1 starComing from someone who use to work there this establishment is horrible. When trying to do your job they lay the hammer down hard especially the hire **** They cause so much stress it takes a toll on the employees state of mind how bad the managers are trying to reach quotas. They do not care for their ************** shows. They have problems within their systems & blame the employees so they can try to get rid of them. There needs to be an internal investigation into their management & how they talk & interaction with their employees.Review fromGuy I

1 starLaughed at me when I had a question. Likes to drop their clients without due process. Send too many items through the mail with deadlines and have to scramble to get the tasks done. My case worker was none contact with me. If you have an ounce of respect for your employees you want use The Standard. The Standard for being inconsiderate to the ones in need. ****Review fromSmthng C

1 starI got a letter in the mail about a rollover *** from securian, they said they were just bought out by **************************........ not suspicious at all. Call the number given to me by securian, and they won't do anything unless they have your social security number, this of course should be a huge red flag to everyone, but wait not to worry, if you aren't comfortable about giving your social security number, you can just give your full name and last six of your social security number......... There is absolutely no risk in providing that sensitive information what so ever....... But wait there's more, if you don't feel comfortable with that you can always use the automated phone system to enter........ Wait for it....... Your full social security number which completely protects you.... from..... identity.... theft....... yep. Securian and standard are complete scams and by far the worst attempt at social engineering. It's fun to mess with them though. For some reason they did not feel comfortable providing me with their social security number........ WeirdReview fromsandra R

1 starpoor customer service, not easy to get a hold of if you have a problem, ****************** the online web portal is a joke. Their status number is also a joke they do not get back with you. You can fill a claim online, you don't hear anything for over a week or more then they send you the paperwork and tell you to take it to your employer. why bother? Helped a co-worker file out online for long term disability spent over an hour trying to figure it out. THEN they sent her the same papers we filled out online saying she needed to fill them out and send them in! WHY? If you have the opportunity to stay with another company DO NOT change over to the standard.Review fromRobert G

1 starThis company discriminates against age. I applied for extra insurance for a small amount of ********* dollars and was refused because they said I was on blood pressure medication. Come to find out from other coworkers that are on blood pressure medicine have insurance from them or they have gotten extra insurance for their spouse and talking with my coworkers they have told me that the reason why they bought extra insurance is because their health was not that great. I truly believe they discriminated against me because Im nine months away from 70 years old truly making me believe that they denied me because of my age. Im very fit for my age and no one can believe that Im going to be 70. I definitely believe that they have discriminated against me because of my age and not because of my medication that my doctor is taking me off of. Think twice about getting insurance from this company because if you discriminate against age that is unlawful and using blood pressure medication for an excuse is even worse especially when you know for a fact that other coworkers are on blood pressure medication and they have gotten insurance for themselves or their spouse. The Standard is not the insurance company that you want for yourself or family members. I believe its time to seek out legal counsel on their practice of discrimination.Review fromJ D H

1 star**** in sheep's clothing really helped for first part till they set me up to steal 21k from me they now say I owe them because I was getting $ ******** from SSA. The problem is that SSA says I have never received monies or receiving now. Sent paperwork that showed this from ***, they still took my money and won't talk to me; if I didn't know better I would think was a scam. They say I have to do all this jumping through hoops in just days or I owe for something they made up. I hope this helps someone else. They wait till your in Hardship then strike.Review fromKim O

1 starMy husband received disability until his social security kicked in and only then we were informed that we had to pay everything back. We didn't have a lawyer and couldn't afford one. I had to take out a loan just to keep our credit from being ruined. I had a similar problem where after they informed me they wanted the money back they wouldn't respond to emails or phone calls. Terrible experience with the Standard.Review fromDonna L

1 starIve been awaiting a distribution check since January 2025. Today is March 25, 2025. They put a stop payment because the check never made it to the destination in Feb and when it still want received I called and they said it was never sent because they needed a mailing address even though they had forms from me which showed the mailing address AND they had sent one check successfully to the address provided to them. They said theyd re-issue then cancelled the stop payment! They again said they reissued a check on 3/11/25 then stopped it again. I have thousands of dollars they are messing with. I would not do business with this company. There is incompetence in the processing department and they yes you with no resolution. Do not trust this company with your money.Review fromAPRIL S

1 starThis company is a nightmare to work with. If I could give zero stars that would be too high of a score. Every employee there gives a different answer when trying to find out about your claim. They will tell you when having to switch for STD to *** it will automatically roll over. This is not the case. I was told that nothing was needed from me to get on *** and someone would contact me after my STD ended. NO ONE will contact you. I called 2 weeks after my STD ended and was told I didn't have a claim so they couldn't help me. I went on their website and found *** paperwork and took to my doctor. I sent it to them and my doctor also did. I was told that once STD ended a new claim would have to be filed for the *** and my employer has to approve me getting *** benefits. My employer terminated me while I was on STD due to my conditions so I doubt they will approve a new *** claim. They also told me that getting *** once STD ended is not a for sure thing. They said they have to request all my medical records, case analysts have to review them, then it goes on to their medical department for review which this wil take 180 days from the time the *** department received my claim paperwork. They will do everything they possibly can to make excuses NOT to pay you any of your benefits This is the worst company ever. They drag their feet and will come up with excuses to make sure you don't get any benefits This company should not even be in business. I have no idea how they stay in business shut them done now Only crappy employees choose crappy benefitsReview fromCheryl R

1 starTerrible , nothing but overseas people , who cant speak English very well . Payments never on time , on hold over 38 minutes each time . Ask to speak to manager , they hang up ! They where to over night my final check , since it never showed up , here we sit no check and no correspondence. They claim there are no managers on staff ? I thought by law there had to be one ? I hope I never have to use them again !!! Its a terrible headache when you have to depend on them for your money ! I hope future companies see this , before they use them!
