  According to the Pennsylvania Department of State, Div. of Corporations on December 22, 2009, they list the owner of the company as William Kraft, located at 411 Brierly Lane Munhall, PA 15120. Mr. Kraft is known to the BBB as an owner of a prior company called Kraft Painting at the Munhall address. The BBB has a seperate report on Kraft Painting.
• Advertising Review:

  BBB promotes truth in advertising by contacting advertisers whose claims conflict with the BBB Code of Advertising. These claims may come to our attention from our internal review of advertising, consumer complaints and competitor challenges.  BBB asks advertisers to prove their claims, change ads to make offers more clear to consumers, and remove misleading or deceptive statements.

  On February 3, 2025, BBB of Western Pennsylvania requested that the business substantiate, modify, or discontinue its advertised claims on the business’s website and social media pages to comply with the BBB Code of Advertising. Below are the outstanding challenges which can be found at https://thepittsburghpaintingco.com/ and each challenge below is referenced by its corresponding BBB Code of Advertising Principle. 

  Challenge #1 Refer to the BBB Code of Advertising Principle #1:  Basic Principles of the Code:

   
  1a.  Providing Pittsburgh and the surrounding area with expert interior and exterior painting services since 1978. 
  
  1b.  Bill took over the company in 1992 and started The Pittsburgh Painting Co. 
  
  1c.  WE HAVE BEEN SERVING THE PITTSBURGH AREA FOR OVER 40 YEARS   
  
  1d.  Lead Safe and EPA Certified Firm 

   

  The primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB.
  
  
  Challenge #2  Refer to the BBB Code of Advertising Principle #20:  Guarantees or Warranties:
  
  2a. Offers a 3 year guarantee and touch up programs on all of our painting projects. 
  
  When using the term “warranty” or “guarantee” in product advertising, the advertiser must clearly and conspicuously include a statement that the complete details of the warranty can be seen prior to sale at the advertiser's location, viewed on the advertiser’s website or, in the case of mail or telephone order sales, made available free on written request.

   

  As of February 28, 2025 the above issues remain outstanding in the BBB’s request for revision, clarification or modification.
