443 Auto Sales:I am writing regarding the 2014 ***** ***** ******* that you sold. This letter is an attempt to resolve this matter amicably. As you know, I purchased a 2014 Red ***** ***** ******* from you on May 13, 2022. The total purchase price was $21,715.85. I gave you a down payment of $2,000 and financed the rest through *********************** I was also sold the following: an extended warranty of 12 months/12,000 miles with ***** ******************* ($1,666.00); and a 63 months Gap Protection policy by ******* ***************************** (($926).Within the first month of having the ***** *******, the engine blew. I took it back to your dealership and you advised him to go to the ***** Dealership and use his warranty to pay for the needed repair. I followed your instruction and went to the ****************/***** dealership. The dealership informed me that I needed to pay $1,700.00 to tear the engine down to properly assess the problem. I had no choice but to pay the amount. Thereafter, I, he was advised that to repair the engine, it would cost $6,800.00 and to replace the engine, it would cost $7,000.00. The dealership recommended he replace the engine. I was further informed that due to the engine problems, the catalytic converter had been destroyed and there was fluid/anti-freeze running into the engine. Solely repairing the catalytic converter alone would cost another $2,500.00. Notwithstanding all these significant and costly charges and serious damages, ***** only offered to pay Me $1,300.00 toward the engine repair. However, I would be looking at over $11,000.00 off the bat to try and bring this defective vehicle into some semblance of functionality. Your sale of this defective vehicle tome calls into question whether your business practices are reasonable and fair. As I'm sure you're aware, unfair, unreasonable, and deceptive business practices are in violation of the Pennsylvania  Unfair Trade practices, and Consumer Protection Law.

    Dear Sir/Madam:

Sorry to hear ******* ******* is having a bad experience with the warranty company. I would like to clear up a few misstatements in the letter I received. Purchase price was $10,425 plus state and transfer fees plus optional warranty and gap insurance. *** ******* made an appointment with us to check a brake pulsation and a small oil leak. Upon returning to pick his vehicle up we road tested it with him and he was satisfied. We never recommended a franchised dealer for warranty work since their labor rates are normally higher than the warranty company pays. We have used this warranty company for years with very few problems which is why we continue to use and recommend them.

This vehicle was operating properly when sold and again when brought back for some minor concerns. I believe your concerns should be addressed toward the dealership performing the work and the warranty company. We have no control over either of them.

    Sincerely.
    Jeff P******
