      General Contractor ****** ****** went into a contract with me the homeowner to remodel 2 bathrooms and build out a sunroom - bathrooms were completed within 2 weeks of start of project in Feb2023- but GC did not initiate permit for sunroom until 6/23 and then failed to provide any of the needed items to the City of ****** to allow for the permit to begin- in December the permit expired, and when I contacted ****** over the permit expiration he advised he had already spent the $17, 000 that was given in good faith toward permit and material costs to build out sunroom- and that if we wanted project to be completed that we as the homeowners should apply, and if approved only then would the contractors review their availability to start the sunroom. After reviewing the process of permits and the overall responsibility we as the homeowners would take on (insurance and liability) we were directed by the City to find a new contractor since their records show that when Boanerges applied for the initial permit they failed to reply to the city’s request until the permits expired after 6 months.
