We submitted cancellation policies to Penn National Insurance before the first payment was due. Our new agent faxed everything over, and we have receipts, proof of all sent fax dates, and DocuSign signatures with timestamps for approvals and cancellations. Despite confirming cancellation over the phone, a month prior, Penn National claimed our fax was blank, but only informed us of this after billing us a second time. They then changed their story and said they received it, but did submit it to their billing department. They continued to take unauthorized payments, totaling around $5,000, from our account. We had to put a stop payment on their company and now will be reporting this as fraud. Do not recommend this company; they misrepresent customers and create issues for good agents.

DO NOT HAVE PENN NATIONAL AS YOUR INSURANCE!!!! Worst company I have ever had to work with. They do not respond to emails or calls. It's been over a month since I've heard from my claim adjuster. They are also complete morons and aren't trained properly. I will tell as many people as I can to not have this company for insurance. COMPLETE DISGRACE!!!!!!!!!!!!! They should be shut down.

Penn National Insurance has reached out to the policyholder to provide an update and we continue to work with the insurance carrier of the at fault driver for reimbursement of her damages and deductible.

HORRIBLE Insurance Company. Filed a claim for hurricane damage and they closed it without ever contacting me. I still can't get the agents' name and why claim was denied.

I have insurance with Penn national. On 4/10 we reported an accident but we’re not approved for a rental car until 4/26. We were not approved to put into the body shop until 4/30. It is now 5/24 and we have still not received any sort of reimbursement and it is now time to turn back in the rental. Our claims manager refuses to call us unless we leave a message with his supervisor. I don’t know if the lack of communication is due to laziness or if it is part of the company policy to delay payments but it is extremely frustrating. In the meantime we still have no vehicle and no communication from them.

This company is a complete joke. Almost 3 weeks ago I was involved in an accident where a policy holder of Penn National backed into me and damaged my car. It has been almost 3 weeks now and despite multiple calls and emails the adjuster assigned to the case; Austin H******* has done absolutely nothing to set up a damage assessment and get my car fixed. He claims he hasn't been in touch with the insured yet and needs to get his statement. Which begs the question. How and why in the Hell would I be contacting Penn National in the first place if I didn't get that information from their policy holder? And why would he be giving me his insurance if he wasn't admitting fault in the accident? I certainly didn't share my insurance information with him. That's because it's irrelevant. He hit me. Furthermore, I personally talked to the other person about a week after the accident and he said he tried to call Austin himself, but got his voicemail. Which has been my experience as well. He never answers the phone. And the guy said no one from Penn National has tried to call him back despite their claim that they have. I have been in accidents before where the other driver was at fault. And it took only a few days (within a week) to get my car's damage assessed and everything resolved. I certainly did not have to chase them down. This is the mark of a legitimate insurance company where people are actually interested in doing their job. With the adjuster assigned to my case; Austin H*******, none of my calls have been returned and I have received only one email from him in almost 3 weeks now. And that was only after I went straight to his supervisor. If I could give this sorry excuse for a company negative stars I would. Austin H******* is irresponsible, has zero integrity and is overall full of complete *****

Penn National sent an inspector to my house. Everything he said about my house was untrue. My agent did not inform me of his complaints and they were going to cancel my home owners insurance. I proved that what he said was untrue and I included pictures. Then they said my insurance wouldn't lapse. But what a mess, especially when I was informed at 4:30 on a Friday afternoon. Details: my house was a wood construction, my paint was peeling, my garage roof had shingles lifting, and the drop from my porch was more than 36 inches. My house is masonry. I don't have paint, it's vinyl. The roofer said my garage roof was fine, and the drop was less than 36 inches. I am no longer using Penn National.
