On February 6th I paid for parking before going to my childrens school to attend a concert. The concert went 20 minutes longer than it was supposed to and when I got back to my car 30 minutes after my parking had expired I had received a ticket for over $40. It cost $1.50 to park in this lot for an hour. I would gladly pay a fee closer to what I should have paid for the hour, Im not denying that I parked longer than I paid for, but over $40 for an extra 30 or 40 minutes of parking is exorbitant, disgusting and exploitative.

    Business Response

    Date: 03/24/2025

The parking violation was issued correctly for expired parking. You failed to abide by the fee schedule and we do not accept appeals past 30 days. This is a final determination.

I am rejecting this response because:
The claim that I did not abide by the fee schedule is disingenuous. I reached out the day I received the ticket and was never contacted despite messaging indicating that a response would be made within 30 days.

    Sincerely,

SKYY PARKING slapped a $54 violation on my windshield in a lot where the parking meter was not working. I tried it several times to pay the $12 parking fee, to no avail. There were no staff members on the lot and nobody present to assist with the non-working parking machine. I am not willing to pay this hefty fine for something that was unavoidable. I'm also very unsure about the SKYY PARKING website and do not trust it. I need to know its legitimacy, and I'd like this fee removed from my record for the reasons stated above.

    Good day,
Your appeal has been received and reviewed. This parking penalty was issued correctly for failing to display a valid parking pass. We apologize for any inconvenience this experience may have caused you but there are no valid grounds in ************* Code that requires the dismissal of this parking penalty. As such, we regret to inform you that your request for dismissal of this parking penalty is denied.

Hello and Happy New Year. You had parked at a garage that requires payment upon parking. Your vehicle did not display a valid parking pass on the dash and the subsequent parking penalty was issued. Complaint: 22775464

I am rejecting this response because:

    - The fee is exorbitant. I've never seen a penalty of 340%. $44 on $10 is unacceptable as a business practice and I've made a complaint with the city.

    - I didn't see any signage or machine out in the open. Please provide pictures of where they are.

    Sincerely,

    *********** ****

    Business Response

    Hi ***********,

This location has been inspected and approved by The City of ******** for posted sign requirements. The postings comply with all code requirements. It's unfortunate you missed them, which is why you received the parking penalty. The parking penalty is also assessed by The City of ******** and Skyy Parking cannot independently charge a random fine. Please see images of the entrance of the parking garage. We hope this response and the more dedailed response you receive from the City will encourage you to be more mindful of parking regulation on private property. Thank you and have a nice day.

On 10/9/2024, Skyy Parking mailed my husband, ****, a "failure to make payment" parking violation for a lot we've never parked in. The date in question was 10/5/2024 in *********, ******. I have attached both the violation we received (with our address covered,) including the photos they included as "proof." Funny enough, the photos only serve to prove that we DIDN'T park there. The top photo shows **** driving through the lot in his green Prius, but never parking because he realized once he got closer that it was paid parking only. We drove through to turn around and NEVER parked in the lot. The bottom photo shows the lot less than 3 minutes later, with our green Prius nowhere in sight. However, there is a red arrow pointing to some car that Skyy Parking is claiming to be ours, despite it very clearly NOT being our green Prius. Again, we never parked in their lot, and their provided photographic "evidence" only serves to prove that.Since we never parked in their lot, no services were rendered, and there is no failure to make payment. We have no reason to pay the $56 fine they are falsely demanding from us. We want this violation rightfully appealed.

I recently submitted submitted complaint against Skyy Parking regarding a parking violation at a lot my husband and I never parked in. Shortly after submitting my complaint, the company has appealed our "violation," which was our desired outcome. Since I'm unable to amend the complaint, I just wanted to reach out and provide that update!

We stopped at this lot in ********* not knowing that it was a private lot. No signage told us it was. We were facing the street with local shops. The signage was nowhere to be found. I checked and didn't see any signs. A few weeks later they're trying to charge $117. Threatening to take it to collections. I'm beyond ******. Never parking in that lot ever again. This company is a scam.

I was driving to pick up food from the restaurant right next to a parking lot in *********. I let my passenger out to grab the food and parked for maybe a total of 2 minutes before they came back out with it. This was two months ago. Fast forward to today, I received mail from SkyyParking saying I'm being charged $45 for a failure to make payment, $10 for a parking fee, and $4 for an administrative ******* know what, okay, sure, I did technically park there (FOR ONE MINUTE). But fine, I'd pay the $59 parking ticket because I understand the consequences of my actions. HOWEVER, instead of giving me an opportunity to do that, I receive a notice 2 months later in the mail saying that the charge is now doubled because I never paid the original notice. Except that they NEVER sent me a notice of violation. I check my mail every day. I am even signed up for informed delivery that shows you what you are getting in the mail that day. When I tell you I never received an initial notice, I did NOT receive it. Further, because they never sent me an initial notice but claim they did, I can no longer file an appeal with them because it's "been 30 days since the original notice". Apparently, this is a normal thing for them because I have never in my life seen more angry and ****** off reviews of a parking lot.

    Business Response

    Date: 10/28/2024

If you received a parking violation it is because your vehicle was taking space in a paid lot and parked longer than 2 minutes as claimed. Please contact us directly and we can adjust the bill to relfect the original amount for an additional 10 days. Thank you. *******************************

We paid for parking at *********** before having dinner there, but despite paying, no ticket came out. We let Dimos know and they gave us specific instructions instructions on what to do and we complied exactly. Despite that, we still received a ticket from Skyy Parking. I have left multiple messages and responded to Skyy Parking with all of the required evidence and they have not responded. I feel that we have been defrauded by Skyy Parking and they should not be allowed to do business in ********. I have asked them to write a formal Apology to both myself as well as ********* but they are not responding.

    Business Response

    Date: 09/03/2024

The complainant's appeal was received and responded to. Dimos Pizza is not the parking operator at this location. The complainant's parking violation was dismissed.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 09/07/2024

    Complaint: 22222602

I am rejecting this response because I need to have my parking fee of $8 refunded, I need an apology from Skyy Parking, and I need the validation process altered so as not to be confusing to diners at Dimos.

Let me reiterate that the parking situation was not working correctly at the Dimo's Parking lot. First of all, there was a small, handwritten sun and rain faded sign at the bottom of the parking meter that was not visible to us that evening. That sign says that ****'s patrons should go inside first. There, they are supposed to get a one page explanation of how to validate the parking. But there is a line at Dimo's and that process of having to go inside and then engage with the machine would be very complicated.

So, not knowing that you are supposed to go in to get validated, we paid for parking but the meter did not produce the ticket. And it is absolutely critical to understand that there was no signage about saying what to do when the meter is not able to produce tickets.

So, we go inside, order and tell ****'s that the meter did not produce a ticket. They then gave us the one page instructions on how to validate, but we were unable to do that because we already paid and no ticket was produced.

Several other patrons of Dimos were also penalized as we were. We were charged a penalty of $54 - yes, Skyy Parking has removed that fine - however, they do not even have the legal ability to charge that much, as the maximum fine for private parking lots in ******** is $47.

The amount of time required to get the fine resolved has been extraordinary. The city appeals process, the documenting of signage at Dimo's, the conversation with the manager at Dimos, the appeals process with the City of Portland and more have claimed over 6 hours of my life. I demand an apology from Skyy - and that apology must contain no excuse - and I demand my parking fee of $8 be removed. I have evidence that my family ate at ****'s that night included the charge to my card and an email trail with the restaurant. Furthermore, Skyy must change its signage and the process of validation to improve the experience for diners at Dimos.

    Sincerely,

    *********************

8/29/2024 I paid $12.00 for parking, entered my license plate number, and the ticketing machine did not print out a ticket for me. There was no phone number or attendant present to assist with the malfunction. The $12.00 charge is pending on my credit card statement AND the vendor has record via their machine that I paid $12.00 and keyed in my license plate number. I return back to my car to find a citation fee for $54.00 for not displaying proof of payment WHICH THEY NEVER PROVIDED. This has to be some sort of scam. Charge for parking, don't provide proof, then cite fees for not displaying proof... If this is otherwise not a scam then surely the company should be expected to offer a customer service phone number or an attendant present to assist when these malfunctions happen. Ultimately, I am submitted this complaint with BBB with the intentions of voiding the citation that they wrote me (penalty no. 24P01530) AND to hopefully enforce that the business needs to post a customer service phone number on their sign OR hire an attendant to assist when these malfunctions happen. They can't just write citation fees for the result of their own errors when they provided no options for troubleshooting when the issue occurred.

    Hello,

Skyy Parking is an enforcement agency tasked with enforcing the postings at any given parking location. Skyy Parking does not operate any parking machines or equipment. If a machine did not print, the operator of the parking equipment will have record of your plate number. We will have to wait until after the holiday weekend. You are always welcome to appeal online on our website. Once an appeal is received, we will respond within 10 days. Thank you and have a nice day.

I parked in a space of this private parking lot which was marked guest ten minute parking so I could run in and get a pizza. 2 months later I get a bill that was forwarded from my old address because we had recently moved here and all our mail is being forwarded. I received a bill for $116 dollars, claiming that bc I had not paid within 30 days I had to pay an additional $72 in fees. And since it had been past 30 days (obviously bc my mail is forwarded) I could not appeal this transaction. Also, this letter claimed to be a final notice, however, I never received a first notice. There is also no way to contact this business. This company is a blight on the old town district of ********* and will no doubt have a negative effect on the local business.

Our signs are sufficient. Please do not park if you do not intend to pay.
