My unit has been treated three times over the last year as a result of the building's bed bug infestation. I've been forced to live out of plastic tubs, quarantine myself in my apartment, and have been unable to sleep adequately due to the resulting stress caused by the living conditions. I am unable to have friends and family over for fear of each of their homes subsequently becoming infested. Each time my unit is free of bed bugs, they have re-entered my unit from the common areas. As a result of the continued infestation in the building I sought out medical attention and my doctor agrees the living conditions are having adverse impacts on my wellbeing. I terminated my lease due to the living conditions and recommendations from my doctor, although the property management company will not waive the termination fee. I have documented the bed bugs throughout the building and have been timely in my elevation, to no avail.

We have stayed in contact with ******* ****** throughout the entire process of his infestation. We treated the infestation multiple times, with no cost to the resident, and did so in a timely manner. The main issue for the tenant seems to be from the lease termination fee. Given that we followed the proper procedures and in a timely manner to ensure resolution of the infestation in his unit, he did not qualify for lease break waiver. Additionally, any units affected by an infestation were all isolated and not connected, from the opinion of extermination professionals. There are multiple factor that can affect the efficacy of treatment and they may have been present given the persistence of the infestation.

Nonetheless, I do regret that ******* had a bad experience and I do wish him well in his next place of residence.

    Respectfully,

    ******* *******, Community Manager
