Business sold me a 2010 wrx Sti, charged me blue book for a car with 0 miles on it because they claimed to have just installed a brand new motor. I noticed a little smoke and that the check engine light was on they said it was an easy fix and it would be repaired before pick up of the car. I made it a few blocks before the car began to smoke again and the check engine light came on. Most of the functions controlled by the computer will not work while the check engine light is on so I have no drive modes, no traction control, no cruise control. Contacted them and they agreed to fix it I had to rent a car for two days, before getting it back, only for the same process to repeat. I only made it a few miles before the problems persisted. Contacted them multiple time sent multiple video and photos they requested, before they accused me of being hostile and quite responding to me.

It is impossible for us to send a blue book of the vehicle having 0 miles to a lender because KBB and lenders pull most recent/updated report including Carfax of how many miles are on the vehicle at time of sale.
The vehicle repair that was reported was an oil leak that was causing the vehicle to smoke due to it dripping unto the exhaust cover. We repaired the vehicle, and returned it to customer. Some time later we had  a follow up with customer, stating there was still a leak, which from photos seemed like it was coming from the pigtail sensor.(Which is very common with oil sensors when they fail) We told the customer to bring the vehicle in, and we would replace the sensor, then he started claiming that we sold a brand new vehicle to him with 0 miles, even though the odometer disclosure that was signed by the customer stated the actual miles of the vehicle. ******** then stated he wanted to return the vehicle and get a full refund on it, we told him this was not possible but we can repair the is***, then he instantly went into telling us he was going to *** us and mentioned lemon laws. Vehicle was sold as is, with no warranty.(Which was signed by customer at time of sale). Customer got really hostile, therefor we stopped communicating after he kept bringing up a lawsuit. We try to make sure all our customers are satisfied with their purchase, and we fully understand that used vehicles will have is***s over time and its very common. We try to help all our customers with whatever we can, but when we are being threatened with a lawsuit, that's when our hands are tied. Also when the vehicle first came in for a repair, we noticed that he was already in an accident with the quarter panel and doors having severe damage on them and the customer laughed about it saying he was waiting for the insurance to pay for it. Regardless of the vehicle being in an accident , we tried to help him anyway without knowing if the oil leak he is claiming of the vehicle having was caused by the accident. or not.

I purchased my vehicle at Tarcus Motor company, a week later I went for an oil change. The mechanics noticed cracks and a hole on the transmission as well as loose and missing bolts on the engine. I contacted the dealer where I purchased the vehicle and explained to them what the mechanic found, Tarcus motors told me to stop by In a week and they will take a look at it. After they looked at it they Told me to stop by in a couple weeks and they will try to do something about it. I stopped by the ******** dealership and was told that the car is not safe to drive, due to bold tires, crack in the transmission, multiple loose bolts, and that maximum I could use it is for a week before there are serious issues and possibility of an accident, the ******** dealership gave me a estimate of $13,000 for repairs. I went back to Tarcus Motors and asked to to take it back since they lied to me, to my pastor who recommended them after they told him the vehicle is in pristine condition, and they just smiled and laughed in my face. I reviewed the company online and their is a number of complaints about them similar to mine, I believe these people are practicing fraudulent activities and are lying to the customers.

      *******************************

Thank you for taking your time to help us resolve this case. We sold ****************** the 2014 ************* E350 AS-IS on 05/31/2023. We have never met ******* prior to this sale.
******* initially scheduled an appointment for an older ************* that we had for sale, after seeing the 2014 E350, he was much more interested in this one. We went over both the cars, he compared them, compared price and was much happier with the 2014. ******* did not want to get a Pre-Purchase Inspection done, he looked throughout the car and did his own visual inspection. We discounted the price for minor flaws with the 2014 E350, and signed paperwork.

He reached out to us on 06/12/2023 saying that he had gotten an oil change done at his friend's family shop and noticed that there were some issues found with the car. He sent us a few photos and videos, we looked everything over with our shop, and asked him to bring it in for us to do our own inspection on the vehicle. He also started adding on other things like tires, alignment and miscellaneous items. Again knowing that we had discounted those items when negotiating originally on the price. He also started mentioning that he would much rather just bring the car back or get money back, ($5,000.00 to be exact) however we agreed to have him bring the vehicle in for us to inspect. He brought the vehicle in on 06/19/2023, we did our inspection and let him know that we will try to come to a resolution that works for him and for us, as he did purchase the vehicle AS-IS and did not want any additional warranty at the time of purchase. Generally, we are not required to offer any help, however we try to help each customer with anything that they need.  Any of the issues that happened with the vehicle could have happened during the time that he has owned the car, and not something that has been there since the very beginning. We do our own inspections on each vehicle prior to sale, and also drive them to make sure there are no issues. This vehicle ran and drove perfectly when ******* picked it up, he also said that himself a few times over the phone and in person.

We reached back out to Valerii the following day (06/20/2023) and offered a few options for him. The first offer being that we will fix the transmission, change out all 4 tires, and figure out the oil leak that has developed.
The second offer was to take the car back, however ******* would need to pay $5,000.00 for us to take the vehicle back. It came back with a transmission issue, oil leak, and a very bad smoke odor inside the car.
After we sent the message out to him, we patiently waited. We did not hear anything back, we figured he had just ended up wanting to fix it himself and not involve us in it anymore. We got a review not much later, from his brother ****. His review was also false, saying that we did not answer his phone calls, refused to help him in any way and so on.

******* reached back out to us on 07/03/2023 asking what we are going to do and what the plan is. I told him that now there is nothing we can do since his friends and family members started slandering our business, and making fake reviews about the dealership. He then started cursing at us, saying that he will spread word throughout the whole *************************** and will go around all the local churches talking about us.
      FILE : 20353530
      *******************************

This is unacceptable after we tried to help him countless times, and offered different resolutions. Throughout the whole process ******* kept insisting that we give him $5,000.00 back and he keeps the car, or we take the car back. He not once mentioned taking the car to the ************* dealership. At the end of the day, we did everything we could, and ******* was simply out to get a handout. We offered help and in return we got threats from him and different types of accusations. Still to this day, we are getting negative reviews from him and his friends that had nothing to do with this transaction.

Thank you for taking your time to help us resolve this case.

      Customer response

      Complaint: 20353530

I am rejecting this response because:

      Sincerely,

      *******************************

I went to Tarcus Motor to buy a car and we looked at a number of vehicles and I decided to go with the ******** even that it was a little more expensive but I wanted to purchase a vehicle that was reliable.
They had a good rating as I saw. But unfortunately I didn't look at the negative reviews as I was shown only positive reviews. **** I faced the problem and felt the deception and fraud I started to look at all the negative reviews of the company and saw that I was not the only customer who was deceived. They also deceived their business partner, the review from the partner is also on ******* just imagine how they deal with the  customers If they deceive the people close to them . **** I went to see the car they behaved quite well as it seemed to me and to the person who was with me.  They said they knew me I used to sing in their church as they told me. But unfortunately I don't remember them, they were very trustworthy.
That same day I called a friend of ours who is a pastor of the church that one that one of the Tarcus Motor salesmen attends. I asked him to talk to Tarcus Motor, hoping they wouldn't cheat him, Since I don't know anything about cars. I got a call back from the church pastor. He assured me that they are decent people who are believers and go to his church, they can be trusted, they said that the car is in very good condition and even we will make a little discount as  we know you. I believed them that the car is in  good condition without any problems, but now Tarcus motor says that they made a discount for minor damage which is another lie. There is a witness that heard them make a discount only because we have common friends. And as it turned out they deceived me and the pastor of the church and people who were involved in the purchase of the car.
      The deception is as follows.
After buying the car a week later I called them to find out when to change the oil. ****** told me that he didn't know they didn't change the oil and told me that you can drive 500 miles. **** we talked, ****** said they don't check cars. If the car's running and there's no faults then there's no point in checking it. And now ****** says that they always check everything again another lie. A couple of days later I went to change the oil. The mechanics saw damage to the gearbox and there was a crack on it. They also found bold tires that looked ok from the exterior but the inside was extremely bold due to bad alignment and balance, loose bolts on the engine and gearbox, oil and coolant dripping. The mechanics asked me if I bought the car at an auction. No, I bought it from a dealer. The mechanics were very surprised at such dealers, how can they cheat people so brazenly. The mechanics told me that this car is not safe to drive that with this damage, give it back to them, it's a very problematic car. I went to Tarcus Motor to return the car. The salesman ****** told me we need to see it, and to send them photos and video.
Then he told me to come back in a week, they don't have time for me at that time. Of course I was shocked by this attitude.
**** I brought the car back a week later and saw ******, he smiled and said why did you bring this garbage here? It was his joke as I understood it. I told him this garbage will stay here now. They looked at it and smiled and said we can weld up the gearbox, see where it leaks and maybe replace the tires. I asked ****** if you would rent me the car while you repair mine. He told me we don't do that. There is a witness who can confirm ******'s words when he said well give you $500 and you don't bother us anymore.
I was shocked, I told him you sold me an unsafe car with a lot of damage. Take it back. I didn't buy it to repair it and I can't sell it. I won't cheat people. They said you can't give it back. It doesn't work that way. Even if you **** you're gonna lose your money. I told them I'd leave a review to protect other buyers. ****** said it would do you no good, as always. And now they're complaining about leaving a review. Which is anyone's right. No one cheated or lied about Tarcus Motor.
Then ****** started looking for excuses not to take the car back saying that his mechanics heard a strong smell of cigarettes even though they didn't sit in the car and nobody smoked in the car.
****** also told me to give them $5,000 and forget about the down payment then we will take the car. It sounds very funny but sad as in the previous conversation with ************** told him the the Mechanic gave me an estimate of $5,000 to repair the issues and now hes telling me that I need to give them the $5,000.  I was shocked by such dishonest behavior.
And now Tarcus Motor is trying to justify themselves by deception again. They're already saying I went to a mechanic friend and demanded $5,000 from them and cursed them with bible verses. It's all lies. I told them the mechanics told me how much it would cost to fix the problem. $5,000 is the mechanics' fee.
There's also a report and an estimate of $13,000 from the ******** dealer. The ******** dealer also said after the inspection that it's not a safe car, and the damage is not new.
I told the ******** dealer the situation. They said that the guys should take the car back. It's a fraud what they sold you. They also advised me to contact BBB.
Also Tarcus motor says that they offered to do a full inspection of the car and to take an additional warranty, which is also a lie.
I can't understand and believe that there are such Hypocritical lying salesmen like Tarcus Motor, especially ****** the salesman has a lot of complaints about him.
I have witnesses who heard all the conversations and also personally communicated with the seller ****** where he blatantly lied to them.I also have reports from the mechanics and the ******** dealership.

PS: I was able to attach pictures of damages, I can send them in another email if needed. Also, my tires are so bad I had to put on a spare and currently do not drive the car.

We purchased car from tarcus at the end of March and after a month of driving car went into limp mode and unable to drive more than 10 mph. We had car towed to ******** Motor Works who ****** the valvetronic motor had gone bad but noted had been replaced in March while in dealers possession. The however did not fix the underlying issue that caused the failure nor did they disclose this to ** on purchase. We have reached out to them to discuss possibly helping with cost of repair given it was a known issue but they have refused to even speak with ** despite daily calls for over a week.
