      On 6/29/2023 **** the salesman came to my home for an estimate for a patio cover. Even though I am on a fixed income I felt pressured into giving a deposit of $3000.00 because he kept saying over and over again how much time and effort he made in coming to my home and that he was afraid of me cancelling the contract like others etc., I believe now he knew this company's unprofessionalism and wanted 3 days to pass so I couldn't cancel the contract. He said someone would contact me in a couple of weeks to do the measurements. About 2 weeks went by with not hearing from anyone so I called the office and spoke to ******. I am 82 years old and I have NEVER been spoken to that way in all my life, he was extremely rude using explicit language complaining to me that he was busy and what did I want. He thought he put me on hold to speak to someone else in his office and I heard them yelling and cursing at each other that they don't have enough workers and that its illegal immigrants coming into the country causing the issue, then I was abruptly hung up on. I live in a manufactured home in a 55 and over community. The Park manager called H&M in which he was also met with profanities and unprofessionalism and was hung up on. Recently H&M sent me a check for $832.00 which I do not want to accept since the deposit was $3000. It is quite obvious that this company preys on senior citizens and makes money by making promises and then doing nothing and keeping peoples deposits. To be clear H&M never contacted me to take measurements as promised to confirm the job would be done. I will also be making a complaint to the Penn ************************* to make them aware of H&M's horrible business practices.

      When salesman came, I asked what about permits?  He quickly replied, "Don't worry, we take care of all that."  However, now it seems that H&M has stated that it was my responsibility which I was not aware of when I signed the contract.

      We sold a job to her she called 2 weeks later & said when are you going to do my job, I said we just sold it there are 5 ahead of you most likely a month from now.  Contract says start job 2 months & complete in 2 months.  She said cancel the job.  So I did and sent her all the $ except 30% of the job as is the cancellation fee.  

      It is not even enough to cover the materials I paid for & the commission & time we waisted.  

      We sued 2 other people for the same crap.  We won both hearings.  she called the park & they called me, & told me she said if we come on her property she will have us arrested.

      She signed a legal contract & we don't have any illegal people on the payroll.  

      WE don't pray on senior citizens Im a senior & that's no excuse to call me up & tell me what im going to do & when. I am with in the law. & I will continue to work in that park. 

      She told the attorney General she called the sheriff dept. So stupid she could have had us do the job but she thinks she can just cancel after the 3 days & rip people off,

      I want to make it clear that this company has their facts wrong about occurred. Before salesman left with my $3,000 deposit he said someone else will return in a couple of days to take final measurement to order materials.  No one came, so I called NINE DAYS later to simply ask:" When will someone be coming to take final measurements?"  I HAD NO COMPLAINT AT THE TIME, I ONLY ASKED A QUESTION.  ****** and his partner responded with annoyance and anger, and used very unprofessional insulting, foul language, and hung up on me.  My response was to call back and tell ****** I will not be spoken to in such a manner, do not want to do business with people who are so unprofessional, and I was reporting them to the community manager.  I did.  I found out then that the management had problems with this company before, with other residents, and he followed up by reporting the situation to other authorities.  No one ever came to take final measurements to order any supplies. Not one other person came other than the salesman for a FREE estimate.  Photos they submitted showed I ordered a sliding door; I DID NOT.  I only wanted a simple roof over my deck. I did not have a complaint until I was cursed at.  I do not accept their response because their facts are incorrect.

      UP TO THIS DATE, I ONLY RECEIVED A CHECK FOR $832.50 from H&M, and it does not look like they will refund my full deposit of $3000.  It does not look like the BBB has gotten any co-operation from the H&M Remodeling Co. either.  I will not communicate with the company anymore because of the way they yelled at me using cuss words, just because I asked a simple question.  I was misled from the day the salesman came to my house.  I was verbally abused just by asking a question.  After all this time, not even a sincere apology.  I should have received the full deposit returned.  Due to my poor health and lack of funds, I do not know what else to do.  Does the BBB have any further advise for me?

      I DO NOT RECCOMMEND ANYONE TO DO BUSINESS WITH H&M HOME REMODLING COMPANY.

      She called park & told them she did not want us on her property. 

      The woman cancelled the job after 3 days & I kept the 30%

      I am justified, I have judgements from 3 jobs for the same thing.  Case closed.

      Called H&M to get a quote for some work, and the man who answered was rude right from the start. I hope someone beats this man's ***, he definitely has an attitude .
