** did show up one evening and viewed one of our vehicles. We gave him pricing on our vehicle, and a trade in value on his. When discussing the numbers with Mr. ****** we told him those numbers are pricing for a deal now. We communicated if he came back because of the fact that his vehicle had been in a serious accident one of our technicians would be looking over the vehicle and the trade number could change. Mr. ***** declined taking advantage of the numbers given to him that night. We have no signed agreement to hold numbers or the vehicle. Mr. ***** wanted to continue to shop, which is his or any clients right to do. ************** came back we had a technician evaluate his vehicle, and it came back with issues. Trade value changed based on the repairs that our technician said need to be completed. Boardman Nissan handled itself in a professional manner and communicated the options to ************************** declined to take advantage of the offer. We wish Mr. ***** good luck finding his next vehicle.

My issue comes from a defect I discovered a week after I got the vehicle (2020 Murano certified used). The bumper cover where it meets the tailgate is beginning to separate. As soon as i noticed, I called the dealerships service center. I brought it in to be looked at, along with an issue with my window that they agreed to fix under warranty. After inspecting my bumper I was told the best they could do after consulting with the sales manager, *******************, was pay for half. I was not happy about this, but given the situation I only have so much recourse. To be clear, there isnt a single **** or any other indication it was hit by anything. I was told the only way the separation could occur was by an impact. Thats not true after speaking with other body shops.I received a survey via email and voiced my displeasure about the bumper. The sales manager, *******************, then calls me and basically is yelling at me over my review. His bosses are upset, I went back on my word, and maybe I damaged it myself and removed the ****s. I never went back on my word and was displeased from the start when I spoke with the service manager, but I only have so much recourse. Ive never been insulted like this by a salesman before and have never had a worse experience in my life with a dealers sales manager. This is a certified used vehicle that I only had for a week. I didnt realize customers had to go through the vehicles with a fine tooth comb before purchasing them to ensure there were no defects.Business Response
