I've had Frank from Elegant Wood Floors and More refinish my hardwood floors in the past. He's done a good job so I called him when I wanted to refinish my bedroom and entrance way floors. He came March 5, 2022 and quoted me $1,800.00 cash and $1,900.00 if we wrote a check, for both floors. On that estimate it also said he would put 3 coats of finish on the floors. I have a signed job estimate paper from him. He started the job the following Monday and they ended that Friday. I worked on Friday so my husband paid him for the job with a check. Since Rich didn't know much the agreed upon quote was, he asked Frank how much and Frank said $2,300.00. When I got home I asked how things went. Rich said he paid Frank $2,300.00 and Frank only put 2 coats of finish on the bedroom floor because he said it was an industrial finish. I called Frank and he said the price of gas and sanding belts went up ect. and the entrance way floor had so much paint on it ect. I said he only quoted me 6 days before and the prices didn't go up that much. The following day I went into the room and saw there was a section that wasn't polyurethaned at all and there were several dark circular areas in very visible places. Also, there was a section of trim under a doorframe that he was supposed to take care of and he didn't. Long and short, I'm very upset and disappointed. I just want the $400,00 back. I could have gotten him several more jobs, but doing this he has lost those jobs and a onetime satisfied customer.
