I currently have a leased vehicle from this dealership. I get constantly contacted to trade my lease in for "Top Dollar" since they want used cars on the lot. I have a 1.5 door Ranger and need a larger vehicle, so I decided to take them up on the offer. I did my research and **** does not have a current lease deal in my budget. When I went to Damerow they wouldnt give me an offer unless I test drove a new vehicle. I told them they have nothing I can afford. Why waste the time. They insisted. 3 hrs later I was given offers of $750, then $600 and then $475 a month. At this point, they got upset that I wouldn't sign a new lease. I was very polite and let them know I cant afford that. I thanked them for trying and let them know that even though I'd love an Explorer, there are other SUV's at a better lease price. They literally told me how good they were being to me by getting close to MSRP. Then they hit me out of left field. Now they started telling me that I have no choice and I can't take my lease anywhere. This is not my first lease - so I thought they were just using scare tactics. Then they magically adjusted my payoff on the current loan up 6k. At that point, I reminded them that all I wanted was to sell my car. What "Top Dollar" value will you pay for the truck. They were no longer interested in my vehicle. I went to another dealership the next day to find out that ***** due to the pandemic inventory issues, has somehow superceded my lease and made it that I can only sell my vehicle to the dealer of origin! Damerow can now refuse to let me sell my car to whomever. Or can add whatever amount they want to my payoff. Thats exactly what they did. They told the dealer I was at, that they just increased my payoff 10k if they want to buy my vehicle. That gives them my equity and puts me upside down. So because **** somehow can do this - and because my dealer is greedy - I have lost 2 of my 3 options in my lease contract. HOW IS THIS LEGAL!?

      Good morning,

We typically request that a guest selects and drives a vehicle before we present an offer, we want to make sure that the vehicle drives and is equipped as desired. Mistakes can be made by either party if we are just looking at paperwork, not an actual vehicle. We made a very aggressive offer, but as you mentioned we do not have a lease for your budget if it is the same as when you acquired the Ranger. It looks like you were looking at an Explorer, which is a much more expensive model over the Ranger, which also drives the payment up. Our understanding of what prompted your visit was your desire to trade in for a 3rd row SUV, not to simply sell your Ranger. Your lease is through *************** not the dealership. You are free to sell your Ranger to anyone, but according to the terms of the lease, the lease must be paid off at Damerow **** first. **** has not superseded your lease. We do not **** this amount up by a single dollar...you may be confused about the dealer purchase option price option, which we are not interested in. Other dealers would also have to pay this higher price, per the contract with Ally. This would result in the dealership paying Ally $37200, which we will not do. You have the option of paying the remainder of your payments and dropping the Ranger off, or you may also purchase the Ranger from Ally, through the dealership, at $29631.65 which is valid until 11/14/22. It sounds like you did not understand these options when you were here, so I apologize on behalf of the staff for that. You have not lost any of your options. We are not a greedy dealer that has taken your equity or raised your payoff whatsoever. Simply bring us a check and we can pay off your lease without a ****up. I wish we were able to communicate this with you clearly when you were here.

      Sincerely,

      *******************************

      Complaint: 18238115

I am rejecting this response because:

First off, I told your staff up front that I do not want to buy a car. They would not give me a quote on my vehicle for trade in unless I purchased or attempted to purchase another vehicle. After trying for ********************************* quote - I agreed to just play their game. As far as the dealer purchase option, I went to what is apparently your ****** ******* location. They are the ones that informed me that **** is requiring the vehicle to go to a **** store. Interestingly enough - they provided me a payoff 3k higher than your delaership. So you see why I do not trust any of your figures. You folks are trying to make money off of my lease above and beyond what you can make by selling it.

I have reviewed my lease papers which I have on file. There is no proviosion that blocks me from selling my car to any party or dealer. This is something that **** has come up with and you are enforcing at choice with the lease company. Hence, when you thoought id sign a deal there was no mention of this fee. When I didnt sign, it went up to 36k. Then out of spite your delaership quoted an addition 3k for 39k payoff the next day to *******. I would like you to highlight and attach where my lease states a penalty for a dealer trade in. As far as I can see you are creating these figures. Ive spoken to several other **** dealers and they have never heard of these trade in fees you are charging.

      Sincerely,

      *********************

The vehicle lessor is ALLY Financial, not Damerow ***** I have emailed you the contract provisions. It clearly states the terms change depending on what you are trying to accomplish. Their phone number is ************. You should speak to them since you do not believe what I am telling you. As I stated previously, you are free to pay off the vehicle and do whatever you want with it after that.

im not sure if you got my voicemail or email. I tried reaching out to them. They will not speak to me unless a dealer is on the phone. They recommended you call into them with me. Can we set a time to do so?

      Hello,

I am sorry that ALLY Financial never called you as they told me they would last Wednesday...I am glad that we were able to earn your business yesterday on a different vehicle and to end your lease with ALLY. I believe that we have resolved this situation to your satisfaction.

      Thanks,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I do want to thank you for going to lengths you did to resolve the situation. You offered to buy the car without a deal and resolving the questionable lease fees from ALLY, which was enough for me. I am honestly very grateful for the deal you made me on a new vehicle. Lowering the price to the extent you did in order to fit what my payment restrictions are was honestly above and beyond. I do recognize that you did not have to do that and took a major loss in order to work with me.

      Sincerely,

I was sold a 2022 **** Ranger. They said financing would be fine so they delivered the trick to me. Now they have run my credit again looking for financing options. Im super stressed Im getting screwed out of money and how the rest of the process will go. I either want to keep the truck with my original financing or get my down payment back and return the truck.

I placed my order with Damerow **** for a new vehicle 01/12/2022 I waited 3 months without a car I finally received the vehicle today 4/02/2022. The price agreed to for this vehicle was $23,135 I had a managers signature on my contract for when the vehicle arrived I would get this price . When I picked up the vehicle today that price was not validated! They told me the signature was from an employee who faked to be one of the managers and signed it and that person also does not work there anymore, that is was I was told. I ended up paying in full the price of $26,135 only because we desperately are in need of a vehicle we are a young married couple with a small baby and it was very difficult these past 3 months without havent something to move in. We feel robed and treated unfairly compared to other costumers

      Good afternoon,

I have reviewed the paperwork and the purchase order matches the original order at $25135 for the vehicle. There are DMV and other fees on the final paperwork that brings the total to ********. We have called to speak to ****************** already and we welcome her to call or return to the dealership ASAP so that we can resolve this confusion to her satisfaction.

      Best regards,

I am rejecting this response because: there was not a clear understanding of my complaint the contract that I signed shows in writing that the amount for the car was going to be $23,135, this is before fees and tax. The contract was supposedly signed by a Damerow **** manager that is what was told to me. On the day the vehicle arrived I was told that the signature was from a false manager and that person no longer worked there therefor my contract was invalid. My price was not validated as it should have been because the dealership agreed to lower the price to the original amount I had agreed to and that is why I kept my order with them but they lied to me and  had an employee pose as a manager and wrongfully sign my contract to get me to agree.

      Sincerely,

I bought a **** Mustang Mach-e SELECT 2021 at Damerow Ford Company in *********, ** at $4500 above MSRP on January 29, 2022 because I really needed one. I financed with **** through the dealership, completed all the paperwork for DMV, signed the purchase agreement and was promised the delivery of the car that was in "transit" and claimed to be arriving any day by January 31, 2022. 9 days after the promised delivery date I found out that the car was sold to someone else after my purchase. I bought a car that was never delivered to me. My credit also got hit multiple times and spent the whole day at dealership for paperwork for nothing.

      Good afternoon,

Unfortunately, we did accidentally sell the vehicle to someone else when it arrived. We have procedures in place to prevent this from happening, but they were not followed in this case. We are very sorry for the inconvenience. We are working to secure a replacement vehicle and will sell it for MSRP once we have it.

      Sincerely,
