Haller was hired on 9/13/23 to install gas and electric lines for an outdoor fireplace, tv/audio above the fireplace, and a patio grill island in addition to wiring an existing patio pavilion. ***************************** was the sales person who came to estimate the job. The issue is they only complete half of the work. The FP has a transformer that is to be mounted inside and I verified this with **** as we stood in the basement and I spoke to ****** at the FP sales center (************heating in Annville). Additionally I gave him the supplied (which is the only not documentation/Material requested) working/installation manual for the FP to find out when the day of the work (10/26 & 27) they were just giving me two outlets in the mulch bed. I was told this is what they had done for previous jobs where the transformers plugged into an outdoor receptacle. If I wanted it done correctly to the instructions I supplied I had to sign another $1400 contract to run the necessary wire. Additionally the gas lines were not properly placed and are 2.5 from the concrete pad from where I told them the FP was going. When I inquired about the mistake I was told by salesman ***************************** I was not a contractor and it was my issue to deal with. They did what they've done for previous jobs. Now I need to hire another contractor to come in and install the dedicated FP electric and fix what I was given by Haller based on what they assumed I needed. Additionally, I tried reaching out to salesman ******* and did not receive any reply from 9/16-9/26. On 9/26 I received one response and a follow up question was just ignored. Its not my fault he did not take the time to understand what was needed. I feel like he just wanted to sell the job and charge additional to make it all work after the fact. I should not have to pay the full amount when only half of the work was performed. Unacceptable!Business Response

We hired Haller to do work in our house last Oct and at first things were great, but we had to have them back three times to fix our plumbing that leaked the day after they install the brand new plumbing. First of the year they sent us the paperwork for the Job and came to found out they never had building permits when they started the job. They only pulled them after the job was done. They ask about payment and we give them more money but they still had stuff that need fixed and they refused to fix the items until they were paid. We told them fix the items and you get the money. We also told them we were going thou and refinancing the house and that took longer than we thought. Plus, during all of that I lost my father due health reasons. They sent a service guy out to fix our mini split problem and the service guy told us it was installed wrong and could have burned the unit up. They still have not fixed the rest of the unit problems and our brand new kitchen lights that flicker or the gas main that is not install right. Haller then filled a lien on our house, without warning or prior communication. At the same time, we called ****** about our whole generator and found out they registered it to a person that worked for the company and he got our rebate check. We were told by ****** that the generator was registered in Lancaster to ****, when it was sitting installed at our home. Because of this, it took us at least 4 months to get our warranty resolved. We were told that entire time, that Haller was working on it. We had to resolve it ourselves. Now that the bill is paid, since Sep, they refuse still to fix the problems and refuse to remove the lien on our house. We are not getting any communication back from Haller. We were told via email on 10/2 that someone would call to schedule the fixes and also the lien will be removed. No calls, emails, or letters. As far as we know, the Lien is still there. We still have fixes that need done.Business Response

Haller Enterprises preformed work and did not get any payment for months for the work completed. During out collections process is when operation of equipment concern came up. We quickly responded with a Tech to review equipment and get back up and running to manufacture specification. Customer had some accessories concern that we would handle when collection of payment is complete. After working with customer and exhausting all options we did place a Lien on home until we receive payment for work completed. Since Haller Enterprises as received payment in full and sent the customer a time stamped document of removal of Lien. Also have asked to see if there is anything we can help with that is outstanding. To date Haller Enterprises has only received information from customer on lien removal. The timing of this was before this post was entered.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: Haller did not get full payment, because they did not come back to fix the incorrect work that was not complete at our home. This work is still not complete. We have given several people a list multiple times of the items that needed addressed. We were told multiple times that someone would call us to setup the appointment. Never received any calls. The issues were not accessories, they were parts of the main installation, including the main gas line was installed incorrectly, the brand new kitchen lights that flicker, and the condensate pumps do not work correctly. The only issue that they addressed was that the admitted they wired the mini splits incorrectly. If we would have not noticed that there was an issue, we would have destroyed our brand new mini-splits. After we notified Haller of my father's passing, Haller said they would work with us with the payment. There was no notification that a lien was going to be placed on our home. We attempted to make a payment arrangement and made a very large payment towards the bill. After that arrangement was discussed, the contact refused to communicate with us. We have only received a one page document that says the removal of the lien has been submitted, nothing that says the lien is official removed. Since Haller did not mention anything in their response about the warranty, they are admitting to the warranty fraud. We were told by *********************** that she was at fault for not getting the warranty submitted correctly at first, then said it was ****** that was not responding, then said she would take care of it as soon as possible. It took us, calling ****** several times, getting the real situation told to us. Then, we told Haller, we knew what was going on with it being connected to a Haller employee, this is what it took to get it actually moved to us. If Haller is not willing to stand behind their work, we would like money back to pay someone else to fix the issues.
Regards,

I have three main complaints with Haller related to the services we contracted with them for: - It has been almost a year since Haller completed our electrical upgrade and they still have not completed the work. Specifically, they have not provided and installed the new 400-Amp meter base cabinet and PVC Riders. I have reached out numerous times asking for them to complete the work. Each time to be told by the installers that they do not have me on the list to receive one of these units and have it completed. When I reach out the sales person they tell me there is a back order and they have not been able to source the cabinet. Yet a google search and calls to other electricians confirm that this is NOT the case and that these cabinets are available through PP&L approved providers. (I have obtained a quote to finish the work Haller started for $2,500. I would like them to refund me these charges and I will have someone else finish the work.) - In the installation of the mini split unit the installers disconnected the heating to our sunroom and assured us that they left a note for electricians performing the upgrade to connect them. The electricians did not complete this work. Leaving us without heat in our sunroom. The issue was discovered when our furnace went out during the sub zero days around Christmas 2022. It cost us $500 to have someone out only to tell us that Haller simply never reconnected the heat. (I would like Haller to refund the $500 I had to pay to have this work assessed and completed.) - Deceptive advertising in their one call monthly club. For more than 5 years we paid for one club service, during the coldest days in years over the holidays this year our furnace ignitor started to trip. A gentleman came out and was only able to assess that the heat in our sunroom was never hooked up. He told me that was what was causing the draft and that he would have it reconnected about a week later. I called 3 times to confirm that if there were additional issues we would have someone available to provide services despite it being Christmas Eve. They assured me as a one call club member they would be able to provide that. Well Christmas Eve came and we had no heat again through the furnace. They refused to honor the 24 hour service guaranty. I paid over $1,000 to get someone to come out on Christmas Eve so our kids were warm on Christmas. I paid another $150 for Haller to then come out a week later to permanently fix the problem. They told me the only thing they could do was to replace the entire furnace for $8,000. A second opinion revealed it was an ignitor switch that was out and the other HVAC provider fixed it for less than $100. I then cancelled the one club membership however, Haller continued to bill me for it for 6 months until I cancelled the credit card. (I would like Haller to refund me the portion I paid to have another provider make an emergency call since I was paying them to provide emergency services in 24 hours at no additional costs.) Haller has since removed language about the 24 hour service commitment from their website. However, I have the actual paperwork from when we signed up stating that they committed to 24 hour service.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:Haller only addressed the issue with the electrical box install. They did not respond to or address the other service issues that we requested refund and resolution on. In my conversations with them they did not indicate that the check they were sending me for the unfinished electrical box had any relation to or that it concluded the other two items addressed in the BBB complaint.

Date- 2/3/2023 On this date I received a letter that Haller sent me/my account to a collection agency. Haller claims that a payment for March 2022 of $112.00 was never paid to them. I contacted Haller on 2/6/2023 and asked them for further information. I told them that March 2022 I noticed that a payment had not been automatically taken out of my account, and I called in to alert them to the error. I was told last year that they had gone to a new billing system, and they would deduct the amount. Apparently, the amount was never taken out of my account. On 2/6/2023 the Haller rep told me they went to a new billing system in 12/2022 not March 2022.Haller rep told me that my bank paid the amount and then took it back. I contacted my bank and they requested the tracing number. Haller had no tracing number to give me because the information they claimed about my bank was false. Haller rep finally admitted that the amount was not taken out and that they had gone to a new billing system in March 2022. I have automatic monthly deductions for the purpose of not being late with payments. I have been using this payment system for over a year. Since Haller admitted that they were wrong I asked for a letter stating that they had made an error because of a new billing system and that my account should not have been reported to a collection agency. Haller rep on 2/9/2023 promised a letter would be sent by email to me. No letter has been sent as of 2/14/2023. They have given me nothing but "lip service" and have done nothing to resolve their error in reporting me to the credit bureau. I never received correspondence from them last year about the payment. I did pay the overdue amount of $112.00 during the week of 2/6/2023 and was told basically why do I have a problem because my account was now up to date. As of 2/10/2023 I have called into Haller 7 times. The extension for the billing department is not accurate. I was told that no one speaks to anyone in billing.Business Response

01-31-23 Received notice that Haller Enterprises LLC had sent us to collections over $56.00 outstanding. We started a membership program with Haller in 2012 and had established auto payment via our bank account for that service at that time. Haller claims that we did not pay our monthly service membership fee in December 2021 and January 2022 despite it being set up for auto payment. Haller staff was in our home on April 20th 2022 and did not mention any outstanding payment. In fact we made a $435.00 payment to the tech that day for a repair. We had no idea there was any outstanding balance on the account and Haller had talked to us on the phone numerous times since in an attempt to schedule routine service over the course of the last year. Upon calling Haller today when we received the collection notice, staff (*****) advised of the outstanding balance and could not explain why it wasn't auto debited as it had be since 2012 and beyond. ***** indicated they tried emailing us on 26th of August 2022 but I have no record of this in my email account. Despite numerous phone conversations and in person meetings this was never address before being sent to collections which is unacceptable and poor business practice at minimum. We have a a very good credit history and have never been sent to collections, for it to come at the hands of a company we have had business relationship with for 10+ years is infuriating when all they had to do is explain/ask during one of the countless interactions since the supposed failure to pay. Stranger yet is why they claim autopayment wasn't working for 2 months but it magically started working again February 2022 and since. Additionally, Haller did not preform the winter preventative maintenance this year 2022-2023 which the membership fees pay for and in the spring preventative maintenance the tech hand made a filter because he forgot one and I later had to dig it out of the system because it failed and got sucked in.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:Spoke with Haller ******************* Operations Manager ***************************** about the complaint. ********* advised that this shouldn't have happened and that it occurred because they switched billing systems which impacted automatic payments for some members. Additionally, ********* said they began using a collection agency to manage accounts due to staffing issues, he claimed the collection agency was simply making phone calls and handling customer accounts because his staff couldn't. ********************* stated that the threshold for this type of action should have been $1000 but mistakenly the system was set for $10 for an unknown amount of time triggering these actions. ********* said he couldn't say how many people this affected but led me to believe it was more than just us.
********* repeatedly stated he agreed that this was unacceptable and was a mistake but offered no real solution or fix. He advised that it shouldn't have affected our credit rating but as I pointed out (and he agreed) it shouldn't have even went to a collections agency when multiple times during our 12 year business relationship they simply had to ask. How can I trust *********** word that it didn't impact our credit when they couldn't even manage their own customer/member accounts properly. It seems that ********* thinks that having a collection agency strong arm long standing member accounts on automatic payments that his company some how screwed up is just an unfortunate situation and not an inept business decision. Additionally, since they decided to blast my information email, phone number, name, address to a collection agency how do I know what is going to happen with that information now in a day and age where information is constantly being stolen.

I have contracted Haller for many things at my previous home and at my current home. I have never had any issues till our last service regarding our AC unit. We had an issue with it and the man came out and said well you can fix it with a part or we can do a new one. He said I recommend the new one since your is older. He stood in my home office that the charge that Haller is coming out for would be waived if we went with the new option. I called my husband with him here and we decided to have the new one installed that we paid Haller 1,000s of dollars for. Then they called me about this charge I explained all of this to the lady that called me and she said oh no okay I will have my manger reach out because if thats what he told you. This happened so many times and was to get a call back but all they did was call about the balance. So I decide to call in myself again two more times and was told that a manger or billing manger would call to get this resolved. To find out they never called but sent me to a collection agency. Please ask them to pull records of my payments all on time to them from my current address and my old one at **************************************** ******** **. They are always paid. But I will not pay for something I was told would be waived if I went to replace vs fix route and never was called back to address it other than trying to collect money. Now they are ruining my credit.Business Response

They were contracted to replace my heating and cooling system. They damaged several areas of my home. They were very sloppy, unprofessional, unprepared. They did not follow state mandated contract. They had me sign a $0 balance invoice . The job was started in November of 2021, finished in April of 2022, then billed me December of 2022 . After having me sign a $0 invoice. I feel disgusted with the process and the company in whole. They are careless and deceptive.Business Response

On the date of October 31 a member of Haller assessed what was needed for a pipe repair. They estimated $4494.10 initially. This was to include work were cast iron pipe would be cut and replaced with PVC. I then asked for an itemized quote. They told me they cannot do that. I asked why. They said their software cannot do that. I said it can be handwritten. They never provided me with that. But, the quote then changed to $3384.91. And I confirmed that price. I gave $1,400 up front. When the repair person showed up, it was not the same person who gave the estimate. The person who did the repair said there was no need to cut any cast iron or do any of the work quoted for that. The work took a total of 8 hours. And the PVC used was about $200.00 in value. I was advised by a billing person at Haller that the 1400 I paid should cover the work done. They contacted a supervisor. The supervisor called me to say that it was 25 hours of labor and 900 dollars of materials. I attempted to explain that was not correct at all. I’m posting this as Haller should provide itemized quotes. And they are now attempting to take advantage of me as a consumer and overcharge me.Business Response

Better Business Bureau:
In this scenario, Haller needs to do a much better job when estimating work. They should be providing customers with a very detailed and itemized estimate. I felt the way they went about my estimate was very suspicious, and let room to certainly over charge for work actually done.
That said, I do accept the resolution provided by Haller.

On 6/27/2022, Haller Enterprises sent a technician to service our outdoor A/C unit under our normal maintenance agreement. The first thing this technician did was go to the basement and cut a hole 8" x 12" in my duct board to search for mold, which has nothing to do with servicing the A/C unit. No technician from Haller has ever done this before. He discovered mold, wrote "Heavy Growth" big in marker on the duct board that he taped back in place, and then tried to guilt me in to paying $975 to fix it today, or if I don't agree to do it today, the price goes up to over $1,600. He said to me, "Well, if you want to be THAT guy, you could just ignore it.". I declined to have it fixed at my cost. So I called Haller to file a complaint, and got a call back from the Technician's Manager (Jim), which is why I'm filing a complaint with the BBB. I calmly explained the situation and he confirmed that the technician did not act according to the service appointment. He asked how to make this right, and I said I wanted them to fix the mold problem they weren't even supposed to be looking for at their cost. He said "No". He countered by offering to install the UV Light to kill the mold for the discounted price of $975. I said that's ridiculous. I offered to split that cost 50/50, and he said, "No, because the light is new and costs us almost that much and we would be losing money". I said, "That's the consequence of messing up the service. Your company is going to lose out on $500, and so am I, and neither one of us will be happy about it. But that's how you will satisfy your customer", and he said, "No, I'm not going to do that." So I asked to talk to his supervisor, and he said, "I'm it!". In his final attempt to make me happy, he said, "Do you want me to send a Technician out to cover up the marker with Duct Tape and make it just go away"? So, I'm contacting the BBB to let people know about this company's shady service ethics. Steer clear of Haller!Business Response

BBB Business Profiles are provided solely to assist you in exercising your own best judgment. BBB asks third parties who publish complaints, reviews and/or responses on this website to affirm that the information provided is accurate. However, BBB does not verify the accuracy of information provided by third parties, and does not guarantee the accuracy of any information in Business Profiles.
When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.
BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this business, please let the business know that you contacted BBB for a BBB Business Profile.
As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
