This company just served my stepfather a small claim for a $27 hospital fee from 2020 for my mother, that she didn't even know existed. My mother is a senior citizen, and my stepfather is in hospice care.We called them and they wouldnt budge. They are taking advantage of her as they are now trying to collect nearly $200; without any itemization or notice of what exactly the charges are for. They refused to provide the details of the charges or an itemization and said the only thing we can do is contest it in small claims court which costs $57 to file. This company is clearly conducting unethical practices that are inhumane, harassing and are attempting to take advantage of an elderly couple with little to no resources. All this for a $27 fee from 4 years ago that for some reason her ******** and supplemental insurance didn't pay.

In 2008 I had a medical emergency. I never received medical bills so I thought the state covered the bills. Fast forward today 4/4/23, my loan officer for the home we are a lost to close on told me that this company has a judgment on me. I called they said in ********* had medical bills and in 2017 they served me papers for a judgement. I never signed anything because I live in az now so that was not true. First in ****** you cant collect a debit last 6 years. 2008-09 to 2017 was past the **** to collect the debt. So that is illegal now they refuse to remove this and dismiss this. I have not received one call this is mot on my credit report and did not know about this until today. I am demanding this to be removed asap. I close on my house this month. This is illegal.

This company contacted me about charges that I owed, they sent me the information that they stated I owed, and not one place on the paperwork had my name. At the time of the presented incident, I was 17 years old. I do not have a driver's license nor own a car. The accident that resulted in the vehicle that was towed and the charges incurred was not owned by me, nor was it ever driven by me. I have no connection to this debt in any way and feel this is a personal attack on my character and who I am. I am a young man just starting out in the world and do not want to be associated with this behavior.

I am an active duty first responder, and late last weekend I was notified by my mail that my wages are going to be garnished by Western Mercantile for a medical debt that is 14 year old. I'm also being pursued by the Law Offices of **************************** LLC for another portion of the supposed medical bill. I've received no paperwork or notification of this until I received paperwork in the mail of an impending garnishment. Back in Dec. of 2006 I was hospitalized for a week with bacterial meningitis. I filled out a charity application which I was apparently falsely told would wipe out the debt. At the time I was in the hospital I had my mom cancel my *** Store mailbox 243 which had been located at ***************************************************. My physical address at the same time was at Parkside Village on ******** Street Apt. B3, or which I had lived since April of ****. I received notice of a default judgement entered against me in Sept. of 2008 at that physical address. This complaint is seeking an immediate "release of garnishment" based on "excusable default" of not having proper notification of the impending suit. Original court paperwork states that I was to respond within ******************************************************************* they would win automatically. The problem is that all the info I would have needed to contest it was sent to that closed mailbox at the *** store. In other words I never received any of it, since it was being sent to a mailbox I had cancelled more than 2.5 years earlier so how could I possibly respond, therefore a default judgement was entered against me. I also never received any phone messages or other mail, at that time, or now. I had never received anything from WM until this notice of garnishment and they say on their website they can't leave any messages on voicemails, so if I don't answer when they call I would have no idea. I've contacted an attorney, am filing a complaint with the **** and Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.
