Im only giving 3 stars until my case is resolved for short term disability claim. I recently filed a short term disability claim through the standard, I also have long term disability critical illness insurance and a life insurance policy through the standard. I have numerous health issues that my dr took me off work because Im too sick to work. I sent in records from *************** and is awaiting my physician statement. Im praying they approve my claim and allow me time to get all of the necessary tests done and begin to heal without worrying how Im going to pay my bills. I have been to dr ************ almost every day. The reason Im writing this review is to come back to give an update on if they approved or denied my claim and the reasons why. Im paying the standard almost ********************************************************************************* case I couldnt work. So now that I cant work i expect that I will get short term disability from the standard. I will update my review once the standard deny or approve my claim. If its denied this policy is a total waste of money I will have to explore other insurance companies. I would be afraid if I did get critically sick and cant work the standard would deny my claim and Ill loose everything that i have car home etc due to being too sick to work, I will update once I get an answer from the standardReview from Christine W

WORST COMPANY EVER...I did not request any leave paperwork I submitted paperwork to you through my physician which you provided to me on multiple occasions asking for a return to work date. Which has now been provided to you via fax on July 19th 2024. My return to work date as far as I am and my doctor are concerned is not determined by you, you are NOT my doctor. My return to work date is August 5th 2024. I and my doctor have filled out paperwork twice and submitted it to you after you denied my benefits because of verbage in your own paperwork and you decided that you were going to play my doctor after I had 2 strokes ( *** and MASSIVE ) and determine my return to be 4 weeks after my strokes there is nothing attached in the email you sent me except for a letter stating that you believe my return to work should be August 2nd NOTHING else. By August 2nd I will have only been on a leave of absence for 85 days. After 2 strokes. You don't get to play "GOD" and stop pretending that you're doctors. I pay my premium to your company and when I have a major life altering event I expect to be treated with respect, dignity and compassion. Not the overbearing, over talking can't get a word in because customer service is horrible and talks over you, never can get a straight answer, no communication, having, case manager doesn't return calls in a timely manner company. We don't ask for things to happen and to change or affect our lives but we do expect a company that we pay for out of every paycheck to be there for us when we need them without all of the unnecessary c*** you attach to make it impossible to get FMLA OR SHORT TERM DISABILITY YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES.Review from Denise R

Husband still hasn't gotten paid, they claim there a note about using PTO they made up so they wouldn't have to pay. When all documents show the job set everything correctly they decided to open another ticket, why. The company had everything they needed because they don't want to pay out. Still haven't got paid because now pass to each with no clue what to say but hoping the client stop calling along with company (job)These insurances company are jokes. Oh now they claim no return document wasn't completed, again another lie they were caught in. Paying into this company is not worth it individuals and company if not trying not to pay people should work or pay the *******.Review from Heather D

I have had FMLA interment leave for my daughter who is a very sick child. They say I have so many weeks & if I use say 2 hrs they use that as a day. They make mistakes all the time. I get several different answers from different people when I call to ask a question. They stress me out & I never have a good experience with them!Review from Bob O

They deposited my monthly 401K payment into someone else's account. After talking to their off shore support people and supervisor, it was basically sorry and we'll get back to you in 5 days or so, maybe a bit longer. They would not say when I would get my money. looks like its time to Roll it over into an *** and move the money somewhere else.Do NOT put money into this company!!!Review from Kathryn M

I never had a ticket nor an accident and I am 56. I was hit and they paid the claim to the other driver. I had a very small bump on my truck. The driver left the scene after I called the police as he was drunk. My insurance went up ****** every 6 mo. and is on MY RECORD FOR 6 YEARS. THESE PEOPLE ARE HORRIBLE.Review from Marion T

In September of 2023 I had called the Standard about my 401k and switched my future contributions from a 401k to a ****. In March 2024 they started another 401k without me catching it right away they took over $4200 from me until I caught it in June 2024. They said we sent you a letter that we recommend you start another 401k which I do not remember getting this notice so not only were they taking that they also were taking the **** as well and thats $630 per week they were taking out of my check. This is ridiculous and especially when I I switched in September 2023 to a ****. What in the world would make them think I would be ok with them starting another whole 410k?? This is not right and I believe they need to refund that money they just took from me. I have been on the phone several times and on the last call they said this is now under investigation with out even someone telling me and I still have not heard from them and my bank acct is very short!! I Contacted The Standard for a recertification of a "Reduced Schedule" FMLA leave on 4/15/24. My leave was set to expire on 5/15/24. I contacted a representative at The Standard, (as was advised to do) to get the process started by, 1. notifying them, 2. receiving my certification paperwork from them to bring to my physician. After receiving my paperwork, I scheduled my appointment with my physician for 4/24/24. Sent my FMLA paperwork to The Standard on 4/27/24. waited about a week, called them numerous times to enquire about my leave. I was continuously given the runaround by The Standard. My previous "Reduced Schedule FMLA leave" expired on 5/15/24. My FMLA leave is only for 4 hours per week. This has been THE MOST unpleasant experience for me and has even placed me in "CRISIS". The Standard and my employer has been passing the blame on each other. Today is 5/26/24 and I still have not received an answer from The Standard concerning my FMLA leave!!! You would think 2 Multi-Million Dollar Corporations can handle a simple FMLA leave. UNBELIEVABLE!!!Review from Sheila S

***********************. . I have tried for over a year to get my check direct deposited. I fill out the form and send it to them. The direct deposit never gets processed. I call and call get nothing.I asked to speak to a Manager. They never accomplish this either. I get no communication back from they. Nothing saying I need something else. No communication period. I am still waiting on Hello my long term disability claim. I filed now over 4 months ago.. been passed from Analyst to analyst. Horrible horrible company Im definitely canceling my services with them after this. If they deny my claim me and my doctor are prepared to fight it.. Iost my place of living due to them dragging there feet.
