1 starI thought I was going to have an exciting Mothers Day weekend until we arrived at the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City and they had bed bugs in the rooms. The food was horrible. Luckily the staff was nice. But I will never book with that hotel again. And if it’s a hotel you guys are providing please stop. People spend too much money for this to occur.Review fromCJ W

1 starI JUST ATTENDED A ONE-DAY EVENT. MY BUS LEFT FROM BAM IN FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN, NEW YORK. WE WERE GOING TO THE FANTASIA, NEO AND KENNY LATTIMORE CONCERT IN ATLANTIC CITY, NJ. THE CONCERT WAS THE BEST PART OF THE TRIP. EVERYTHING ELSE WAS TOTALLY HORRIBLE. WE LEFT LATE DUE TO CONFUSION OF WHO SHOULD BE ON WHAT BUS. IT SHOULDN'T HAVE MATTERED WE WERE ALL GOING TO THE SAME PLACE! WHEN WE GOT THERE WE RECEIVED OUR BANDS FOR THE DINNER AND OUR TICKET TO THE SHOW, YET WE NEVER RECIEVED OUR $10 BACK FOR THE CASINO. WE WAITED IN THE COLD FOR OUR BUS TO GO HOME FOR ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF. WE KEPT BEING TOLD "IT'S COMING" WHEN ALL ALONG THE BUS HAD BROKEN DOWN IN ANOTHER LOCATION AND WE HAD TO WAIT FOR THEM TO FIX IT. WE WERE NOT TOLD THIS UNTIL AFTER WAITING IN THE COLD FOR SO LONG. THE FOOD THEY PROVIDED AT THE SHOWBOAT -TERMINAL WAS COLD AND TASTELESS. I WILL NEVER ATTEND ANOTHER SOULNATION EVENT. THERE IS NO ORGANIZATION WHATSOEVER AND NOT RECEIVING THE $10 BACK FOR THE CASINO REALLY SUCKED. WE WERE SO BEHIND SCHEDULE THAT THE WHOLE DAY SEEMED RUSHED. WE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TIME TO GO TO THE CASINO. SOULNATION NEEDS TO GET IT TOGETHER OR JUST STOP ORGANIZING EVENTS. THEY SHOULD HAVE SHAME IN THEIR EYE! IF ANYONE ASKS ABOUT THIS ORGANIZATION I WILL TELL THEM DO NOT EVER PARTICIPATE! YOU WILL BE WASTING YOUR MONEY!!!!Review fromAmber B

1 starMy experience with soul nation was not one that I care to experience again and I believe I am entitled to a refund. Everything was unorganized from the very moment I stepped on the bus. There was no one checking the passenger manifest so people were on the wrong bus, we left 45 mins late. The flyer said Pennsylvania but we stayed in Atlantic City, which made my weekend very stressful as I am battling a gambling issue. This extremely outdated hotel had more issue than I count. The signup had very little information, most of the soul nation employees had NO information about anything. The change in location left guest to a 2 hour bus ride to snow activities which was, aside from the concert, was my reason for going. The bus was filthy, bathroom unusable. The flyer and itinerary said we’d receive premium alcohol, I was offered house liquor. At the price per person, I expect more. My group had a horrible experience with soul nation and all agreed this would be first and last trip. I’ve now sent three emails in regards and have yet to be contacted.Review fromYvette K

I attended the Winter Getaway (February 24-26/2023). This was the weekend of my birthday so I was excited. Unfortunately, there were some major issues that I am compelled to pre-warn my fellow travelers. The Wyndham hotel in PA didn't have a microwave or refrigerator in our room. Keep in mind we were scheduled to be in the room for 3 days. The buffet for breakfast and dinner was cold and all processed foods. They put sugar in the grits. smh. We were in an isolated area so there were no stores to walk to. The itinerary listed that it would PJ party, winter sports, roller skating etc. I was interested in attending the roller skating activity, pj party and all white event. The Check in Coordinator (Seven) was very unprofessional. He failed to mention prior to us leaving that the roller skating venue was closed. He announced it once we arrived at the venue. The only option that we had was to play arcade games for 2 hours. He refused to take us back so we had to sit around for 2 hours. The only good thing about that was I was able to get some hot food. I also have to mention that the bus did not want to turn on until someone came to fix it. The dj for the PJ party was horrible. I met a family that organizer passed away 3 days before the trip. Soul Nation net worth is $5.4 million a year. They refused to give them at least 1/3 of the monies that this small group paid. They were forced to attend this event still in grief from loosing their love one. Soul nation could have written these monies off as a lost and retrieve a tax credit but greed and no compassion for this family played a huge part in their decision. I reviewed Soul nations itinerary carefully and the check out time was not listed. When I asked the CIC he stated that the check time was 11am. It was actually 9am. We had to wait until 1:30pm to leave for the concert so that the hotel could check all of the rooms to make sure that no one stole any of their items. Please be aware and dont get scammed like we did.Soul Nation Events

Yvette, we take customer complaints seriously. But this isn't fair. We had 500 people at that hotel and not one complaint. The Wyndham is a beautiful hotel, and provides excellent service to our guests. Nowhere did it ever mention you would have a microwave or refrigerator in your room. And, we are sorry you didn't like the food. It is hard to meet everyone's tastes expectations. As for the parties, there was a Pajama party on Friday as advertised, and an All-White on Saturday as advertised. I will look into why we ran roller skating if the venue was closed. That should not have been advertised. And as for the family who lost a loved one. We did not force anyone to attend and were in communication with the group working out what could be done. They all decided it was best to go and celebrate her life instead of staying home. We are sorry we did not meet your expectations.Review fromMarie S

For starters, our problems started 1 week before the trip when they informed us that we wouldn’t be going to Binghamton, NY and instead to Columbia, MD because we were “a small group”. One weeks notice and barely wanting to give less than half of what we paid refunded, terrible. The manager, Pat, was a horrible person to talk to, condescending and contentious. But our group decided since we couldn’t get our money back, we would still go and make the best of it. Their best offers were to give us free tickets to the NMAAHC and “good seats” at the concert. Fast forward to departure day, our bus was 2 hours, 45 minutes late and we weren’t informed of the late bus until 1 hour after departure time. It was cold on Friday and we had to sit in our cars to keep warm. We get on the bus, make a stop and then arrived to the hotel around 10p. Rooms were ok, but outdated and not worth the money we paid for. Saturday morning, we get up for breakfast and the eggs were runny, the turkey bacon wasn’t cooked, the turkey sausage was cold. It was just horrible. No complaints about the museum, I wish we could have stayed in DC longer. The dinner for Saturday, HORRIBLE!!!! The mac and cheese looked terrible, the food was bland, my dad bit into a piece of fried chicken and it was still bloody inside. For the amount of money we paid, it was UNACCEPTABLE! Sunday, checkout was hectic since it seemed everyone was ready to go. Our bus…disgraceful! They need to decommission the bus we was on. It smelled like someone sprayed a can of raid and the exhaust was bad on that bus. To have to endure that for 2 hours to the venue for the concert was just ridiculous. We had to get back on that same bus after the concert and endure that smell for another 2 hours.Soul Nation Events

?I am beyond words for the sheer shenanigans of tonight’s events. I am unbelievably disgusted and angry of the flip flop behavior of Soul Nation as a company. You all knew since 10am that this bus ride could potentially become an epic fail. The blatant insensitivity of your agents handling this matter, was nothing less that vulgar. Not only did the times change several times, but it was done matter of factly. To have a location pickup point like Newark Penn Station area, at an after dark hour, was just an unconscionable thing to do. People attending this bus ride, were subjected to the unsafe environment of the homeless population that frequents the areas surrounding the 1 Ferry Street, Newark NJ address you all gave as a meeting spot. To add insult to injury, several calls made to your company, were met with a bevy of inconsistent streams of information. Everyone involved as registered participants of this bus ride, were met with delays, or sent straight to voicemail. I want you to know these 15 people were dealing with the time frame issues, coupled with weather challenges since pickup times were established. The only honorable thing for Soul Nation as a company to do, is give full refunds ASAP. No amount of disingenuous apologies can compensate, for the time, money, safety & overall mental health that has been exhausted, on this situation. At the end of the day, how would you feel, if this was you or one of your loved ones languishing at the hands of the unknown. I am so embarrassed at this point, to have my good name sullied by this unforgettable disheartening situation. I hope to hear from you soon, with a satisfying remedy for this epic tragedy.Soul Nation Events

Dear Ms. F***** We are incredibly sorry to hear about the unacceptable experience you had with Soul Nation Events. We understand the frustration and disappointment you must be feeling, and we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you and your group. We take responsibility for the lack of communication that led to the uncomfortable situation at the Newark Penn Station area. It is unacceptable that you and your group were subjected to such an environment, and we deeply regret that this happened. We completely agree that a full refund is the least we can do to make up for the inconvenience and discomfort caused by this situation. We have already initiated the process of refunding your payment, and just waiting to see how many in your group is charging back already. That is complicating things a little. Once again, we apologize for any distress caused by this unfortunate event. We assure you that we are taking steps to improve our communication and operational processes to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any further concerns or questions. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Sincerely, [Tom L*****] Customer Service Representative, Soul Nation
