To better explain my complaint, I am attaching I wrote to the company/complex to address the issue. Please read the letter below. On September 27, 2024, we filled out an application for a 3-bedroom apartment at The Point at North Penn Apartments in Edmond, OK. We agreed to lease a 3-bedroom unit with hardwood flooring throughout the apartment. In addition to the understanding that this 3-bedroom apartment would have hardwood following, we were told that November rent would be free. We paid a $100.00 app fee, a $500.00 deposit and $786.84 in prorated rent for October. On October 18, 2024, we picked up the keys. Upon entering the apartment, we noticed that there was carpeting throughout. This is a problem because my son has severe allergies. The next morning (October 19, 2024), I contacted manager ***** to discuss the matter. After talking for a few more minutes, she finally agreed that she would move our deposit over to another apartment unit, but we would need to wait to move in around the 7th of November. She agreed to move the lease from apartment *** to ***. We returned the keys for *** on this same day. She gladly accepted the keys and ended the meeting. On November 6, 2024, I received a voicemail. Upon speaking with a lady named *********, she informed us that they were actually calling because she is showing a record that we owe $1,510.50 for rent and if we did not pay by the end of business day on November 8, 2024 then they would take action against us, including the addition of a late rent payment of $124.00. She explained that the rent is owed for apartment ***. I explained to her about the verbal agreement with ***** to move us to unit ***. I explained that I have a recorded conversation of the verbal agreement. She informed me that we still owe $1,510.50 for unit *** for rent and that the previous contract is still in effect. She stated the the new management would not honor this agreement.
