My daughter received emergency care in May of 2023. I received a bill from the hospital, but not from Mary's Peak Emergency Physicians. Not an EOB, nothing to even be able to see charges.Today, July 12, I receive a collection letter. There was nothing ever sent to my address for an initial bill, but their billing department has the audacity to turn it over to collections???What services am I paying for? How to I get my HSA reimbursed if I have NO EOB or original bill? What a disgusting way to take care of people.Initial Complaint

Back in August of 2021, my wife has an appointment in which the Mary's **** physicians provided services during the appointment. It was an emergency room appointment. We got the bill, which is $1460. We had a pending application with the hospital for financial assistance so we thought we'd wait to see if they accepted our application. They did, but almost a full year later. Since the hospital took so long to approve our application, they went back and covered the appointment with financial aid so we did not have to pay it, that bill was $2400. We kept getting the $1460 bill from ****'s **** so we called them, and the first person we talked to said "Don't worry about it, your financial assistance will cover it. But we kept getting the bill. We called and called and called and got told multiple times not to worry about it, and then the bill got sent to a collections agency. So I called them and asked what I needed to do to get the financial assistance to cover the bill. They first said that the financial assistance approval letter would work, but I told them they didn't approve me until after this appointment, but went back and covered the appointment on their end. So the person told me if I got proof that they covered the appointment with financial assistance, that would work to. So I got that information and called them again. The next person I talked to said the complete opposite, said that that information would NOT work, and that I NEEDED the letter of approval. I have been dealing with this for a year and a half now and the billing office of Mary's Peak Emergency Physicians have been the most unhelpful people I have ever encountered and several have straight up lied to me when it came to resolving the bill.Initial Complaint

I was seen in the ** on 10/19/2021. On 1/11/22, I received my first bill from Mary's Peak Emergency Physicians saying I owed $765.49. My insurance explanation of benefits said I owed $51.13, with total billing being $970.00, with member discount of $714.36, Insurance paid $204.51 leaving me with the $51.13 out of pocket. My wife contacted Mary's Peak Emergency Physicians by phone and asked for a corrected bill, speaking to ******. ****** indicated the amount of $51.13 was correct, and said she would send a corrected bill. None arrived. On 2/15 I received a second statement marked "Final Notice" in the amount of $765.49. A written request was mailed to the address on our bill on 2/23, with a copy of the *** and the bill, asking for a corrected bill. We were sent to collections in the amount of $$765.49 with notice received 4/15/22. Both the collections company and the physician billing service were sent disputes in writing on 4/15/22, as the fee being collected was again $765.49. Per regulation, the collection agency sent a copy of the bill from ****'s Peak, but again, the amount shown on the bill was $765.49, while the agency was only collecting $51.13 per their correspondence in the same envelope as the bill from ****'s Peak. Phone calls to either party are useless, as nobody answers the prompt when you select "speak to representative" and the call drops. I don't feel it was right to be sent to collections after receiving only 2 bills, less than a month apart, which were in error, and twice I asked for corrections. This practice is predatory and not becoming of a physician billing service.Initial Complaint

On 5/10/21 I was treated in the ** by a PA who works for Marys Peak Emergyency Phys (MPEP). I started getting bills in July 2021 and they finally filed a claim with my ******************************** in Dec 2021 after I told them to do so. The claim was denied because the provider was not eligible to perform the tasks he billed for. Had the claim been accepted, my portion would have been 30%. I am happy to pay that amount. The billing company told me in email that they would not send me to collections until the issue was resolved but no further action was taken by them. The after visit summary provides a phone # to call if the billing company cannot resolve complaints, but it is a message line and no one ever calls back. That number is ************. Samaritan Heath ******** refuses to intervene or provide any contact information. I am now faced with collections for 100% of the ****. My position is that since they made the decision to assign a provider who is not eligible to **** for services, that they should absorb the portion of the cost that BCBS would have paid.Initial Complaint

I had an emergency room visit on 8/18/21.I received the Physicians **** from MARY'S PEAK EMERGENCY PHYSICIANS . I started to pay the **** and was making payments. It turned out I paid more then I should have and was entitled to a refund. I had made 3 payments totaling $350.00 Of the $1431.00 ****, my insurance *** paid a total of $1357.61. I only owed them $73.39.A refund was owed to me in the amount of $276.61.I called them 12/30/21 and I was told they would check into it. I called back on 1/20/22 (talked to Albrto) and nothing was done yet so he created a 'ticket for refund'. I called back on 3/9/22 and was told that the refund was approved on 1/23/22 and allow ***** days .I called back on 6/8/22 (talked to Vida) because it had been more than 90 days. she now says there is no info that they owe me a refund. And a supervisor would call me. of course no call.....I called today 7/7/22 (talked to **** she now informs me that they are behind on refunds and it will be longer. She could not answer how much longer!!!!!!!I am afraid now that because their story changes each time I call and I am getting the run around and they do not plan on refunding me my money...This is $276.61 due me. That is a lot of money to me.
