In the spring of 2022, I took my Viking Husqvarna **** sewing machine to the River Road Sewing and Vacuum Store in ****** **. for a repair on a cracked fly wheel. I was told by the man at the counter that it was possible that a part could be salvaged from old broken machines of the same model that had been donated for parts. This sounded great! I called a month later and was told they hadnt gotten to it yet. I waited another month and stopped by. There was another machine next to mine in an identical case. The man told me he had been trying to reach the owner, who was not responding, about her intentions with the machine, hoping to salvage the parts from it. I agreed to wait. I got no word again so I went in to the store the week of Aug. 8 and when I was again told that no work had been done on my machine, took my machine home. Having another machine to use at home, I didnt think to open the case until several weeks later. I discovered bits of plastic, lint, dirt and oil covered my machine and the accessory box. Then I noticed a random cut off wire and plug coiled up with my electrical wires. Next I discovered that the cover on the stitch wide k*** was missing and the button **** was broken. The source of the bits of plastic turned out to be from the accessory box, which looked like someone had taken a grinder to it, leaving sharp raw edges. I cleaned up the mess and set up the machine to use. Sadly, I then discovered that the feed dog no longer worked. It appeared that my machine was the one being used for parts! I sent private message through the website on September 14 and got no response. On September 29, I called the *********** location and spoke with a manager or owner, tried to share my story, got cut off gruffly before I could finish, then was hung up on. No money exchanged hands but I would like the cost of repairs due to the damage to my machine be paid for by River Road Sewing.
