Business/company: Oklahoma Matchmakers Transaction date: 2/27/23 First date/introduction: 3/22/23 Amount paid: $7,094.95 Business committed to providing 8 introductions, 1 coaching session, and 6 months of hold timeNature of dispute: First introduction was COMPLETELY opposite of what I had detailed that I was looking for in a partner, when I complained I was told that they dont always get it right on the first try. I feel that a $1000+ date should be at least close to what Im looking for. Was told they had multiple people in mind for me during the consultation but it took a month to get the first call. Feel deceived about the availability of participants in the program. Ultimately I only completed 1 introduction of 8. During the initial consultation, they ask a series of questions about yourself and the type of person youre looking for. Unbeknownst to me, at the end of that session, they put the pricing sheet in front of you as if to say we just spent an hour taking information from you so now you have to commit to the program - felt like an uncomfortable high pressure sales situation.Business has not tried to resolve, they keep referring to no refund clause in their contract Extenuating circumstances: waiting until my 6-month hold time was completed, which started around April 2023 therefore would have ended in October 2023. Hopeful that the company would try to make it right since I didnt get what I paid for once my contract ended but I have heard nothing from them.Business Response

We acknowledge and regret the concerns raised in ********************** complaint. According to the terms outlined in our new client paperwork, she entered into a feedback-based membership with our service. Her initial introduction took place on March 10, 2023, featuring a match that aligned with her specified preferences, including being a professional, white-collar, ********** highly educated, and residing in the same city.
After the initial introduction, on March 22, ****************** provided feedback expressing a preference for a more active partner and someone with "less baggage." Despite multiple attempts to engage her in her coaching program, we did not receive responses on March 6, March 9, March 13, March 27, and April 10.
On May 4, when presenting a potential new match, ****************** declined to utilize our services, citing her involvement with someone outside the country. In response to her concerns, we reached out to her on March 8, 2024 to address the issues and extend an offer to reinstate her membership. Regrettably, ****************** declined this offer.
As per our membership terms, cancellations or refunds are not applicable in this case. Despite this, we remain committed to assisting ****************** in achieving her dating and relationship goals. We encourage her to reach out to us so that we can explore further opportunities to provide the support she needs.Customer Answer

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because:the first introduction was on/around 3/21 as shown in the attached messages, not 3/10. It was roughly a month after joining. This gentleman was nothing that I said I wanted - he was STILL MARRIED, going through a divorce, had children, was not fit/active as I am, and I heard nothing about ********* values on the date. And I indicated my disappointment about this on the feedback I sent to the company. Based on this experience why would I proceed to continue when Im clearly wasting time and money as your pool of potential matches is lacking. The contract was not fully executed therefore the right thing to do would be to return my money. I cannot in good faith recommend this program to my friends and family who were hopeful that it would work.
Sincerely,
***************************Business Response

The first match was presented to ****************** on 3/10/23, 11 days after she joined. She accepted the match that day. She did not respond to our messages to schedule her first coaching session in March of 2023. ****************** refused our attempts to provide her service in April of 2023. Her membership was placed on hold at that time as she elected not to be matched. Her membership included 6 months of hold time that expired in October of 2023 at which time her membership expired.Initial Complaint

I met with a matchmaker and reluctantly signed up, I gave the $2000. I contacted the sales person that day and requested to cancel. She said this wasnt allowed and that I had to give them money. I told them I needed to cancel and asked her to work with me. She said no, I had to pay the money and they had payment plans. I was very upset. That was the last time I heard anything about money They contacted me with a match I use that term loosely. He wasnt very nice. Nothing in common which was the opposite of what I expected based on the high pressure sales pitch. A week or so I received notice I had a coaching session. Before the coaching session could begin the coach notified me I was in collections. I was mortified. I hadnt heard from anyone regarding the payment plan I was promised. No letter, no email, nothing. And they sent me to collections?? I pay my bills, i havent missed a single payment on anything in well over 10 years. And without even a notice, they do this?? They are malicious, and incompetent. I consider myself a smart person, but they exploited my desire to find someone. They shouldnt be allowed to force people to continue when they want out. Even if I buy a house or a car I have 3 days to change my mind.Business Response

******************** joined our service on Saturday 10/29. She made a down payment on her membership fee and told us that she did not have her credit card with her that she wanted to use to pay the balance, but would call us on Monday to pay the balance. She did not make her payment. On 11/4 we sent ******************** a letter explaining that her membership fee was non-cancelable and offering to work with her on payment arrangements. She did not make her payment or make payment arrangements and her account was eventually turned over to a collection agency for non-payment. ******************** is clearly aware that she entered into a contract and had a past due balance. She did not follow through with the promises she made for payment. We provided services to ******************** and did so up until her account was turned over to the collection agency.
******************** is incorrect in her statement that she has 3 days to change her mind if she buys a house or a car. There is no 3 day right to cancel a contract for a house or a car in Oklahoma. Unfortunately, this is a common fallacy that some people believe to be true. The Oklahoma ************************ clearly addresses this issue and states "THERE IS NO THREE-DAY RIGHT TO CANCEL. When you sign a contract at the dealership, it is a valid contract, and usually only subject to financing approval."
******************** will need to reach out to the collection agency to resolve her delinquent balance. Once paid she may notify us and we will gladly resume service of her membership.
