Friday, November 24, 2023. I went to Galleria Furniture store to purchase some furniture. Subsequent to finding a 3-piece set (Sofa, ******************** of which I paid $1900. I opted against the delivery. I am a retired senior citizen & had my nephew accompany me back to the store for pick up. The furniture was waiting at the pickup bay & had plastic protective wrapping. The staff loaded it in my nephews flatbed truck. We went directly home, unloaded, & moved the furniture in my living room. Upon removing the plastic protection wrap we instantly noticed the front wood railing on the love seat was broken. I immediately called the store asking for the Manager. I wasnt given a name. The male on the phone said he was the Manager. I told him we had just removed the plastic from the love seat & discovered the broken railing. He adamantly & rudely accused me of breaking it myself He said we inspect every piece of furniture before wrapping it. He discounted anything I said & said it was nothing he could do. Highly offended at the way I was spoken to & frustrated I ended the call. After getting off the phone we unwrapped the sofa & only found 5 legs. The recliner is supposed to have 6 legs. I called Galleria right back & asked for the Manager. I could tell by his voice I was speaking to the very same man I had previously spoke with. I told him the recliner only had 5 legs. He responds by saying it is the customers responsibility to examine whatever they are buying. I reminded him of his aforementioned statement by saying Galleria inspects EVERYTHING prior to wrapping in plastic. Again, this so-called Manager said this was totally my fault and responsibility. He offered absolutely no resolve. Currently, I am using a brick to act as a leg for the Sofa. The broken/cracked wood frame is on the front of the loveseat and cant be hidden. Im afraid too much weight would cause it to crack completely. THIS IS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EXPERIENCED AND I NEED HELP.
