    I was in an accident, hit by another driver who immediately took responsibility. His insurance stated any expenses can be sent to them directly, it was USAA. I did report it to my insurance, and they said opening a claim with them is not necessary so there aren't two insurance companies doing the exact same work, and since USAA had claimed 100% responsibility. Being in pain and not having a regular clinic I decided to try Swiftcare. I received several text messages "reminding" me of my appt but a few had contradicting instructions. I could not upload my ID, could not input any info so I decided to call because I wanted to make sure I had everything I needed for the appt. Whoever answered said don't worry and just come in early. But I was concerned because I wanted to be prepared and one of the text messages said I could call it in. Well, I get there and after explaining to the lady that I did not have a case open with my insurance company but had all the contact info for USAA, she said what I was doing was insurance fraud. I was super offended, could not believe she would say that to me. And that is after telling her on more than one occasion that I would pay on the spot, whatever it cost. I had been told by my attorney to just collect the receipts and I would eventually be reimbursed. They would have my card info as a guarantee but she said I couldn't pay.I felt embarrassed, talked down to and I thought her speaking to her boss would help get another set of eyes on it and deescalate the situation, well it didn't.I am also pretty confident if I was of another skin tone or ethnicity; I would not have been treated the same way. I've been around long enough to know the difference and after she said, "I am telling you how things work", I knew that's where it was coming from.My whole life has been in customer service, there were so many missteps, this could have been handled in a completely different way. This happened at Salem Swiftcare @ 10:30am on 02/18/22.
