May 23, 2022 Kingkiner tree service had to use a crane in my back yard and driveway to remove my neighbors tree. In the process leaving huge tracks from the crane in my yard. Had a tri axle truck with a huge chipper in my driveway and filled 4 trucks up. In the process of all that. My drive cracked all over it. They came and marked my driveway with spray paint. Then after 8 months of stringing me along. They said that they were not going to fix anything. They also left the trunk of tree which was 6’ diameter in my yard for 2 weeks. I was an only asking them to fix my yard and repair driveway and sidewalk and curb. My estimate was 15,000.

This is in response to the complaint on 7/24/2023. We appreciate the opportunity to respond to such an obnoxious accusation. The neighbor of our customer, *************************, agreed to let us use his driveway prior to work and we removed a small tree for him as a thank you free of charge for letting us use his property.
The tree we were removing from our customers property was hazardous and had already dropped limbs and damaged property prior to us giving an estimate.
When we spoke to the ******s prior to doing the work about the driveway usage, ****** wife specifically stated that they were aware that the driveway was cracked and damaged and it needed to be replaced. We agreed and made sure we matted the lawn and driveway before working.
We went out last year after the job was completed and notified that we were not responsible, and the driveway was previously damaged, and we took pictures to prove that. ****** called again 4/10 and our estimator met with him again and stated that we are not responsible for the driveway that this is between him and his neighbor. On our proposals it clearly states we are not responsible for damaged concrete or driveways. Customer said we are a large company, and our insurance can just fix the driveway. WE again stated we are not responsible for this damage; the driveway was already damaged prior and needed replacing and we used mats on the lawn and driveway to prevent any further damage.
*************** has been threatening to sue us and even had his brother call the office to get our insurance information for him. We have consistently communicated the same information.
This driveway was already damaged prior to us doing the tree work and we took pictures of the driveway before the work was completed and *************************, in our opinion, is trying to get a free driveway out of this circumstance.

I hired Kingkiner Tree Service to trim a few trees in the back of my house on July 11. While trimming, they dropped a branch into my sunroom roof, causing a hole and damage to the roof. I called the company several times and it took 3 weeks for Elmer K*******r to come inspect. By then I had hired and paid for ***** *****/****** ****** Sunrooms to repair the roof so as not to further damage my sunroom, but I had pictures and the actual damaged roof panel with the hole to show him. The company clearly states "Fully Insured" so I am not sure why, almost 2-1/2 months later, I haven't been reimbursed for the cost to repair the roof. They tried to give me a check this week for $900 but I refused it as it was $626 short of the cost. I have a text from Elmer saying they would reimburse me 100%.Roof repair was $2215.98 Balance of tree trimming $689 owed to Kingkiner Still owed to me $1526.98

    To Whom It May Concern:
Respectfully in response to our customer, *************************'s complaint. We did offer to rectify our damage for the ONE panel, see picture attached. Our customer told the owner of the company that she had TWO panels replaced. Therefore, we paid the portion of the bill that was for ONE panel and ALSO relinquished the amount owed to us for the completed tree work in the amount of $689.00. We rectified this damage, as we always do. Kingkiner Tree Service gave our customer a check in the amount of $900.00 she refused the check on 9/22/2022.

In rejection to your second response, Our offer still stands to give you the $900.00, in fact the check is here in the office awaiting you to pick up at your earliest convenience. We have Credited the account of the balance due for the completed tree work in the amount of $689.00 and will give in addition, a check for $900 totaling $1589.00 which is more than 50% and what we feel is fair and just. We are in the office from 8am-5pm Monday through Friday.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and decided to accept their offer, with regret.  After almost 4 months of trying to negotiate the damage done to my house by Kingkiner, they stood fast on low balling the money requested to repair my roof.  I will now have to pay the additional $627 out of my own pocket.  Also, you should note that their settlement check was from the company itself, not from their insurance company.  So the "fully insured" statement on their advertisements and proposal was a joke.

I would never use this company again, nor would I recommend them.

Additionally, I am disappointed that the BBB did not help negotiate this complaint.

    Regards,
