I wrote a letter re: my business transaction grievences to *******, head manager at Echo Hollow Vet, after allowing them to treat my dog for bad diarrhea on 2/16/24, 8 a.m. The non-actions of the vet did not conform to professional standard of conduct. They have a legal liability based on common negligence. They now claim they did everything right & will not adjust the added costs they caused, after 2/16. Will not settle directly in any manner. Failed to provide most common/ any diarrhea medicine to my 15yr old service dog, as a result of forgetting/ omitting the proper and most common care. Caused added, unecessary ****************** over $400, after already paying nearly $700 for common illness on 2/16/24, 8 a.m. Required dog take stronger, harsh medicines now and made him much sicker then he needed to get, affecting me greatly as well, including a lot of supplies purchased to manage his condition in sanitary and effective way. They are maintain that I still owe the egregious bill for care and new illnesses treatments that would never have been necessary. *** admitted her error to me verbally the following Monday, 2/19/24, at my dog's re-examination, which was only necessary because his diarrhea only got worse after seeing her, over Fri-Mon days, it was severe: worsened bleeding and chronic water ****, with developed swollen, bleeding ****, stomach cramps, etc. Led to UTI hes never had, and bad eye infection. The doctor kept leaving after initial contact at both exams, never to return because her attention was fractured/divoded between multiple patience, so the care I paid for, suffered in quality and proper completion, even though 2/19 she promised this time to cone back. They just came into new ownership since Jan 2024, but kept same vet name, falsly giving the impression to patrons that it is the same company with same standard as before the name was adopted by new management and ownership. I had no idea our old vet office was no longer the same!!!

    Customer response

    03/25/2024

I did email the manager, *******, at  Echo Hollow to inform them of my olive leaf resolution offer. I told them it would be satisfactory, in order to cone to closure, if they only waived the unsatisfactory charge from Feb. 19, 2024, the only balance I signed for, to hold a balance still due. This particular day was only accrued due to a lack of proper treatment, the previous Friday, when the vet failed to ensure his care included 'something for diariah' meaning, medicine to stop and treat the diariah he had, on our first visit.

My dog died Mar 8 of an unknown fever. The fact that he got so sick, because not oroficiently treated, only complicated his recovery. He had a procedure, after death, to investigate what conditions he may have had going on, before he died. He has intense inflammation in his digestive system and some free fluid on his abdomen.  His white blood cells were low/compromised. Had he been sufficiently treated on our first visit, Friday, Feb 16, he may not have ended up so sick, beyond no return.

Old dogs can't necessarily weather negligence. He was very healthy in most areas, otherwise.

I'd like to avoid taking this to legal action. I 100% BELIEVE this vet deserves to take responsinility for failing to see his care plan through and leaving both appts, too distracted to give complete, attentive care to a dog with a typical illness, she knew how to treat, and said she would.

I've already made consessions on all other fibancial and circunstantial points.

It has also been past the time frame when a response is expected from the vet office.

Please email or snail mail me, or tell me what number you would be contacting me from. I get spam calls from long distance area codes and if no mssg is left, I block them. I'm concerned tgat without knowing what phone number to watch for, this could interfere in completing this complaint.

I'm completely heartbroken my service dog is gone and I regret, every day, taking him to Echo Hollow. I have every intention to share my story with our local community, if they continue to estout that they did everything right and provided upstanding service to the vulnerable citizens and service animal of this town. They know they did not, and ai will not let it rest, unless they do sonething to make ammends and be self responsible and honest with themselves, me and the world.
