This Business has continued to send us Postcards and Flyers to Buy our House, we have contacted them many times by e-mail and phone calls to request our name to be taken off their list. We still continue to receive Postcards and Flyers. It is a invasion of our privacy and want to stop.Business Response

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this concern. We take matters like this seriously and strive to be respectful in all of our outreach efforts.
We never want to send mail to individuals who do not wish to receive it. To make opting out simple, we provide a dedicated online form at *******************************************************************. When a homeowner submits their request through that form, we immediately upload the information to both our local and master databases to suppress it from all future marketingunless mailings had already been printed or scheduled for delivery.
In this case, we confirm that the complainant submitted their request through our online opt-out system on February 27, 2025. We processed the request promptly. However, some mail pieces were already in production prior to that date, which unfortunately could not be recalled. We apologize for any continued mail received during that transitional period.Additionally, we want to clarify that while we do not intentionally mail individuals who have requested removal, we do occasionally acquire predictive data lists from third-party vendors. These lists are generated from public records and other data sources, and sometimes previously removed addresses may reappear. Despite our best efforts to prevent this, it is an industry-wide limitation and not unique to our company. That said, we have now verified that this address has been fully removed from all internal systems and master suppression lists to prevent any future outreach.
We also want to clarify that this individual is currently listed on our Do Not Call, Do Not Text, and Do Not Email lists. Our internal records confirm that they have not received any phone calls from our company since May 2024. We take compliance and privacy seriously, and we make every effort to respect all opt-out requests across every communication channel.
If the complainant wishes to take further steps to reduce or stop all unsolicited mailnot just from our companythey may also consider using national opt-out tools. The DMAchoice platform at ************************* allows consumers to manage the types of promotional mail they receive from many marketing organizations. Additionally, registering with the National Do Not Mail List and filing a request with the **** can further reduce mail from third-party sources.
Though we have not conducted any business with this individual, we respect their privacy and appreciate the opportunity to address the concern. If any additional mail is received in the future, we welcome direct outreach at ********************************* and we will investigate immediately.Customer Answer

Business constantly sends out postcards wanting to buy my property. NOT interested in selling. Twice this month, 2/3 and 2/22, plus many others in prior months. PLEASE STOP! STOP taking pictures of my property/home, stop sending mailings, stop everything and delete my name and address from your records!Business Response

We understand that receiving unwanted mail can be frustrating, and we want to clarify that PDX Renovations has a simple and effective removal process. If this individual no longer wishes to receive mail from us, they can visit the web address clearly printed on the postcard (*******************************************************************) and submit a request.
Once a request is made, we promptly remove the address from our database to prevent future mailings that have not already been scheduled.
We DO NOT take photos of peoples homesas stated directly on the postcard, the images come from ****** or public real estate websites. Additionally, we do not repeatedly target individuals who have asked to be removed as we like to save our money and not pay for unwanted postage. However, like many companies, we obtain marketing lists from third-party vendors, and occasionally, an address that was previously removed may reappear on newly acquired lists. This is beyond our direct control, but consumers can take additional steps, such as registering with the **************************** (DMA), to further limit unsolicited mail.
That said, rather than filing a formal complaint over a single piece of mail, we encourage this individual to consider how they handle other common advertisements they receivesuch as ************* coupons, Bed Bath & Beyond mailers, ******* or **** ******* weekly ads.
Simply discarding unwanted mail remains the easiest and most practical solution. However, for those who prefer to opt out, we are happy to assist through our established removal process thaats been working for others for over 2 decades. Please encourage the consumer goto the website to remove themselves in order to get off the marketing lists.

I am rejecting this response because:As stated in my complaint, I have received two postcards this month alone, February. Additionally, historically Ive received a postcard every two or three months. ENOUGH, is enough. It is NOT just one piece of mail.
You dont want a complaint filed against you then remove me from your list. I have completed your removal request on your website. If you dont want a complaint filed against you then put the information on your postcard;your yellow postcard does not have that information. According to your website/removal form it takes up to six months?! Unacceptable. For each postcard I receive I will file another complaint. Your processes should have procedures in place to remove individuals from your mailing list if they have so requested. Again, I will file complaints with each new mailing, text, phone, etc. I get from you.
Sincerely,

I keep getting mail saying they want to buy my residences. This has been going on for well over a year. I have called them 3 or 4 times to stop sending their solicitations. I have never done business with them before and don't intend to. We have 2 residences and I get their junk mail for both. The last time I called, the gentleman actually said I was the person you spoke to before. His attitude sounded like he didn't really care if I was upset on getting their mailings. He wouldn't do anything until I gave him my email address which he had no reason to have. He said he needed it to verify me to remove my name. that to me was totally unacceptable but I had no choice so I gave him one I could monitor and shut down quickly. This company's attitude towards citizens is, in my opinion, really in need of help. I just want these mailings for both residences to stop but they don't care and they keep coming. I told PDX Rennovations that if I got another one, I would put in a complaint to BBB. Here I am, I at least am true to my word. I hate solicitations of any kind, why can't people respect that and take care of the issue when asked?Business Response

We never want to send mail to people that dont want it, thus we do have a simple method to be removed from our mailing list, at www.pdxrenovations.com/remove. When this Consumer, or any other party calls and asks us to remove them we make it a standard business practice to make every attempt at doing so as quickly as we can for them and to save us money in postage and mailing costs. When the consumer goes online to that link and inputs their information, we upload it to our local and master database and their information should be removed from mailings that have not been scheduled already.
We apologize if anyone was apathetic to this person calling in and will remind our staff that we have a simple process to remove people from unwanted mailings. We have verified that she was removed from our internal lists, at the time she requested it though, even if the person on the phone was not enthusiastic or reassuring.
We do not repeatedly mail consumers intentionally after a consumer contacts us to be removed. However, we do acquire new predictive lists from 3rd party vendors each year, sometimes each quarter, and this consumer apparently appears on these new lists each time. Third party vendors send out these mailers and we do use third party lists. Despite our best efforts to remove people, they sometimes show up again in the future.
In this instance we verified their request for removal from our systems, in order to prevent any future, unwanted postcards to their address. They no longer appear on our internal system or our master list of people. We hope this resolves the issue going forward and the consumer doesn't receive unwanted postcards from our company. In addition, if the consumer wants to stop and halt any and all correspondence for any unsolicited mail they should take the appropriate methods and do so. Here are a few suggestions:
A quick ****** search shows how: *******************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************
Option 1: Register at the ****************************** (***) consumer website, and choose what catalogs, magazine offers, and other mail you want to get. *** choice will stop most, but not all, promotional mail.
Option 2: Would be to just throw away the postcard.
Third party providers, marketers and vendors will continue to pick up consumers info and because of this is outside of our control. We advise the consumer to take the correct methods and register with the *** to halt unwanted solicitations.Customer Answer

I believe I know where PDX Renovations purchased our info from, which was completely outdated THEN, and we've NEVER done business with them. Now, after several requests by mail and phone over the last SEVERAL years they STILL refuse by continuing to send their 4x5 card solicitations. PDX Renovations not only jeopardizes our private information, but also personal SAFTEY! My wife was previously with a criminal law firm, which where she received death threats. This is still a concern today, and resulted in having our names removed from some public government services such as PortlandMaps.com, specifically for the reason mentioned. Accessing that public information is still possible, however its only available IN PERSON, and at a local government office.Despite our petitions, every time this business sends their little solicitation cards every few months they jeopardize not only my family's privacy, but more importantly our safety! There have been too many times to count when we've contacted this business at address, and/or phone. We've tried *******************************************, which always appear on their card. I've left messages at whatever number appears the card at the time. Currently **************. I provide contact address, but have never received a response. I suspect they don't bother with voicemail messages unless you leave a physical address and noting interest to sell your property. The address they send all their solicitations to is our PO Box -- the one used filing this complaint. We currently have TWO of their solicitation cards - one received in the last two weeks. Maybe this business is unaware, but SHOULD BE -- of Oregon's Consumer Privacy act signed into law July 18th 2023, and went into effect July 1, 2024, making their last card received a violation of this act. Their site says they need year to remove info. That doesn't track with law!!They must immediately remove info. Next: we're contacting OR AG's office, and the ****Business Response

We dispute this review, as this party is not a customer or client. When searching our internal system, we could locate no call from their phone number to the number they referenced. In addition, we have a simple method to be removed from our mailing list, at www.pdxrenovations.com/remove. When this Consumer, or any other party calls and asks us to remove them we make it a standard business practice to make every attempt at doing so as quickly as we can. When they go online and input their information, we upload it to our database and their information should be removed from mailings that have not been scheduled already.

In addition, we acquire new predictive lists from 3rd party vendors each year, sometimes each quarter, and this consumer apparently is appearing on these new lists each time. Third party vendors send out these mailers and we use third party lists. It is the third-party's responsibility to not include this consumer on the master do not contact list per the new Oregon Consumer Privacy Law.
We do not want to send mail to any consumer that feels like they could be harmed by it, and we are taking extra steps to request their removal from our systems, in order to prevent any future, unwanted postcards to their PO Box. We hope this resolves the issue going forward and the consumer doesn't receive unwanted postcards from our company.

Complaint: 21994099
Rejecting response because:The businesss last response shows lack of attention and indicative of their attitude. I didnt leave a review - I filed a complaint, and I have NEVER done business Renovations. They seem they would rather argue communications rather than just address the issue at hand and resolve the issue of removing my data. Despite their claim that they dont repeatedly mail consumers - I know thats untrue. I have at least (not limited) two solicitations in my possession. Updated case to include photos showing at least two recent solicitation cards, and - Ive requested removal.
I HAVE in fact called and left a voice messages at the number on their solicitation cards, however I did not provide a phone number, nor email address. They dont have that info, nor do they need it to remove an address. I provided the necessary info to be removed - our address that they use for soliciting, a PO Box they already have, also so within this complaints info. Why would I want more of my info collected, used, sold, and abused by them ?? Additionally - I use blocked ID numbers when calling.
Any information the business acquired for solicitation purposes is not the responsibility of the data brokers they purchased from as they stated. The responsibility to ensure accuracy and compliance actually lies with the party purchasing and actually using the data. That aspect of data transaction & usage is an issue solely between seller and buyer, and certainly not the responsibility of the consumer. For our part - we are already part of the proper do not contact lists.
The method the business asks to remove info is neither state nor federally required. Simply providing my info to be removed as Ive done is all thats required - completed by voicemail, address shown on their solicitation card, and now here with BBB. In the past I have ALSO returned their cards in an enclosed **** envelopes requesting to be removed. This method is an authorized & mandated **** method. [ DMM, Sect. 604.8.1.2 and Sect. 507.1.8.2] Ive done this method at least 2 - 3 times. I used the businesss own cards so they could not argue they didnt have the specific info to be removed. Its their own records - so they know!
The method to remove info that the business wants used is deceptive. They say it must be done through a form on their website, which in my case, asks for info they dont need, nor do they even have. (i.e.) My phone number, and email. They dont need those pieces to remove an address. They claim their removal process takes six months to do, however, privacy rights mention a more real expectation of 4 - 8 weeks is required. With technology today, being realistic, it doesnt even take that long. This process is also discriminatory assuming every person has some type of computer device and internet.
Their required removal process can potentially, and MOST likely collects even more data not even listed to the consumer. Not only technical info regarding your computer system, network, your provider (ISP) but also your IP address collecting even more physical location info. Unknown to the person - this process all occurs automatically in the background, collecting and saving without any notification.
FINAL:
Why should ANY previous communications up to this point of complaint matter? Skip arguments of he said-she said. My requested desired outcome was to have no further contact from Renovations, and in my complaint summary itself was clear: To remove my info. This is today Why not just remove my info as asked instead of arguing about any communications??
If the business is actually, truly concerned as they would like to appear regarding the grave hazards surrounding my personal information - use this complaint as an official public request and simply remove my name and address, which you already have, and this issue can be quickly resolved. If some kind of confirmation is needed - do so with the address noted with the complaint info. (this does NOT imply any permission to further solicit me)

We dispute this review. When this Consumer, or any other party calls and asks us to remove them we make it a standard business practive to make every attempt at doing so. We even have created an automated way for the consumer to remove them selves and opt out of our mailing/marketing by going to ***********************************************;
Per our Internal System tracking and our retained phone record logs (which we keep for 7 years) when this consumer has called in the past (2021), we show that we did in fact remove consumer from our mailing lists. We do not show that this consumer has ever filled out the webform to be removed and opt out themselves.
To note- we acquire new predictive lists from 3rd party vendors at large scales each year, sometimes each quarter, and consumer apparently is appearing on these new lists each time. Third party vendors send out these mailers and we use third party lists. We do not repeatedly mail consumer intentionally, after consumer contacts us to be removed.
In regard to the consumer claiming that consumer is blocked, we do not block phone numbers to our marketing numbers. Nor do we block customers from visiting our website, nor do we have the ability to block an individual from accessing our website, all of this is available for the public anytime. There is no good faith effort on Consumers part to reach out and resolve the problem. Consumer is simply complaining that Consumer has received one post card in the last 2 years. Moreover, the burden of receiving a post card seems minute Consumer apparently is on several lists and even though we remove her,Consumer will show up again on a different list if not ours then someone elses.
Consumer needs to fill out the appropriate paperwork with ***************** ************* to block unwanted and unsolicited mail if consumer truly desires to stop any and all unwanted mail. This consumer is not a customer of ours and we have never done any business with this consumer.

I am rejecting this response because:Instead of all of this excessive verbiage, I would think a company that is in a business where they need people to like them, would just say, Im sorry for the inconvenience. Well make sure we find the list that has your name and address and remove it. (I remember one man I spoke with when I called who mentioned that there were several lists.)
Ive spent a lot of time over the past several years emailing, mailing, and calling to stop unwanted mail. I know all the opt-out sites and I re-use them regularly. The only mail I get is the mail I want. Ive had many requests from other companies asking to buy my properties. I ask them to stop, and they do. Thats being respectful.

again if the consumer wants to stop and halt any and al lcorrespondence for unsolicited mail they shoudl take the appropriate methods and do so. other wise no matter who it is (us or other sources) will continue to send consumer unwanted solicitations.
Consumer has some options to do this: a quick ****** search shows how: *******************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************
Opiton 1: Register at the **************** Association's (***) consumer website, and choose what catalogs, magazine offers, and other mail you want to get. however ***choice will stop most, but not all, promotional mail.
Option 2: Would be to just throw away the postcard like most other consumers do in the work who recieve unwanted items.
We will (as we have done for the last 20 years) continue to do our best to remove consumers from our marketing at their requests. As well as to save ourself from wasted marketing dollars mailing to those who we know have asked us rto remove them and do not want us to send things.
However third party providers, marketers and vendors will continue to pick up consumers info and because of this is outside of our control. We advise the consumer to take the correct methods and register with the *** to halt unwanted solicitations.
