March 21, 2024 I went to Eyecare Associates for a cataract assessment. I got new glasses last year, but only after some fails due to cataracts. I told Optometrist *************************** this. She was wonderful, explaining about living with my icicle cataracts. She was most confident eyeglasses would improve my current vision. I did not want or need new glasses but as I only have one eye, I thought best to take good care of it. I bought the cheapest frames available, prepaid $545 on my **** & $225 of my Samaratin benefits Mastercard. The eye glasses failed. I asked if we can now agree glasses will not help with cataracts? I was reexamined and prescribed a second pair. Failure. I saw everything double. Now, for the first time I am told there is a 20% restocking fee. But I am ultimately told (April 26, 2024, I will be charged 55% $303.00 as the benefits card is not cash and now they want me to pay for the lenses, too. The fine print clause they are using to justify this reads: Your eyeglasses will be made according to your prescription. If cancelled during this process you may be liable for charges. My reviews on Eyecare Associates is removed within minutes, they have zero email and no one returns my calls. I did not cancel any process, the process failed. I would like my entire $545 back and my $225 benefits. Thank you for your help.
