I have been with MCA for several years. They have been taking out ***** every month from my checking account. I was advised that my account was cancelled, but I have been paying each and every month. MCA has been shut down and the company is still taking money from my account. The website is still running like the company is still doing business as usual. When you call for roadside assistance, billing, or any other questions they specifically say all the plans have been canceled. So, why am I still being charged.Initial Complaint

Since 2017, I have been a member of the MCA; I liked it so well that I purchased a second membership so that my son would always be covered when operating our second vehicle. Services were provided as contracted. On October 14, 2022, I experienced a disablement of my vehicle (ID avail on request), and upon reaching a dispatcher, was informed that my membership was showing as inactive although my son's membership (ID avail on request) was showing as active. This, despite payments being deducted from my checking account twice monthly (one is paid between the 3rd and the 6th; the other is paid on or about the 17th.) After five hours & finally! help from a live person, I was finally able to get service and she told me the problem had been rectified. February 8, 2023 - I inadvertently locked ALL of my keys in my vehicle in my driveway. Again, despite maintaining the accounts and monthly payments on both accounts, I was informed that the account associated with my membership card cancelled; other account still active. I protested, and was able to get them to transfer the service call to the other account, and so could receive the service.HOWEVER, this appears to be an ongoing problem, and there is NO NUMBER available, nor email address, nor mailing address, nor any sort of functional direct contact, that I can use to get this resolved once and for all. Calls to ************ or even the corporate number ************ are all routed to the same automated system, and selection of relevant option ("all other calls press 4") results in a message saying no one is available, please leave email address, etc., and they will return call - which never happens. The problem seems to stem from a corporate split-up that occurred in the fall of 2021, which isn't my problem, but I want 1) MY ACCOUNTS PERMANENTLY CORRECTED TO 'ACTIVE' UNLESS I CHANGE THEM.2) FIX THE GLITCH IN THEIR SYSTEM WHICH CAUSED THIS 3) A PERSONAL CALL FROM A REP 4) LETTER FROM CORP. Ive been with Mca for few years off and on they always cancel me for no reason Im on time with payments and use there service very rarely they also charge me and bill me within thirty days if the service and then cancel me without notification or email nothing I got denied the service today they said I had to pay 100 % out of pocket but I paid the month of April 2023 which was due March 29 2023 therefore my tow or services should of been free as long as my tow is under 100 miles which it was today 50 miles but they didnt give me the tow I got stuck today april 6 2023 called at 7 pm they said Im canceled they said they cant say and why and who cancel my membership the money was deducted from my bank account they always take the money and then cancel you also they did it to my roommate he made his payments to !also on the contract they email u when u subscribe it says they jus write to you or email u when they cancel you !they never let you know its all a surprise and you still get billed and pay the monthly paymentInitial Complaint

MCA has been taking out ***** for their plan for a few years now. I've only used the services a couple of times which they actual came through on. Recently, I heard that they are no longer with TVC and I think their plan features have changed and was not told about them. I am very dissatisfied that trying to reach them through a phone call is impossible and you do not have a chat option to talk to someone. They have a horrible customer service model and this will not last as people are sick of it. The reps if you do call one, sound "ghetto", and not professional. They do not update you on changes, you can't reach them, but they never forget to take your money, that's something they are great at.. I want reimbursement for all the months I was paying for something that I did not agree to...the TVC separation. MCA needs to do better with customer service.. It's an embarrassment if you ask me. Very shady organization with management and corp hidden from customers.Business Response

I signed up for mca in June of 2022. Decided I no longer needed it and tried to cancel it. Havent gotten an answer, call back or email back since I signed up for mca. Currently still getting charged for something I dont use or want. Its really starting to bother me that they answered on the initial sign up and havent answered since. Almost like they just take your money and say **** you. When you see this, please get in touch with me so I can cancel this service.Business Response

10/27/2020 - 9/27/2022 I've been billed for a canceled service I have not had access to. I called to get help for a tow close to two years ago thinking MCA was still active and I was told it was canceled. I accepted this and didn't notice I was being billed till several months ago when I saw I was still being billed by MCA even though my account was canceled. Unable to get ahold of litetally anyone in billing ever I tried logging in online to my old account. It let me log in but didn't show an active account for be to cancel billing on. So later just to confirm I attempted to see if ****** was actually active despite having a closed account when my vehicle broke down in desperation to see if I could get answers this way. I was informed that no on the providers end showed an active account, that it was in fact was inactive. My debit card litetally had to inactivated to stop billing since MCA was unresponsive. I have left messages over and over, sent emails and called billing many times since I've seen that they continued to bill me and they've never answered, returned any calls or emails. I'm to the end of my rope. That's why I'm here and I hope I'll finally have this resolved. I've not had the service for the entire two year period. Maybe more but that's as far back as I confirmed with my bank. I was told it was canceled and both attempts to see if it was active over these two years proved it was not active at all and unuseable. I was still able to log into MCA at that point though. I haven't tried recently. If the service cannot be provided on what should have been a canceled account anyways that MCA continued to bill me then the entire 23 month period. I need to be fully refunded for these 23 months. I would super appreciate it if MCA could refund me for the 23 months x ***** = $459.77 We'll have to refund it to a different card though as that one had to be canceled. I am rejecting this response because:I've been billed on an unuseable account for more than 1 year. MCA was informed of this and had refunded only 2022. 10x payments of $19.95.
This account was unusable for longer than that. I would like be refunded all the way back until the last time the service billing was renewed last unbeknownst to me as it was not conveyed to the service providers that the service was renewed to begin and I am not sure your system tracks calls that aren't assigned if your last recorded call was in 2019. I've called multiple other times especially since finding out I've been charged for a service I litetally couldn't use that i was billed for. I didn't even know i was being charged all this time till i looked at my bank statement. I don't know what caused my account to continue billing and yet MCA not even having their providers informed of the account being active either but that warrants a complete refund all the way back to whenever the last billing renewal was.
I was told long ago my account was canceled yet here i am getting billed for a service i haven't had.
MCA look up the very last time you updated billing info and refund me from that point to the end of 2021 and I'll be happy. Initially I was just asking for what I could see charged on my chase bank but this had been a hassle and all of what was charged on an account that was never available for me to use should be refunded.
MCA can you look up when the last time my account was recorded as canceled and then allegidly was renewed(yet completely unusable due to a failure on MCA's part to even report this to their providers) because when I'm told my account is canceled, yet I continue to be billed yet the providers don't have record of me being active that constitutes a full refund for that entire period. Not just 2022. I listed 23 payments that I could see on my account. It only let me look back so far.

On Tuesday October 25th, 2022, I called Motor Club of America (MCA) at 2:22pm EST to cancel my $19.95 membership which no one answered and I left a voicemail. I received a call back from a customer service representative on the same day Tuesday October 25th, 2022 at 3:15pm EST in the phone number of: ************** to discuss the voicemail I left regarding the cancellation of my membership. The customer service representative indicated that they will go ahead and process the cancellation of my membership in the amount of $19.95; and that I will not be billed for the month of October. I also asked for a confirmation email to ensure that this cancellation of my membership officially took place. Today, Sunday October 30th, 2022, I checked my credit card account and it showed the $19.95 membership fee as processing; which to me indicates MCA did not officially cancel my membership; nor have I till this day received an official email indicating my MCA membership has been officially cancelled.The resolution I am seeking is: for my $19.95 membership fee to be officially cancelled effective immediately/today Sunday October 30th, 2022; and a refund in the amount of $19.95 credited to my credit card account that MCA has on file effective immediately/today Sunday October 30th, 2022.Business Response

On August 27th we signed up for a plan with this company. Only received a confirmation and that’s it. We have tried on over 30 different occasions to contact them by phone and email and just get hung up on. When we needed a tow we tried for 4 hours to get help and just gave up and paid the towing company. I have a tow receipt I wa s ever reimbursed for and I’ve tried on numerous occasions to send emails to cancel this horrendous plan and no one ever responds. I’d be better off talking to a wall. I want reimbursement for my tow ($250) which they owe me and I want to cancel this god forsaken plan. This is the worst company I’ve ever had to deal with.Business Response
