I was contacted by the business via a 'letter' that is actually a statement saying a creditor who 'bought' a balance from a former creditor is now accepting 50% of a remaining balance of said account. I already paid the debt in a consolidation settlement a long time ago. I also received a call from a representative from a 540 number, but they left a message to call an 844 number, which is actually to a cable television/internet company ('********??)!! Please remove me from your call list, as this seems like a big scam. This is fraudulent and harassment.Initial Complaint

I received a letter in the mail stating that this company could help settle a debt for me. Got a money order, sent it off at the end of June 2021. Its almost October 2022, and haven't heard or been able to talk to anyone from this company. I'd either like a full refund or for them to do what they were paid to do, attached is a copy of the money order and " receipt" just before being mailed.Business response

We have reported the status of satisfied in full lot the client LVNV Funding LLC who handles the credit report update. The process does take some time to be done.Business response

Today, August 18, 2021, I received a call from a man claiming that I had been approved for student loan debt forgiveness. The call was recorded on voicemail. The man had called from a local phone number, but left a Pennsylvania phone number to call him back on. The phone number he called from is *************. When I called it, the phone was answered by an automated message, informing the caller that is was an office of Tate and Kirlin and Associates. I looked it up on the internet and they are a collection agency. They falsely claimed to be working for the Dept. Of Education. Seems pretty fraudulent to me.Business response

This business calls at all hours from different numbers. They sent me a letter listing two different creditors and no proof that I have accounts with either. I want this company to stop contacting me or any of my associates in any manner, be it phone, written, digital or any future manner of communication.Business response

I received a call from Tate and Kirlin, saying I owed a balance to **************** for $600, that is NOT correct. This account they are taking money from me for, which I agreed, due to the fact that they were saying I would have a judgment against me. I suffered a mild stroke a while back, so I was confused to the Bill that was not paid. Well, I looked into it IT WAS PAID IN FULL !!! I am beyond furious at this point, they have debited (2) $100 payments from my account, I CAN NOT afford this.Business response
