On July 16, 2022, I utilized the Bob Adams Auto Service to have my automobile inspected. My stickers expire at the end of September.Upon the completion of this inspection, which passed with regard to safety but failed with regard to emissions, I was informed that the repair would cost around $350 to replace a faulty fuel pressure sensor. I had already mentioned to mechanic ******************************* prior to the inspection that I was facing a financial hardship and would need time to secure payment for any work beyond the basic inspection and oil change. Consequently, I told him to hold off on repairs until I could be confident in my ability to pay the estimated $350 cost and that I would let him know when I could do that. In the interim, I picked up my vehicle from the Bob Adams shop and was billed $199.00 for an inspection, oil change, and for the privilege of having my car driven around for 17 miles in a vain attempt to get a check engine light to turn off; a light that had not turned off once in the past half year. $52 of that $199 was attributed to labor involved in driving my vehicle around town. $9 of the total was attributed to the cost of a safety inspection sticker that I never received. The inspection as a whole, as it later turned out, needed to be repeated at an entirely different business since the inspection is appartently not transferrable and was more than 30 days old. At the end of August, I called to schedule the needed work at Bob Adams and was told it would be a three week wait. The date of September 19 was presumably set aside for my vehicle and the part needed was allegedly ordered.I dropped off the vehicle at the crack of dawn, but received a call at the end of the business day announcing that the work would not be done. ***** lied to me and blamed the vendor, but in reality, he forgot to order the part. It wasn't the first time something like this happened with them. I need my money back ($130.57) since I am now stuck paying twice.
